Dead poet societyThe book dead poet society is one of the few books which touches my heart and make me choke for something. I love it so much that when I finished it I had decided to go on it once.There are so many aspects deserving our commenting. Such as “Why do the school, Welton Academy, kill the personalities of children” ,“ Is right that educational ways of the teachers or parents to their children like those in that book” and “The faith of John Keating”……All of them are my beloveds,but the words “seize the day and make your life extraordinary” is my favorite. So I will illusion that in the book in the following.What is …seize the day?‟I have thought it was to do the things around me, you should do, before I read it. Then when I finished it I know I‟m wrong. Seize the day is to devote yourself to the things that you love to do and learn to how to choose our life. When in the classes of the school‟s origin teacher Dr. Hager, in face of the dull course, the students often said “You‟ll get used to old Hager”. But in the class of Keating, students are allowed to express their ideas and have the chance to find what they like and chase it.To be honest, in the class of the teacher, Hager, students have more chance to learn more setting knowledge. By it, students learn to give up to the bad situations and are more able to learn the survival regula tions. However, I think it‟s not what we need in our school dates. What is more important for us is acquiring the chances to divergent(发散)thinking and cultivate our creativities. In the future,we have plenty of time to infect the smell of adult world, so it is unnecessary for us harry to touch it. So I believe the meaning of …seize the day‟ is loving what love and persisting it without regret.Seize the day, is to have the courage to try what you really want to do and find what you like. Then treasure it. Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way.生活不是一场赛跑,而是每一步都应该细细品尝的人生旅程。

Dead poets societyThe movie which the first time I heard is recommended by my friend, because the movie is so old that I didn’t want to watch it. But this time my teacher also recommended it, I think it must be a good movie. After watching it, I felt a little sad, not because of its end, but think o us today. There was much to think about in the film, maybe different people have different ideas.The film tells us a story of the U.S. wilton elite school in 1959.it’s a traditional and old fashioned school which like a prison. The ancient bells ushered in new semester and also ushered in a new teacher Keating. He calls himself the captain. T he captain like a lighthouse will lead students through the gloom. In his classroom, he encouraged his students to stand on the desk, with a new perspective to observe the world around. He introduces many thoughtful poetry to students, even allow students to tear up those dull textbooks. On the other hand they were encouraged to search the beauty and the real life in the poetry.Neil made me the deepest impression, he was fond of poem and the performances, but he was asked to become a doctor; he was the first one to comprehend Keating’s thought, but also he is the first one to reconstruct” Dead Poets Society" .on the stage he found his target, but strict father didn’t care about what he thought. Neil did not want to become a father expect people, but also unable to become a real himself,he chose to end his own life. Todd this closed and timid child, he never dared to show true himself, he was afraid that others evaluate him. Under the guidance of the teacher, he slowly began to bloom his own ideas. Neil's death made him grew up, when Keating was dismissed, he is the first one to stand on the table and shouted: Oh, the captain, my captain! Under his leadership other students also stand on the table, the moment was very impressive.I have learned many things from these two kids, the most difficult is to choose in our life. When reality and the ideal have contradiction, what kind of choice you will make? There will certainly be a gap between in reality and the ideal, but how we should do? The answer is to be the master of life, not the slave of life. When we have goals we should be bold to pursue. Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary. Do real ourselves, as the film said, "I went to the woods because I wanted to the live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life! To put to rout all that was not life. And not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. "。

Dead Poets Society死亡诗社精讲笔记(英文台词及注释)

Dead Poets Society死亡诗社精讲笔记KEATING: "Oh Captain, My Captain" who knows where that comes from? Anybody? Not a clue? It's from a poem by Walt Whitman about Mr. Abraham Lincoln. Now in this class you can either call me Mr. Keating. Or, if you're slightly more daring, Oh Captain, My Captain. Now let me dispel a few rumors so they don't fester into facts. Yes, I too attended Welton and survived. And no, at that time I was not the mental giant you see before you. I was the intellectual equivalent of a ninety-eight pound weakling. I would go to the beach and people would kick copies of Byron in my face. Now, Mr. Pitts? That's a rather unfortunate name. Mr. Pitts, where are you? Mr. Pitts? Would you open your hymnal to page 542 and read the first stanza of the poem you find there? PITTS: To the virgins, to make much of time?KEATING: Yes, that's the one. Somewhat appropriate, isn't it.PITTS: Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, old time is still a flying, and this same flower that smiles today, tomorrow will be dying.KEATING: Thank you Mr. Pitts. "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may." The Latin term for that sentiment is Carpe Diem. Now who knows what that means?MEEKS: Carpe Diem. That's "seize the day".KEATING: Very good, Mr.-MEEKS: Meeks.KEATING: Meeks. Another unusual name. Seize the day. Gather ye rosebuds while ye may. Why does the writer use these lines?CHARLIE: Because he's in a hurry.KEATING: No, ding!KEATING: Thank you for playing anyway. Because we are food for worms, lads. Because, believe it or not, each and every one of us in this room is one day going to stop breathing, turn cold, and die.KEATING: Now I would like you to step forward over here and peruse some of the faces from the past. You've walked past them many times. I don't think you've really looked at them. They're not that different from you, are they? Same haircuts, full of hormones, just like you. Invincible, just like you feel. The world is their oyster. They believe they're destined for great things, just like many of you. Their eyes are full of hope, just like you. Did they wait until it was too late to make from their lives even one iota of what they were capable? Because you see, gentlemen, these boys are now fertilizing daffodils. But if you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Carpe. Hear it? Carpe. Carpe. Carpe Diem. Seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary.妙词佳句,活学活用1. not a clue“毫无头绪”的意思,有时候也说成not have a clue。

