Yes, I plan to find a job right after graduation.

What I learn I the real world is more important to me. For it not only helps me know the real world better, but also helps me quickly adapt to the society.

After working for several years, I would know whether I need to pursue a higher certification.

Because I also can get my master degree when I having a job.

4.Why do you think many youngsters choose to study abroad? What are the

benefits and what are the possible problems for studying abroad?

Benefits:

Studying abroad can give youngsters a chance to see the world again in a global vision.

Studying abroad can improve their language ability and let them grasp the advanced technologies.

Studying abroad can let youngsters make friends with people from different countries with different background.

Studying abroad can help youngsters build their own life and live independently.

Problems:

Studying abroad would give families a big financial burden and is not suitable for low-income families’ children.

Studying abroad means youngsters have to face the living pressure on their own because most of them have no relative abroad.

Youngsters’ studying abroad separates them and their families. So youngsters always miss their families and feel lonely.

1.In our families, what do we do to try to prevent burglaries? For example, is

there a burglar-proof door to your apartment?

Yes, there is. Having a burglar-proof door is a common way to prevent burglaries. People always feel dangerous in this high crime rate society, so almost everyone’s apartment has a burglar-proof door.

Lock our doors even when we are going out just for a few minutes, because we need to keep alert all the time.

Burglar alarm system is also a good way to prevent burglaries. If a thief enters your house, this system would call the police and your possession will be in a safe condition.

2.In our contact with the outside world, what precautions do we take to steer

clear of danger? For example, do you speak to strangers?

Yes, but I seldom speak to strangers because when I was young, my parents always told me not to speak to strangers for they maybe have an evil thought on you.

When we’re surfing on the Internet or chatting online, we shouldn’t tell strangers our personal information, especially our bank account number and password.

If we plan to travel on holidays, we’d better not go to an unfamiliar place alone. When we are on

a trip, we have to pay more attention to our valuables. And we need to always keep our cell phone

in a good condition. Because if we are in danger, a good connection on the phone can help us get out of trouble easily.

3.What do you think can be done to improve older people’s lives if their children

do not live with them?

Older people can keep a pet. If they feel lonely or miss their children, they can talk to their pets.

Although animals cannot talk to us, they do can share our happiness and sorrow for they have emotion, too.

Older people can learn how to surfing on the Internet and chatting with others so that they can see their children and talk to them on the computer if both of them have a web camera and a microphone.

Older people need to take part in some activities which can widen and intensify their relations.

They also could do regular exercise such as jogging and playing badminton, etc. To the older people, stay healthy is the most important.

4.What should be done to help unemployed people?

Re-training programs should be organized to help the unemployed people to learn new skills and help them keep up with the changing society. Solving the unemployment problem needs the effort of the whole society, including our government; the unemployed people themselves and all those who are ready to offer their help.

Our government should take some necessary measures to create more opportunities of employment for these people.

I should thank my parents for bring me this world, giving me life and educated me.

I should thank my parents for brought me up from a child who doesn’t know anything to a man

who will build his own career.

I should thank my parents for giving me the chance to experience the richness of the world.

I should thank my teachers for giving me the knowledge and improve our ability.

I should thank my teachers for teaching me the principle of life such as honesty, responsibility,

tolerance and never give up.

I should thank my friends for giving me the courage to overcome difficulties when I am in a

tough time and my mood fall down to the bottom.

I should thank my friends for bringing me tears and happiness during my growth, lighten the

darkness in my life.

To my parents, what I have done at this moment is that to care for them by giving them a call every week. I also should work hard, have a regular exercise and build a strong body. In the future, if I work in another place and cannot live with them, I plan to back home regularly and spend more time to keep them company.

To my teachers, what I have done is that sending greeting cards at Spring Festival and sending them greeting messages at Teachers’ day. I plan to write letters to them in my free time.

To my friends, what I have done is that keeping in touch with them and sending them a greeting message or a gift at their birthday. I think our friendship will last not because the money or the benefits but the time we spend together and the precious memory in our mind.

2.Are holidays a good time to express gratitude? Which holidays are the most

appropriate?

Yes, holidays are a very good time to express gratitude.

If I want to express gratitude to my parents, Mother’s day and Father’s day are the most appropriate. If I want to thank my teachers, I think Teacher’s day is the most appropriate. If I want to show my gratitude to my lover in the future, the Valentines’ day is the most appropriate.

