小美把最后一碟菜端了上来,看着满桌子亲手做的佳肴,她笑了。心想今天是妈妈的生日,肯定能给她一个惊喜。

楼道里传来的脚步声,小美的母亲拖着疲惫的身子进了家门。看到一桌子的饭菜,不禁大吃一惊。

“这,这些东西是哪来的?”

“妈妈,是我买的亲自下厨做的。祝您……”

啪!一记耳光狠狠地抽了过来。

“你这个败家子儿,你爸走得早,我拉扯着个家容易吗?我还纳闷怎么找不到放在窗台上的钱了,原来是被你这么大手大脚地给挥霍了!你说说你对得起我吗?你怎么就这么馋!”

小美捂着有如火燎般灼痛的脸,泪水就象断了线的珠子。

“我没拿你的钱!”

说完,她冲进自己的卧室,趴到床上撕心裂肺的哭起来。

星期一,晚上妈妈加班,给了小美一些零钱,让她在外面买点东西吃。下课后,小美摸了摸肚子,然后接了杯开水一饮而进,把几张皱巴巴的的钱展平,夹进了书里。星期二,一早起来,妈妈已经上班了。小美泡了包方便面,津津有味地吃个精光,临走前又往书包里塞了一袋……

星期日下午,母女俩恰好都休假。小美一放学就往菜市场跑,兴高采烈地拎着大包小包赶回家……
