一、实践能力的培养目标。

《口译与听力》是英语本科高年级阶段开设的英语基本技能课程。本课程要求学生具备一定的听力基础和口语表达能力:要求学生能够克服听力障碍,听懂(非)英语国家人士在一般社交场合的交谈和相当于中等难度的听力材料,能理解大意、抓住主要论点或情节,能根据所听材料进行分析、领会说话人的态度、感情和真实意图,并用英语简要地做笔记;在口语表达方面,要求学生能在一般社交场合与英语国家人士交谈,做到正确表达思想,语音、语调自然,无重大语法错误,语言基本得体,能就所熟悉的话题进行交流,能比较流畅和准确地向外宾介绍国内的名胜古迹、我国当前的形势和政策方针,能比较系统、深入、连贯地发表自己的见解等。

本课程中的听力侧重于对源语信息的分析与短期记忆的训练,并通过讲授口译基本理论、口译背景知识和训练口译的基本技巧,使学生掌握口译的基本理论和专题连续传译的技能,初步学会口译记忆方法、口头概述,口译笔记及公众演讲技巧,以求学生能较准确、流畅地进行汉英对译。

二、实践(技能)课程教学基本要求。(含学时、学分要求)

《口译与听力》是体现语言综合素质的一门课程,与其他的英语专业课程相辅相成。作为一门实践课程,《口译与听力》有赖于其他如《综合英语》、《高级英语》、《听力》、《口语》、《英语国家概况》、《大学语文》等课程为应考生打好基本功。只有在掌握一定词汇量、一定的知识面和较好的综合语言技能的前提下,才有可能具备口译的条件和能力。

本课程的目的在于通过对该课程的系统学习,并通过大量的课堂练习和不间断的社会实践,使应考生掌握基本的口译技巧,了解口译的性质,能够担任一般的英汉、汉英口译任务。本课程学分为6分,计划教学学时为108,同时要求应考生自主学习时间不低于108学时。

在本课程教学过程中,还应注意:

①助学单位要把握正确的助学导向。助学单位要鼓励辅导教师遵循自学考试大纲规定的考试内容和考核目标,认真研究指定教材,明确本课程的特点、学习范围和学习要求,对应考生进行切合需要的辅导,并从学习方法上给予指导,特别要注意引导应考生全面系统地掌握课程内容,不猜题、押题,防止把“助学”变成“助考”。

②助学单位要正确处理一般和重点的关系。口译实践涉及的问题是多方面多层次的,除了正常的语言能力还需要口译技巧和平日的知识积累,但由于条件所限,指定教材中所能够重点讨论的问题十分有限。一般和重点是相互联系、密不可分的,把握不住全部不可能掌握重点,这也是质和量的关系。因此,社会助学

单位应知道应考生全面系统地学习教材,在全面学习的基础上,再进行重点指导。要引导应考生把全面理解和重点深入探讨结合起来,切记孤立地抓重点。

③助学单位要鼓励应考生独立完成课上和课下作业,并按照前面所讲的学习方法对他们提出要求。提醒应考生独立完成作业的重要性,虽然辅导教材提供了部分译文和答案,但不要依次为唯一标准,全面背诵,抄之了事。要向他们讲解清楚,口译的灵活性是非常大的,很多句子可以有不同的表达方式。要鼓励应考生尽可能发挥主观能动性,注意锻炼和培养独立解决问题的能力,提高实际水平。

④辅导教师切勿揠苗助长。口译和听力两种技能都需要一个较长时期的训练过程,不要让应考生通过背诵参考译文来应付考试,也不要片面强调英语的重要性,因为很多情况下,汉语也同等重要。实践表明,翻译人员出现问题不仅是因为英语水平不够,而且汉语水平也未达到要求。因此辅导教师在指导应考生学习外语的同时,也要帮助他们提高汉语水平。

⑤辅导教师要善于引导应考生自主进行总结和归纳,帮助他们找出自己的问题所在。在按照指定教材的总思路进行辅导的同时,教师也应将自己的口译经历传授给应考生,给他们提供一些鲜活的例子,以便对有限的课本素材进行有益的补充。

⑥辅导教师在培养应考生语言能力和技巧的同时,也要注意培养应考生的百科知识和职业道德素养。口译人员应该有广博的知识,包括政经知识、人文知识、科技知识、商贸知识、法律知识、史地知识、国际知识、民俗知识、生活常识等;还应具备高尚的品质,讲究外事礼仪、社交礼仪和口译规范。

三、实践(技能)课程教学参考教材

本课程的指定教材为《基础口译教程》(武汉大学出版社,胡玲编著)。

课程教学参考教材为《英汉口译笔记法教程》(武汉大学出版社,汪涛编著)。

四、实践(技能)考核的场所、设备、师资要求。

本课程考核分三个部分:复述、英汉视译、汉英视译。

复述部分要求音频播放设备,考场必须具备音频播放设备,如多媒体教室或语音实验室。视译部分不需要音频播放设备。

担任实践考核的主考官应为两名,分别打分,取平均值。考官应由英语专业或翻译专业硕士学位以上学历背景、长期从事语言教学尤其是口笔译教学、有一定口译实践经验者担任,

五、实践(技能)考核的项目名称、考核目标、考核内容、考核方法。

本课程考核项目有三:复述、英汉视译、汉英视译。

1.复述

考核目标:听懂并能理解英语国家人士正常语速的发言(120-150单词/分钟),掌握教材内出现的词汇、语法项目、常用的口语表达方式等,在笔记的辅助下能够复述原语的基本信息。

考核内容:考核内容为一篇220-250字正常语速的英文发言,内容自选,尽量与教材保持一定的主题相关性。本部分分值为30分。

考核方法:录音播放三遍,应考生可做简要笔记;录音播放完毕之后,应考生可借助所做笔记进行原语复述。

2.英汉视译

考核目标:掌握英语句子的基本口译技巧,能够迅速、准确、流利地将英语句子翻译成汉语,语气、语调基本正确,用词基本得当,句法规范。

考核内容:考核内容为2个英文句子,每个句子长度在30-40字之间。本部分分值为35分。

考核方法:应考生在阅读完英语句子之后,迅速将原语转换成汉语。

3.汉英视译

考核目标:掌握汉语句子和段落的基本口译技巧,能够迅速、准确、流利地将汉语翻译成英语,语气、语调基本正确,用词基本得当,句法规范。

考核内容:考核内容为1个汉语段落,长度约为150字。本部分分值为35分。

考核方法:应考生在阅读完汉语段落之后,迅速将原语转换成英语。

口译试题选自《基础口译教程》(武汉大学出版社,胡玲编著)范围之内的考题不少于50%(听力试题内容可自定)。

难度比例分为易、较易、较难、难四档,比例为2﹕3﹕3﹕2。
