摘 要:为了帮助学生更好地学习词汇,译林版《牛津高中英语》教材设计了word power 板块。

词汇是高中英语教学的重要内容,word power 板块给教师提供了一个词汇教学平台,它一方面介绍构词方法,探寻规律,归纳学生所学单词;另一方面结合单元主题,向学生介绍一些课外的单词。

本文从word power 板块的教学策略着手,探讨高中英语的词汇教学。

但是从现实情况来看,不少英语教师忽略了该板块的教学,在教学时,只是简单地让学生浏览一些单词,并没有发挥word power 的真正作用。

新课程标准的改革对学生词汇的掌握提出了更高的要求。

教师可以结合word power 探索教学策略,帮助学生扩大词汇量,拓展知识。

2.教学策略2.1 运用呈现式教学,激发学生学习兴趣呈现式教学,这里以词汇教学为例,即在学生学习词汇前,教师利用图片、实物来呈现名词类的单词;利用肢体进行动作演示,呈现动词类的单词;采用联系上下文、例句或下定义的方式呈现概念性的单词。

呈现方式有很多种类,因此,教师在使用呈现方式时,应选择对应的呈现内容,即保持一致性;要考虑到学生的认知能力和水平,寻找适合的呈现方式。

例如,在教模块一高一上学期U n i t 2的w o r d power 时,该模块的主要内容是让学生了解英美两国英语的异同,笔者从英式英语和美式英语的发音差异出发,给学生分别看了英国和美国的喜剧片段,要求学生关注影视片段中主人公的发音特点,此外提醒学生注意a 、o 、r 等英文字母在单词中的发音。

影视作品的播放激发了学生的学习兴趣,学生纷纷从影视作品中找到了一些规律,比如:在ask 、dance 、half 、path 这一类单词中,英国人把字母a 读作[ ],而美国人则读成[ ];再如,在doctor 、teacher 这一类单词中,美国人读时会有明显的[ ]音。
