【提示】for example作“例如”讲时,

一般只以同类事物或人中的“一个”为例,作插入语,用逗号隔开,可置于句首、句中或句末。

e.g. For example, air has no colour. 例如,空气是无色透明的。

批注:很对孩子弄不清楚for example和such as 的区别,可以给孩子举恰当的例子,方便孩子理解。

4. Canada n. 加拿大

【词性转换】Canadian n. & adj. 加拿大人;加拿大(人)的(它可数否?答:可数)

(它的复数怎么变?答:直接加s)e.g. I am Canadian. 我是加拿大人。

(这里的Canadian是形容词,相当于I am from Canada. 我来自加拿大)e.g. I am a Canadian. 我是一个加拿大人。

(这里的Canadian是名词,表示“加拿大人”,因此前面加上不定冠词a)【注意】Canadian的复数形式是Canadians

批注:细心的老师会发现,这课的重点是不同国家名称及某国人的形式,个人觉得在教学课程中,要帮助孩子总结规律,这是个人在教学中总结的规律,有不全面的地方,“中国日本单复同,英国法国man 变men,其他全部加s”

e.g. Richard is American, John is British – they have different nationalities.

批注:可以问问孩子是否有出国玩过,如果去过,问问他是否关注过自己的护照,然后跟孩子强调,问“你是哪国人”的时候,要使用形容词,即要用Chinese, American等来回答。

【提示】以-self或-selves结尾的这一类代词称为“反身代词”,常常用来表示“某人自己”的意思。e.g. How long were you by yourself in the classroom? 你独自一人在教室里待了多长时间?

【反义】senior adj. 高等的;高级的;年长的 e.g. She teaches a junior class. 她教一个低年级班。

二、重要句型Important Sentences structures

1. Over six million people live in Garden City. 600多万人居住在花园城。

★over在本例中作副词用,意思与more than相近,是“超过;多于”的意思,常常放在数词的前面。

e.g. There are over 5,000 adjectives in that dictionary. 那本词典中有5,000多个形容词。

2. ---What do we call people from Canada? 我们如何称呼来自加拿大的人呢?

--- We call them Canadians.

★对话中的call意为“把……称作”。

e.g. His name is Richard but we all call him Dick. 他的名字叫理查德,但是我们都称他为狄克。

批注:用正在上课的你的学生做例子,问他/她“我有一个名叫XXX的学生”的句子,如果要翻译成英语要怎么办?PS:提这个问题的目的是要让孩子知道,以后他们在听力或者单选中可能会遇到called/named放在某一个名词之后作后置定语。

3. We can also read about them in magazines and newspapers.

我们同样可以通过阅读杂志和报纸了解这些国家。

★read about意为“读到过……;通过阅读了解......”。如:

e.g. I have read about the accident in that factory. 我已经到过那家工厂发生的那起事故。

【注意】表示“在报纸、杂志上”时,介词用“in”,而不用“on”。

4. What would you like to know about your pen friend? 你想了解笔友哪些方面的情况?

【比较】know 与know about

know表示“认识;知道”,而know about表示“知道关于……的事情”

e.g. I know that man over there. 我认识那边的那个人。

Do you know about Jay Chou? 你知道周杰伦吗?

5. Pen friends International sent your name to my school. 国际笔友会把你的名字寄到了我校。

★send sth. to sb. 与send sb. sth意思一致,都是“把……寄给……”的意思。

e.g. Thank you for sending me those photos. 感谢你把那些照片寄给我。

= Thank you for sending those photos to me.

6. I got to Rose Garden School. 我就读于玫瑰花园学校。

★got to school是“上学;读书”的意思。school前不能加定冠词the。如使用go to the school, 则表示“去学校”,无“上学;读书”的含义。

Unit 1 Writing a travel guide 1教学目标 By the end of the lesson, the Sts will… be able to further practise describing a place and know more about Shanghai. be able to develop their speaking ability of fluency by describing a scenic spo t. 2学情分析 The learners are the students form Class Twelve, Grade Seven of North Jincai Se condary School. They have been learning English for 7 years, so they are of dif ferent levels. Quite a few students are quite excellent. They do well in both s peaking and writing. They are very active in class. But some students are at a lower English level. However, sometimes they can speak a little in class. What they need is a language environment. Therefore, group work in class is helpful for them to take an active part in the class. 3重点难点 This is ‘more practice’ part of Module One. The topic is A One-day Tour Plan. We have talked about some famous places in the previous period, so the students have learned some expressions. There will be a language environment created fo r them so as to encourage more of them to talk about scenic spots and their tou r plans. Key phrases and sentence structures are familiar to students. But it will be a little hard for them to organize language with much new information. So teacher can take fully advantage of group work. The students may have difficulty in li stening to the French in the second part because of the accent.
