说课稿Good morning , teachers , I’m Number 8. It’s my honour to share my lesson with you . The content of my lesson is New Senior English for China student’s Book3Unit2 Festivals Around the World.I’ll be ready to begin this lesson from 5 parts.Part One Analysis of the teaching materialThis unit is about festivals around the world. By studying this unit, I’ll enable the students to know the basic knowledge about festivals around the world and how people celebrate them. The reading passage is about festivals and celebrations and holds an important position in this unit. If students learn it well, it will be easier to learn the rest part of the unit.According to the new standard curriculum and syllabus, after studying the teaching material, I think the teaching aims are the followings.Knowledge aims:Firstly, students can understand the festivals in this reading passage.Secondly, students can understand the content and structure of the lesson.Ability aims:to train students’ ability of working in pairs, in groupsto improve students’ reading ability, especially skimming, scanning,information-gathering and summarizing.Emotion or moral aimsto arose students’ interest in festivals around the world.to encourage students to be active in activities and make students to be confident.To develop the ability to cooperate with others.Let’s come to the difficult points and important points.According to the national curriculum of English and language learning theory, when teaching reading, we should encourage students to do speed reading for the first time. That’s to say, we should encourage them to read as fast as they can when they do the first reading. So the difficult points are that how to make students grasp the new words and phases, how to improve their reading skill such as scanning, skimming, information gathering and summarizing.Important points include words and phases such as beauty, harvest, take place, look forward to, day and night and so on.Part Two Teaching methodsIn my opinion, the main aims of learning English in the middle school is to develop the students abilities of learning, speaking ,reading, writing and their good sense of English. So in my lesson, I will use cooperative learning approach, communicative approach, whole language teaching method, Task-based language teaching method. I will establishan interaction between the students and teacher. I also use double activities teaching method, question and answer activity teaching method, watch and listen activity, free discussion method.I will use teaching aids, such as a computer, a projector, a tape recorder, multimedia, powerpoint , and blackboard.Party three Studying methodsSome students don’t often use English to express themselves and communicate with others. Some of them aren’t active in class because they are afraid of making mistakes. Probe study and cooperative study methods will be used in my class. Observation—imitation—practice procedure will be used in my study.Party four Teaching Procedure (step1-----step6)This is the most important part of my lecture.step1 warming upThe purpose of this step is to lead up to the topic festivals and celebrations and to get students to warm up and arouse their interest in festivals.Activity 1 Free talkI will invite students to answer the following questions:What festivals or celebrations do you have in your city or town?What part of a festival do you like best, the activies , the music, the sights, the food or the people who visit.Activity 2 picture-talking and video-music talkingDownload some pictures of Christmas and a short video from the Internet with guiding questions:Do you like Christmas?Which Christmas song do you like best?Spring Festival or Christmas, which one do you like best?Step2 Pre-reading (this step will take 5 minutes)Activity 1 look and guessIn this act ivies, students are required to look at the title(festivals and celebrations) and the pictures and guess what they will read.Activity 2 Brain-stormingIn this activity, students are encouraged to think of as many words as possible to describe the picture on Page____.The purpose of this step is to develop students’reading skill--------------predicting and present some new words in passage such as gather, agriculture, admire, encourage and so on.Step3 Reading (I will finish this part in 20 minutes)This step includes 4 activitiesActivity 1 skimmingStudents are required to go through the whole passage quickly to get the general idea and pay special attention to the first or last paragraph of the passage.The purpose of this activities is to develop students reading skill------skimming, that is, how can students get the general idea of a passage as quickly as possible.Activity 2 careful readingTask 1Let students listen to the tape carefully with their books open. During the listening process, let students pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.Task 2Let students to find main idea of each paragraph. Students can exchange their understanding of the passage with their group members.This task is to develop students reading skill-----careful reading, that is, how to find out the details of this passage and motivate students to cooperate with each other.Take paragraph2 for example:Activity 3----retellingLet students read the passage again and retell the passage by using the key words in the passage such as hunter, start, origins, and religious.The purpose of this activity is to require students grasp the passage totally. And encourage students to overcome students’shyness and encourage students to speak in public.Activity 4 Further understanding and word studyTask 1 discuss questions1 What are festivals of the dead usually for?2 What makes autumn festivals happy events?The purpose of this task is to let students grasp the passage further and better.Task 2 blank-fillingPowerpoint will be used here to do exercises.This task will let students grasp the new words and phases.Step4. practice and consolidation (I will finish this part in 7 minutes) GroupworkShow the words and phases given on the screen, using a multi—computer, then require students to make short dialogues with their partner to practice the words and phases (in memory of; dress up ; play a trick on ; arrival)I will require students to pay attention to sentence stress andintonation.GroupshowAt last, ask some groups to act their dialogue in front of the whole class.This step is employed to make students get a further understanding of these expressions.Step5 Post-reading(this step will take 7 minutes)Activity1 role-playSuppose one student is a senior high school student from America, the other is a Chinese student. They have a interview about common points between Spring Festival and Christmas.Students are encouraged to put themselves in situation and make a face-to-face interview.Activity2 DiscussionTopics may beWhat do most festivals seem to have in common?Why do you think these things might be important to people everywhere?These post-reading activities are intended to develop students’creative thinking and get them to know the importance of festivals.Step6 HomeworkTask1Write a summary of the passageThe purpose of this task is to encourage students to consolidate what they have learned.Task2Look up some more information about festivals and celebrations. Encourage students to go to the school library or get on the Internet if possible to consult related English websites on this topic.The purpose of this task is to encourage students to study English spontaneously and independently after class.Task3Write a letter to an American student Tom and tell what we usually do in Spring Festival.
