不过在语流中，有些人也会像唱歌跑调一样，出现语音、语调的问题。
语流(the flow of speech)是一连串有连贯意义的语音。
在英语语流中有一系列规则和技巧，掌握好这些规则和技巧才能使我们的读音悦耳动听。
本书前三个部分都是在进行基础音素的训练，其中已经包括了一些基本语音规则的训练，如：辅音连缀、失去爆破和不完全爆破等等。
从这一部分开始，我们将综合训练运用各种读音规则和朗读技巧，达到表达自然、流畅和准确的效果。
语流的训练主要分为体现读音规则和运用朗读技巧。
英语语流中的读音规则和朗读技巧主要包括：音的组合：如，前面学习过的元音和辅音的单音及音的组合、辅音连缀、失去爆破和不完全爆破(incomplete plosion)，以及后面要学习到的连读(liaison)等一些读音规则。
音的节奏：如，音节(syllable)的划分，重读音节和非重读音节；单词重音(word stress)和句子重音(sentence stress)，强读和弱读(strong and weak forms)，句子节奏(rhythm)和节奏群，停顿(pausing)等等。
语流中的语调：语调群和语调的核心。
音节知识点在语流中，音节是英语单词的基本单位。
有了这一概念，才会有重读音节和非重读音节，从而产生单词重音和句子重音，带来语流中的停顿和连读，发展出句子的强读和弱读，最后形成句子的节奏和节奏群。
1. 基本概念1) 音素：语音作为单纯发音的单位，如：bee /bi:/中有/b/和/i:/两个音。
通常认为，英语有48个音素。
也有的语言学家认为英语有44个音素，/tr/, /dr/, /ts/，/dz/不算是单独的音素，而分别是由两个辅音构成的辅音连缀。

英语朗读技巧
英语朗读技巧一、读正语音语音是指语言的声音.就是人说话的声音。
语言首先是通过声音来帮助交流思想的工具。
在英语学习中很好地掌握正确的发音，不但有利于从声音方面来表达思想，而且还可以提升朗诵水平。
读正语音就必须认真读好48个音素，记住48个音标符号，能依据音标正确拼读出单词的读音，这是学习英语很重要的基本功。
也是朗诵好课文的基础。
重要的是从一开始就要努力说得一口纯正的语音。
只有多听、多模仿、多朗诵。
即Practice makes perfect(多练出真功)。
二、读准语调发音纯正，读准了单词，语调不对，不但听起来不舒适，英美人甚至难以听懂言者的意思;相反如果语调正确，各别单词读不准，听起来像英语调子，英美人还能从语调上猜出言者的意思，所以语调比发音更重要。
语调是说话的腔调，就是一句话里语音凹凸轻蘑的配置。
英语语调主要表现在句子重音和声调上。
语调不同，表达意思也各异。
例如：She is a baby doctor.如仅重渎babv这个词，意思是"她是儿科医生';如果同时还重读doctor则表示"她是没有经验的医生'(quite young and unexperienced doctor)。
又如thank you如果读成降调则表示感谢;如果读成升调，则毫无感谢之意，有时甚至还表示反感。
读准语调就是要读准句子的重音和声调：当然也应能抑扬顿挫地连读、弱读、失去爆破、同化等。
在朗诵时，认真模仿英语录音带提供的标准语调，保持学习，使正确的语音语调牢同地同定下来，确保今后一开口就能渎得对、读得准。
三、把握节奏英语的节奏是指英语诸音节在语流中强读和弱读的规律性。
它以"步'(foot)为基础，每句话都有假设干"步'，就好像音乐中的"小节'(bar)一样，每段乐曲都含有假设干小节。
乐曲中每个小节都以强拍开始;英语中，一般说来每一步的第一个音节都是重读音节。
