侥幸地能在开学的前一天将《海伦·凯勒》这本书读完，合上书，有那么几分钟我只是呆呆地坐着，海伦·凯勒的自强让我敬佩，同时也使我堕入沉思：我不知道当我一个人去面对一片黑暗而无声的世界时我该怎么做?更不知道假如有那样一个时辰我能否能够跟海伦·凯勒一样的坚强?
曾听过这样一个故事，有一对兄弟，哥哥喜爱音乐，弟弟喜爱画画，忽然有一天哥哥的耳朵聋了，弟弟的眼睛盲了，谁都可以想到这对兄弟俩的打击有多大——画家不可以没有双眼，音乐家不可以得到双耳——他们开始自强不息了，他们不明白为什么上天要这样对待他们。
后来一位老者给他们提了一个建议，让他们把兴味调换一下，或许会有更大的收获，于是他们半信半疑地照做了。
一段时间后，哥哥发现耳朵聋了没什么不好，由于他可以静下心来画画，弟弟也发觉成为了一个盲人反而对他作曲更无益处。

在老师的精心指点下，小海伦经过亲自体验，学会了摸盲文，拼单词，学会了用手指“谈话”。
十岁的时候，盲哑学校的萨勒老师让小海伦靠着触觉学谈话，通过一次又一次的练习，海伦谈话的能力和他人没什么两样了。
1900年，海伦考上了大学，大学毕业后，他信念像沙利文老师一样，为更多的残疾人服务。
有的人活着，但他已经死了;有的人死了，但他还活着。

这三样东西，是人生中必要且不能缺少的。
如果得到了这三样，对一个常人来说，等于得到了生命的乐趣。
如果你是海伦，给你三地利间，你会去干什么呢?如果我是她，一定活不下去了。
再大的动力与再大的鼓力，也照不亮我心中那颗又阴又暗，又冷又湿的心。
心里只要一个念头：这样活着，生不如死，还是早一点儿完结算了。
然而，海伦的做法与我的想法恰恰相同。
