词汇的选择

新托福作文评分的第三条标准要求demonstrate syntactic varietyand appropriate wordchoice and idiomaficity，这是针对

写作中语言方面遣词的具体要求。所谓variety，要求用词丰

富;appropriate choice of words要求根据语境恰当选词;idiomatic

要求用词要注意搭配关系。但在写作中，力求满足这些要求获得高分

的前提是用词准确，简言之，即尽可能避免单词拼写错误。

1.准确性原则

影响中国学生作文得高分的障碍之一是单词拼写错误过多。错误

拼写是最低级的错误，反映了应试者对语言使用不是很谨慎，同时也

是阅卷者最忌讳看到的错误之一。有些情况下，单词拼写错误过多直

接导致阅卷直观印象下降，影响分数。在很多中国学生的作文中，出

现了像moden，morden，sociaty，enviornment等非常明显的错误拼写。虽然这些错误不至于影响理解文章，但若出现频率过高，足以让

人对作者掌握语言的准确水准产生质疑。所以，在这些情况中，作者

应尽可能不使用掌握不准确的单词。例如，现代社会能够不用modern society，而切换成nowadays或者today’S world;environment能够

用surroundings来替换，即用同、近义词(组)替换。这是实现准确性

原则最行之有效的方法。另外，在平时练习过程中，应该注意积累自

己掌握不准确的单词、容易出错的单词拼写，从而在考场中规避类似

错误。

2.多样化原则

所谓用词丰富，即用词多样化。在托福或者雅思考试中，作文篇

幅较长，分别有250或300以上的字数要求。所以，在同一篇文章中，

有些概念和表达是重复出现的，若干篇一律使用同一个单词或者短语

表达，则给人以词汇匮乏、表达单一、不能灵活使用语言的感觉，故

尽可能使用不同词汇传递相同信息。

3.根据语境选词

英语和汉语类似，都存有同义词现象，但是两种语言都有少数的

绝对同义词，因为从经济学角度讲，绝对同义词是一种不经济的现象，绝大部分同义词词群名为同义，实则异义，这就要求考生在选择同义

词时，增强辨析。

4.习惯搭配

在英语中，单词并非独立存有，往往只有彼此结合，才能构成一

定的意义。中国学生最容易犯的语言错误之一是词语搭配。因为受到

汉语思维方式的影响，为数很多的学生望文生义，肆意地根据汉语意思，把两个或几个英文单词组合，构成意念中准确的英文词组。这就

是常说的中国式英语。

综上所述，英文应试写作中遣词原则是实现作文高分的关键，只

有综合使用上述原则，才能够做到行文流畅、内容统一，最有效地传

达作者的观点。
