Unit 5 Grammar：The Attributive Clause(II)
【学习目标】：掌握关系副词引导定语从句的用法；
【学习重点】：掌握“介词+关系代词”引导定语从句的用法
【学习难点】：区分关系代词和关系副词
【教学过程】：
一．关系副词
1. 关系副词包括when, where, why.
1）when 表时间，在从句中作时间状语；
2）where 表地点，在从句中作地点状语；
3）why 表原因，在从句中作原因状语。

2. 关系副词的用法：
条件一：先行词是表示时间(when)、地点(where)或原因(why)的词；
条件二：从句部分缺少状语。

The time when【you first met Nelson Mandela】 was a very difficult period of your life.
先行词主 + 谓+ 宾（缺少状语）（表时间） The factory where【my father works】is very big.(表地点)
That was the reason why【he was late for work.】（表原因）

二“介词+关系代词”引导定语从句的用法。

【关键点】关系代词whom, which前介词的选择由先行词的习惯搭配或后半句动词的搭配而决定。

1.The speed at which light travels is 300000km per second.
(由先行词的习惯搭配决定) （at the speed of）
2. This is the teacher from whom I borrow the book. (borrow from)（动词词组）
3. Don’t bring the children to see the animals of which they are afraid.