But if I miss all of these holidays to express gratitude to them, I think the Spring Festival is also a good time to show my thanks.

3.Do you think it is necessary for the Chinese to celebrate Western festivals?

No, I don’t think so for it is not necessary. But I don’t mean that we cannot celebrate these Western festivals. I don’t think it’s necessary to find a definite answer to whether we Chinese should celebrate the foreign festivals or not. We ought to respect others’ decision instead of interference in their choices. It’s not a bad thing for the people to take advantage of the western festivals, entertaining themselves, getting together and exchanging greetings.

But as we all know that we have a lot of traditional festivals are now forgotten by some people of our generation. They have lost their interest in our traditional festivals such as Tomb-sweeping day, Dragon-boat festival, Double Ninth Festival, etc. In general, the Chinese young men almost don’t know the profound implications of our traditional Chinese festivals. Instead they are familiar with the western festivals and go after them like a flock of ducks. Obviously, this is a situation that we do not want to see.

I think i t is right to lay emphasis on our traditional festivals but it’s not proper to reject the foreign

ones on this account. In fact, western festivals like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, which have taken root in our country and becoming popular festivals among our people.

They are a good time to express our gratitude to our relatives.

All in all, it’s natural for the Chinese people, especially our young people, to take part in the western festival activities, relaxing and relieving themselves. I think if you are interested in the celebration of the western festivals, just join it and enjoy yourself. If you are not interested in it, you can ignore them but don’t complain and make criticism.

4.It is sometimes claimed that many festivals have been created just to

encourage people to spend money. Do you agree?

No, I don’t agree with that.

It is common knowledge that every nation has its own special festivals with colorful backgrounds,

which are closely connected with its special history or excellent culture. So festivals are the products of the sedimentary accretion of a nation’s culture over thousands of years. Some people think so, as you just said, is probably because people often spend much money during a festival.

Well, I think people spend more money during a festival than at normal times is reasonable because it needs money to buy different things to celebrate a festival. To the businessmen, festivals are a good time to increase income. To the consumers, they also are willing to pay at this special time. The view that festivals only have been created to encourage people to spend money is too simple and too narrow. I think people spend more money during a festival is a win-win situation to the whole society.

1.Is it enough to help only those people we know?

Well, I think that depends.

The pre-requisite of helping others is that you are a man who can offer help. The most important thing to measure it’s enough or not is that your personal ability. If you are a man who needs help, there is no need for us to talk about this issue. If you are a merchant who has a high income, I think it’s not enough to help only those people you know. If you are a student who has no income and needs parents’ money to live, I think it’s enough to help those people you know. Using one sentence to conclude my idea is that ‘w ith great power, comes great responsibility’.

2.What is the relationship between one’s attitude to life and one’s fate? Does the

former determine the latter or is it the other way round?

Well, I think our life is truly in the hands of fate from the day we are born because we cannot choose our parents and it has no relationship with our attitude to life. But when we are born to the world, we get the chance to choose the attitude to life which will partly determines our latter life.

As time goes by, the attitude you choose will show an impact on your life and your fate will be changed to some degree. But your attitude to life is only one cause to your fate, not the direct cause.

Yes, to a large extend, I think the former determines the latter. Because what you did in the former has a direct impact on your latter just like if I keep doing exercise for one hour, of course,

I will have a strong body one or two years later. But if I am a good student in the university, does

that mean I will have a high paid job in the future? I think it also related to your personal fate. 3.Do you think success is due more to luck and opportunity or to diligence? Why?

In my opinion, luck, opportunity and diligence are all important to success, but success is due more to one’s diligence.

Generally speaking, there are plenty of opportunities for everyone in our society, but only those who are prepared adequately and diligent can make use of them to achieve their purpose.

Opportunities only come to the well-prepared person who bears perseverance and perspiration and it can be created by diligent people. Diligence is the fundamental pre-condition, which can change opportunity into success. Diligence is the first key factor to success, that is, to be diligent means to work with full energy and think with full effort. To be diligent means to practice with complete dedication and constant searching for a better method. Diligence helps us remove ignorance, overcome difficulties, and enlighten our minds. There is no doubt that if you want to achieve something or intend to fulfill one of your ambitions, you must work hard, make efforts and get prepared. Otherwise, you will take no advantage of opportunities when they come to visit you.
