I have been studying at university (大学) for one year now. I have really enjoyed living away from home and I think I have grown up a lot.
My family have changed too. I’ve come home this weekend for my little sister’s birthday. It has surprised me to see how much everything has changed.

During my third year of teaching fourth-graders, a new student Mary came to my class.
I said “hello” to her, but there was no reply. "Mary," I said again, slowly and clearly. She raised her head and looked into my eyes. The smile on my face froze. The eyes in that sweet, little-girl face were strangely empty.
