SCOPETest provides an accelerated means of simulating effects of washing vehicle using rotary brush equipĆment.
2PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS2.1Specimen preparation
2.1.1Prepare specimens with dimensions 150 x 70 or 100x 200 mm from painted components (plastic compoĆnents and metal and/or plastic backing) as per Procurement Specifications 9.55772, 9.55776/01,9.55776/02,9.55777, 9.55778/01, 9.55842/01, and 9.03140/09.
3TEST PROCEDURE3.1Test environment (unless otherwise specified)
Temperature :23 ± 5 °CAtmospheric pressure :860 to 1060 mbarRelative humidity :45 to 70 %
3.2Using pulse counter, set the number of times which painted specimen is to be brushed. If not otherwiseindicated on applicable Procurement Specification, specimen shall be subjected to a total of 80 passes, including 50 with automotive detergent and 30 with mains water.
NOTE:Each, pass corresponds to one complete brush stroke forward and backward. Brushes shall bechanged every 500 hours of operation. Quality of bristle material is guaranteed by Supplier.
3.3Position specimen in seat on tester.
3.4Set spray pump and brush rotation selectors to automatic position.
3.5Using solenoid valve-controlled pneumatic cylinder, bring brush into contact with specimen.
3.6Start brush rotation, spray pump and specimen carriage forward-back movement (brush thrust on speĆcimen is provided by a 7 kg mass).
3.7Upon reaching set number of passes, stop pump, brush rotation and specimen carriage.
3.8Remove specimen and blow dry with compressed air.
