1、白色山茶花（席慕容）
山茶又开了，那样洁白而又美丽的花朵，开了满树。
每次，我都不能无视地走过一棵开花的树。那样洁白温润的花朵，从青绿的小芽儿开始，到越来越饱满，到慢慢地绽放；从半圆，到将圆，到满圆。花开的时候，你如果肯仔细地去端详，你就能明白它所说的每一句话。就因为每一朵花只能开一次，所以，它就极为小心地绝不错一步，满树的花，就没有一朵开错了的。它们是那样慎重和认真地迎接着唯一的一次春天。
所以，我每次走过一探开花的树，都不得不惊讶与屏息于生命的美丽。
2、天窗（茅盾）
乡下的房子只有前面一排木板窗。暖和的晴天，木板窗扇扇开直，光线和空气都有了。
碰着大风大雨，或者北风虎虎地叫的冬天，木板窗只好关起来，屋子里就黑得在地洞里似的。
于是乡下人在屋面开一个小方洞，装一块玻璃，叫做天窗。
夏天阵雨来时，孩子们顶喜欢在雨里跑跳，仰着脸看闪电，然而大人们偏就不许，“到屋里来呀！”孩子们跟着木板窗的关闭也就被关在地洞似的屋里了；这时候，小小的天窗是唯一的慰藉。
从那小小的玻璃，你会看见雨脚在那里卜落卜落跳，你会看见带子似的闪电一瞥；你想象到这雨，这风，这雷，这电，怎样猛烈地扫荡了这世界。你想象它们的威力比你在露天真实感到的要大这么十倍百倍。小小的天窗会使你的想象锐利起来！
晚上，当你被逼着上床去“休息”的时候，也许你还忘不了月光下的草地河滩。你偷偷地从帐子里伸出头来，仰起了脸，这时候，小小的天窗又是你唯一的慰藉！
你会从那小玻璃上面的一粒星，一朵云，想象到无数闪闪烁烁可爱的星，无数象山似的，马似的，巨人似的，奇幻的云彩；你会从那小玻璃上面掠过的一条黑影想象到这也许是灰色的蝙蝠，也许是会唱歌的夜莺，也许是恶霸似的猫头鹰……总之，美丽的神奇的夜的世界的一切，立刻会在你的想象中展开。
啊唷唷！这小小一方的空白是神奇的！它会使你看见了若不是有了它你就想不起来的宇
宙的秘密；它会使你想到了若不是有了它你就永远不会联想到的种种事件！
发明这“天窗”的大人们，是应得感谢的。因为活泼会想的孩子们会知道怎样从“无”中看出“有”，从“虚”中看出“实”，比任凭他们看到的更真切，更阔达，更复杂，更确实！
3、梨花（许地山）
她们还在园里玩，也不理会细雨丝丝穿入她们的罗衣。池边梨花的颜色被洗得更白净了。但朵朵都懒懒地垂着。
姐姐说：“你看，花儿都倦得要睡了！”
“待我来摇醒他们。”姐姐不及发言，妹妹的手早已抓住树枝摇了几下。花瓣和水珠纷纷地落下来，铺得银片满地，煞是好玩。
妹妹说：“好玩啊，花瓣一离开树枝，就活动起来了！”
“活动什么？你看，花儿的泪都滴在我身上哪。”姐姐说这话时，带着几分怒气，推了妹妹一下。她接着说：“我不和你玩了，你自己在这里吧。”
妹妹见姐姐走了，直站在树下出神。停了半晌，老妈子走来，牵着她，一边走着，说：“你看，你的衣服都湿透了，在阴雨天，每日要换几次衣服，叫人到哪里找太阳给你晒去呢？”
落下来的花瓣，有些被她们的鞋印入泥中；有些粘在妹妹身上，被她带走；有些浮在池面，被鱼儿衔入水里。那多情的燕子不歇地把鞋印上的残瓣和软泥一同衔在口中，到梁间去，构成他们的香巢。
4、多彩的森林（柴德森）
大自然中最神秘的莫过森林了，森林里最丰富的莫过色彩了！清晨是苏醒的色彩。
远山从青白的天宇隐约透出轮廓，嫩绿的林木披着晶莹的露珠，曲曲弯弯的河水沏了浓酽的香，澄黄而又清澈。雪白的卵石铺了一层河底，河水静悄悄地走过。苏醒的色调需要音响作陪衬，一只翠鸟叽叽喳喳地在树头上唱着歌……
正午是奔放的色彩。
黛色的山峦把湛蓝的天宇勾出波纹的花边，浓绿的林木郁郁葱葱深邃悠远，河水快步流淌，泛起刺眼的银色波光，护河红柳搭了一条朱红的长廊，暴马丁香白花绽开了，白得耀人目光。
奔放的色调恰需音响作烘托，一只桦皮船飞来了，桨翅儿把河水拍响了……
傍晚是沉思的色彩。
褐色的峰巅托着瑰丽的夕阳，夕阳把余热蒸腾为斑斓的云霞，云霞轻轻地把墨绿的林木遮掩，微风不起，水波不惊，凝重的乳白色雾气在水面上轻柔地飘动。沉思的色调更要音响作启迪，嘎嘎嘎的拖拉机履带声带着欢笑的勘测队员归来……
森林有着丰富的内涵和灵感!
