Analysis of Daisy Miller
Analysis of Daisy Miller Henry James was one of the British and American literary realism literature masters in nineteenth century. In 1879, the publication of the Daisy Miller brought him his first international fame. And the theme of the novel is the collision between Europe culture and America culture (the new world and the old world). Literally, Daisy miller means daisies, such characters naming ingenuity. Daisy, who also is simple, naive, and lower educated. Even if it is her first on stage, also through his brother with a call: "My elder sister is coming!" Along with the development of the plots, we may guess: her family is a U.S. industrial new rich (her brother Randolph says: "My father is very rich."), but the tunnel vision, ignorance of the Winterburn introduced the European history, she has no interest in culture. His brother even suspected that Europe does not have candy. As a European descent offspring, they are almost blank to their own cultural origin understanding. So that she always frustrated in communicating with Europe and the European and American nationals of stubborn brings (Such as Winterburn and his aunt Tele). And on the other hand, from the new world Daisy likes pure water. She despised the grading system, laughed at Europe land around her which suffocating old behaviors, and even boldly to abolish the inhuman system. 1. Abstract This Application Note describes the basic principle of the S erial P eripheral I nterface (SPI) used in many Smart Power ICs and the different ways in which it can be used for communication with different ICs. The "daisy chain" bus configuration will be described in detail. 2. Introduction Complex integrated Smart Power devices can not only control (turn on/off) the power output stages, they can also provide configurable functions and detailed diagnostic of various fault conditions. To handle all this by direct control lines or hardwired configuration would mean a lot of external components and pins. To increase functionality and at the same time reduce the amount of additional components a Serial Peripheral Interface is integrated in modern Smart Power ICs. This SPI is a synchronous serial bus interface for receiving and sending data. If more than one IC with SPI is controlled by, e.g., a μC there are different ways to connect them, depending on the requirements of the application. 3. The SPI 3.1. General The SPI is a synchronous serial interface for control and data transfer between a master and several slaves. The interface consists of 4 ports:Serial Clock (CLK): Input for the master clock signal. The clock signal determines the speed of the data transfer and all receiving and sending is done synchronous (clocks the internal SPI shift register and the output driver) to this signal. Chip Select (CS): CS activates the SPI interface. As long as CS is high, the IC will not accept the clock signal or data and the output SO is in tristate. Whenever the pin is in a logic low state, data can be transferred from the μC and vice versa (low active signal). Serial Input (SI): Serial input port of the SPI shift register. SI information is read in on the rising edge of CLK into the internal shift register. On the rising edge of the CS the input data is latched into the internal registers of the logic. Serial output (SO): Serial output port of the SPI shift register. Diagnostic data bits are shifted out serially at this pin. SO is in a high impedance state until the CS pin goes to a logic low state. New diagnostic data will appear at the SO pin following the falling edge of CLK . 3.2. Functional description The "core" of the SPI is the shift register that is used to receive the data from the μC and to write back the diagnostic information. This register can be of different lengths (e.g. 8 Bit ). Two basic concepts can be distinguished. I. The SPI is only using one shift register that is connected serial to SI/SO and parallel to the internal logic and diagnostic registers of the IC. II. Two independent shift registers for data-input (SI) and data-output (SO) are used. Henry James uses Daisy's story to discuss what he thinks Europeans and Americans believe about each other, and more generally the prejudices common in any culture. In a letter James said that Daisy is the victim of a "social rumpus" that goes on either over her head or beneath her notice. Annie "Daisy" Miller and Frederick Winterbourne are introduced by Randolph Miller, Daisy's 9-year-old brother. They first meet each other in Vevey, in a garden of a hotel where Winterbourne is allegedly vacationing. Her brother do think their society is superior to all of Europe .But Daisy is surprisingly delighted with the this continent. She also long to join in the European high society. Winterbourne is bewildered by her attitude as a girl towards everything firstly, and he gradually discovers that she is nothing more than a young flirt. However, he also find he falls love with this young and impressively beautiful lady. And he still purse her regardless of the disagree of his aunt, Mrs. Costello, who spurns any family with so close a relationship to their courier as the Millers have with their Eugenio. She also holds the view that Daisy is a shameless girl since she agrees to visit the Chateau with Winterbourne after they have met each other for only half an hour. The next day, they travel to Chateau together. Although Winterbourne had paid the janitor for privacy, Daisy do not pay too much attention to it. Then Winterbourne tells Daisy that he have to go to Geneva the next day which makes Daisy feel so disappointed and sad. She chaffs him, asking him whether he would like to visit her in Rome that year. Eventually Winterbourne accepts that invitation. In Rome, Winterbourne and Daisy meet unexpectedly in the parlor of Mrs. Walker. She is an American expatriate and her moral values have been changed to adapt the Italian society. Rumors that Daisy meets young Italian gentlemen arise and make her socially exceptionable by European criteria. Winterbourne continues to learn Daisy is increasing intimacy with a young Italian who is a third-rate person in the society, Giovanelli, as well as the growing scandal caused by their unusual behavior. Daisy is undeterred by the open disapproval of the other Americans in Rome, and her mother seemingly does not notice the underlying questions. Winterbourne and Mrs. Walker try their attempt to persuade Daisy to leave Giovanelli. However, she refuses the so-called help that is offered by Winterbourne and Mrs. Walker.

Daisy雏菊英文介绍
PanAsia lives with Daisy. This ballyhooed Korean film screams quality from the get-go. Not only does it star the inestimable Sassy Girl herself, Jeon Ji-Hyun, but it's got a story from My Sassy Girl mastermind Kwak Jae-Yong, plus it features a killer duo of actors in Jung Woo-Sung and Lee Sung-Jae. The crossover occurs with Hong Kong director Andrew Lau, who's been on an insane streak since he made the Infernal Affairs series and Initial D. The Amsterdam location and genre-friendly hitman-with-a-heart storyline only intensify any notion of this being a must-see Asian film. Better check those expectations pronto; the actors are fine and the film looks great, but that's as good as it gets. Jeon Ji-Hyun is Hye-Young, a young painter who works at her grandfather's antique shop in Amsterdam, and makes some money on the side sketching portraits for tourists. She ends up falling in love with Jeong-Woo (Lee Sung-Jae), who she mistakenly believes to be the guy who sends her daisies on a weekly basis. Jeong-Woo is actually an Interpol agent specializing in Asian criminals, and not a daisy-delivering romantic, though his growing affection for Hye-Young makes it hard to come clean. Jeong-Woo also must eventually face off against the real daisy guy: Park-Yi (Jung Woo-Sung), a soulful hitman who has pined for Hye-Young ever since he spied her painting daisies in the countryside. Through myriad manufactured circumstances, the two men meet and become rivals over love and the law. Meanwhile, Hye-Young cries in the background, clueless as to who her promised daisy guy really is. If you're looking for good filmmaking, you just might join Hye-Young in her tears. While possessing stunning production values and some fine performances, Daisy goes to hell pretty damn quick thanks to superficial direction, obvious voiceover, and events that are mind-blowing in their sheer stupidity. The film starts promisingly enough. The characters are introduced effectively, and the first action sequence is kinetic and exciting. The actors are charismatic and likable, especially Lee Sung-Jae, who gives his third-wheel cop character both humanity and heart. And the location and cinematography are aces. As a music video - or a tourism commercial for Amsterdam - Daisy is supreme stuff. There may not be a better-looking movie this year. The problem is that's all on the surface. Outwardly, Daisy presents quality, but the interior of the film is startlingly routine and even laughable. First of all, nothing is left to the viewer's imagination.
