Plan and Design

n

The inspiration of this villa design comes from a drop of water—circle and ellipse magnifying the geometry language of this architecture. It is not only a mansion serving all the functions of a villa, but also a structure full of landscape elements.

The site is located on the seashore, and landform made it possible to shape a house in and out of the earth. Through stretching out rooms connected by corridors, the villa suits the site’s good landscape viewing of dock, forest, sea line and mountain.

Moreover, the designer paid a lot of attention to skylight design and ventilation arrangement.

Project Background

Since the Site located close to Beijing’s major roads, and the vegetation and facility are out of date, now Madian Green Space is being used as a positive open space. In such circumstance, improvements are eagerly needed in order to compensate the disadvantages brought by the city major road, more importantly, provide the users with continuous landscape experiences. This blueprint takes out the final design by fully analyzing the potential users and the site’s situation.

Site Location

The site located to the northeast of Beijing Third Ring Road’s Madian Bridge, east of Badaling High Expressway, and the west of residential and public buildings. The site is about 300 meters long, and 60 to 140 meters from the east to the west, covering a land of 4 ha.

By researching the current users in Madian Green Space, we can draw the conclusion—professionals and senior people consist the major user body. Main usage pattern is passing through, and the reason is the green space is in the vicinity of their houses or offices. Following is the analysis of intended potential activites based on the result of the research.