色彩是森林的生命!
5、春天吹着口哨（刘湛秋）
沿着开花的土地,春天吹着口哨；从柳树上摘一片嫩叶；
从杏树上掐一朵小花，
在河里浸一浸，在风中摇一摇；于是欢快的旋律就流荡起来了。
哨音在青色的树枝上旋转，它鼓动着小叶子快快地成长。
风筝在天上飘，哨音顺着孩子的手，顺着风筝线，升到云层中去了。
呵，那里面可有蜜蜂的嗡嗡？可有百灵鸟的啼啭？可有牛的呼叫？沿着开花的土地，春天吹着口哨；从柳树上摘一片嫩叶；
从杏树上掐一朵小花在河里浸一浸，在风中摇一摇；于是欢快的旋律就流荡起来了。
它悄悄地掀开姑娘的头巾，从她们红润润的唇边溜过去。
它追赶上了马车，围着红樱的鞭子盘旋。
它吻着拖拉机的轮带，它爬上了司机小伙子的肩膀。
呵，春天吹着口哨，漫山遍野地跑；在每个人的耳朵里，灌满了一个甜蜜的声音——早！
6、金色花（泰戈尔）
假如我变成了一朵金色花，为了好玩，长在树的高枝上，笑嘻嘻地在空中摇摆，又在新叶上跳舞，妈妈，你会认识我么？
你要是叫道：“孩子，你在哪里呀？” 我暗暗地在那里匿笑，却一声儿不响。
我要悄悄地开放花瓣儿，看着你工作。
当你沐浴后，湿发披在两肩，穿过金色花的林荫，走到做祷告的小庭院时，你会嗅到这花香，却不知道这香气是从我身上来的。
当你吃过午饭，坐在窗前读《罗摩衍那》，那棵树的阴影落在你的头发与膝上时，我便要
将我小小的影子投在你的书页上，正投在你所读的地方。
但是你会猜得出这就是你孩子的小小影子吗？
当你黄昏时拿了灯到牛棚里去，我便要突然地再落到地上来，又成了你的孩子，求你讲故事给我听。“你到哪里去了，你这坏孩子？”“我不告诉你，妈妈。”这就是你同我那时所要说的话了。
7、歌溪（吴然）
这是一条爱唱歌的溪流，村里的人们叫它“歌溪”。
歌溪的水多么清，多么凉啊！它从很远的山涧里流出来，它的两岸，是浓密的树林。
有一段，它的水是银亮的，闪着光，从长满苔藓的山崖上跳下来，溅起一蓬一蓬亮晶晶的水花。它在那里积了很深的水潭。歌溪的这一段像一个调皮的、不懂事的孩子，它的歌声有点粗野。
顺着一条光滑的石板，潭里的水急速地向下流淌。石板上披覆着长长的青苔，像鲜绿的丝线，又像姐姐的长发。歌溪的这一段像一个活泼的孩子，它的歌充满了欢乐。
慢慢地，歌溪变得文静起来。它静静地流着，流着。啊！它的水变得绿盈盈的了，是那掩映着歌溪的团团绿树化的吧？歌溪的歌声变得非常美妙。那一路的绿树林里，有无数的鸟儿在合唱。金翅鸟、杜鹃鸟、画眉鸟，这些有名的鸟中歌手，自然是最活跃的。无数的鸟的叫声在鸣啭，这里“咕咕”，那里“喳喳”，一片喜歌！就是嗓音很粗的大山雀、白头翁，也少不了要表演一番低音独唱，把“咕嘟噜，咕嘟噜”的叫声，拖得老长老长的。找工雀、布谷鸟的歌声，有时会盖过许多鸟儿的合唱。不过，谁也不会说它们骄傲。
更快乐的日子，是在夏天。歌溪这时涨水了，可还是那么清！它打着漩，在水面上泛起一圈一圈浮雕一般的花纹。脱光衣服，大声笑着，叫着，我们跳进水里去了，水花溅得老高！本来就活蹦乱跳的歌溪，响起一片打水声，笑声，喷鼻子声，以及故意的乱喊乱叫声，整个歌溪越发欢腾了。
我们比赛着游到对面，爬到一片被太阳晒得发烫的大石板上，平躺着，翻扑着身子，让太阳猛晒！晒够了，或一个跟着一个，或争先恐后地直往水里跳。扑通，扑通，歌溪里立即出现许多黑黑的小脑袋。我们一任自己高兴，在水里翻筋斗，侧身游，仰面游，吼声叫，欢声笑，虽然被水呛得咳嗽，却还在撒欢地打水仗，水花在阳光下闪耀！
有时候，我喜欢一个人仰面朝天，躺在水上，任凭歌溪载着，随意漂流。我穿过浓密的
树阴，柔软的柳条拂着我的脸，无比的凉爽使我有些害怕。稍稍闭一下眼睛，穿过树阴，我看着湛蓝的天空，一团一团的云朵，白得耀眼，在慢慢地移动。两岸闪着太阳的金光，鸟儿唱着，知了叫着，同伴们欢笑着。我不由得一个翻身，想一把抱住歌溪……

The road to success It is well that young men should begin at the beginning and occupy the most subordinate positions. Many of the leading businessmen of Pittsburgh had a serious responsibility thrust upon them at the very threshold of their business lives sweeping out of the office. I notice we have janitors and janitresses now in offices, and our young men unfortunately miss that salutary branch of business education. But if by chance the professional sweeper is absent any morning, the