To my great surprise, the school wellton is somewhat likes the schools in china nowadays, it attaches most importance on study. Though it is famous for its solemn teaching style and high enrolment rates, students there are deprived of freedom, they are on ly asked to obey the school’s discipline and get high points. That is really a tragedy.I like the teacher Keating very much. After I saw the movie, I could not help asking myself a question——is there anyone who ever changes your life, change the way you look into life and things? I do not know, but I do know some kids in wllton , their life have been changed. They learned to rethink the meaning of living and death, they learned to use their own heart and taste to appreciate poets instead of some fixed rules, they learned to look at things from different perspective. I think most people need a guide (say Keating in the film)when growing up. Luckily some people met , others , not so luckily, did not meet, and they had to learn these precious experience by themselves. That is why I like Keating.I am deeply impressed by the movie, especially the following lines“I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately, I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, and not when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived.”life is so short and full of miracles, I do not want a blanket and meaningless life either.The movie is one of the most wonderful films I have ever watched. To be honest, I were always thinking that there were few movies or stories that could indeed touch me from the bottom of my heart in the past few years .Now I have realized that there are good ones in theworld .With tears I finished enjoying the last five minutes. Alomst no words can describe my true feeling the moment the boys standing on the desks one by one calling the leaving teacher “oh, captain ,my captain .”in the saddest voice. The only thing I know is that I really like it . Yes ,the respectful teacher is their captain in their whole life .He makes thestudents know what life is .He interests them in the poets, but in fact in life . It helps me to see and understand the precious feelings between human beings better .I even have cried for a long time ,thinking of the things in the teacher’s eyes .He did not want to leave his students but he had to for his different teachig method against the traditional education system.This story talks about a famous school, a group of rich students, a great teacher and the dead poets society. A sad one that can move anyone and cause one to think of our life we are leading.Do their parents and the other teachers in the school know what the young want? Do they have an idea what their kids expect to be in the future ? Do they know what the students call this famous school ?Parents find the most students graduated from this school become somebody in their country.They hoped their kids can be like them one day.But in students’mind it’s hell .Yes, it’s the hell on the earth .The same haircut ,the same books ,the same suits,evething is the same .Do they ever think the young are not boys ,not yet men ,and all things they need are time ?It’s unfair for them to take on so much responsibility.I feel sorry for them .They are full of passion for their life but they lead a poor life .They have no right to choose their future .They parents do that for them .You grow to be a banker ,and you grow to be a doctor .They have a lot of money but they are feeling sorry for themselves .The young have done nothing wrong but they have tobe a man what their parents ask them to be .Maybe tne only thing they did is wrong is that to be their parents’s sons .Oh Capitain, my capitain! 美国诗人惠特曼在写林肯之死的时候充满了深厚的感情和敬意。

死亡诗社英语读后感简单

死亡诗社英语读后感简单I gotta say, "Dead Poets Society" really blew me away! It's not just a movie about poetry, it's about finding your voice and standing up for what you believe in. You know, when that teacher, Mr. Keating, starts encouraging the students to read poetry out loud and feel it, it's like a light bulb goes off in their heads.One thing I loved about it was how the movie showed the students growing and changing. They started off as regular high schoolers, but by the end, they were standing up for their rights and beliefs. It was inspiring to see.And those poems! They really spoke to me. It was like a window into the students' souls. You could feel their emotions and passions through the words. It made me want to pick up a pen and start writing too.But it wasn't all smooth sailing. There were challenges and conflicts too. Like when the students got into troublefor standing on their desks. That scene was intense! But it showed how important it is to stand up for what you believe in, even if it means facing consequences.In conclusion, "Dead Poets Society" is a must-watch.It's not just a movie, it's a lesson in life. It teaches us to find our.。

1,Gather ye rosebuds while ye may 英国画家John William Waterhouse,画过一幅油画《Gather Ye Rosebuds While Ye May》 ,得灵感于17世纪的一首诗"To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time" , 作者是Robert Herrick。 开头是这样写的 Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,(花开堪折直需折) Old Time is still a-flying;(时光易逝) And this same flower that smiles today(今日轻绽浅笑的花朵) Tomorrow will be dying.(明日便将凋零) 电影里Mr.Keating 上第一节课时,让学生读的就是这首。Gather ye rosebuds while ye may 用拉丁文可以表示为Carpe diem.
Todd’s Poem
I close my eyes. and this image floats beside me. A sweaty-toothed madman with a stare
that pounds my brain. His hands reach out and choke me.
Here Captain! dear father! This arm beneath your head! It is some dream that on the deck, You've fallen cold and dead.
My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still, My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will, The ship is anchor'd safe and sound, its voyage closed and done, From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
and all the time he's mumbling. Truth. Truth is like,
Like a blanket that always leaves your feet cold. You push it, stretch it, it'll never be enough.
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting, While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart! O the bleeding drops of red, Where on the deck my Captain lies,

O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done, The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won,
Fallen cold and dead.
O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells; Rise up--for you the flag is flung--for you the bugle trills, For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreaths--for you the shores a-crowding, For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun, The higher hes a-getting, The sooner will his race be run, And nearer he's to setting.