boy who has the genius of the future partner in him will not hesitate to try his hand at the broom. It does not hurt the newest comer to sweep out the office if necessary. I was one of those sweepers myself. Assuming that you have all obtained employment and are fairly started, my advice to you is “aim high”. I would not give a fig for the young man who does not already see himself the partner or the head of an important firm. Do not rest content for a moment in your thoughts as head clerk, or foreman, or general manager in any concern, no matter how extensive. Say to yourself, “my place is at the top”. Be king in your dreams. And there is the prime condition of success, the great secret: concentrate your energy, thought, and capital exclusively upon the business in which you are engaged. Having begun in one line, resolve to fight it out on the line, to lead in it, adopt every improvement, have the best machinery, and know the most about it. The concerns which fail are those which have scattered their capital, which means that they have scattered their brains also. They have investments in this, or that, or the other, here, there, and everywhere. “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.” is all wrong. I tell you to “put all your eggs in one basket, and then watch that basket.” Look round you and take notice, men who do that not often fail. It is easy to watch and carry too many baskets that break most eggs in this country. He who carries three baskets must put one on his head, which is apt to tumble and trip him up. One fault of the American businessman is lack of concentration. To summarize what I have said: aim for the highest; never enter a bar room; do not touch liquor, or if at all only at meals; never speculate; never indorse beyond your surplus cash fund; make the firm’s interest yours; break orders always to save owners; concentrate; put all your eggs in one basket, and watch that basket; expenditure always within revenue; lastly, be not impatient, for as Emerson says, “no one can cheat you out of ultimate success but yourself.”
