Measured when the output drops 3% below its nominal. The junction temperature, load current, and minimum input supply requirements affect the dropout level. Maximum Power DissipationThe maximum total dissipation for which the regulator will operate within its specifications.Quiescent CurrentThe quiescent current is the current which flows through the ground when the LDO operates without a load on its output: internal IC operation, bias, etc. When the LDO becomes loaded, this term is called the Ground current. It is actually the difference between the input current (measured through the LDO input pin) and the output current.Line RegulationThe change in output voltage for a change in input voltage. The measurement is made under conditions of low dissipation or by using pulse technique such that the average chip temperature is not significantly affected.Line Transient ResponseTypical over and undershoot response when input voltage is excited with a given slope.Thermal ProtectionInternal thermal shutdown circuitry is provided to protect the integrated circuit in the event that the maximum junction temperature is exceeded. When activated at typically 160°C, the regulator turns off. This feature is provided to prevent failures from accidental overheating.Maximum Package Power DissipationThe maximum power package dissipation is the power dissipation level at which the junction temperature reaches its maximum operating value, i.e. 125°C. Depending on the ambient power dissipation and thus the maximum available output current.3.25G R O U N D C U R R E N T (m A )3.05Figure 2. Higher values and lower ESR will improve the overall line transient response.Output Decoupling (C2)The NCP551 is a stable Regulator and does not require any specific Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) or a minimum output current. Capacitors exhibiting ESRs ranging from a few m W up to 3.0 W can thus safely be used. The minimum decoupling value is 0.1 m F and can be augmented to fulfill stringent load transient requirements. The regulator accepts ceramic chip capacitors as well as tantalum devices. Larger values improve noise rejection and load regulation transient response.Enable OperationThe enable pin will turn on or off the regulator. These limits of threshold are covered in the electrical specification section of this data sheet. If the enable is not used then the pin should be connected to V in .HintsPlease be sure the V in and GND lines are sufficiently wide. When the impedance of these lines is high, there is a chance to pick up noise or cause the regulator to malfunction.Set external components, especially the output capacitor,as close as possible to the circuit, and make leads as short as possible.ThermalAs power across the NCP551 increases, it might become necessary to provide some thermal relief. The maximum power dissipation supported by the device is dependent upon board design and layout. Mounting pad configuration on the PCB, the board material, and also the ambient temperature effect the rate of temperature rise for the part. This is stating that when the NCP551 has good thermal conductivity through the PCB, the junction temperature will be relatively low with high power dissipation applications. The maximum dissipation the package can handle is given by:PD +T J(max)*T AR q JAIf junction temperature is not allowed above the maximum 125°C, then the NCP551 can dissipate up to 400 mW @ 25°C.The power dissipated by the NCP551 can be calculated from the following equation:P tot +ƪV in *I gnd (I out )ƫ)[V in *V out ]*I outorV inMAX +P tot)V out *I outI GND )I outIf a 150 mA output current is needed then the ground current from the data sheet is 4.0 m A. For an NCP551SN30T1 (3.0 V), the maximum input voltage will then be 5.6 V .Battery or Unregulated VoltageFigure 20. Typical Application CircuitOFFONm FFigure 21. Current Boost RegulatorFigure 22. Current Boost Regulator withShort Circuit LimitFigure 23. Delayed Turn −onFigure 24. Input Voltages Greater than 12 VThe NCP551 series can be current boosted with a PNP transist-or. Resistor R in conjunction with V BE of the PNP determines when the pass transistor begins conducting; this circuit is not short circuit proof. Input/Output differential voltage minimum is increased by V BE of the pass resistor.Short circuit current limit is essentially set by the V BE of Q2 and R1. I SC = ((V BEQ2 − ib * R2) / R1) + I O(max) RegulatorIf a delayed turn −on is needed during power up of several volt-ages then the above schematic can be used. Resistor R, and capacitor C, will delay the turn −on of the bottom regulator.A regulated output can be achieved with input voltages that exceed the 12 V maximum rating of the NCP551 series with the addition of a simple pre −regulator circuit. Care must be taken to prevent Q1 from overheating when the regulated output (V out ) is shorted to GND .ORDERING INFORMATIONDeviceNominalOutput Voltage Marking Package Shipping†NCP551SN15T1G 1.5LAO TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & Reel NCP551SN18T1G 1.8LAP TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & Reel NCP551SN25T1G 2.5LAQ TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & Reel NCP551SN27T1G 2.7LAR TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & Reel NCP551SN28T1G 2.8LAS TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCP551SN29T1G 2.9LJL TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCP551SN30T1G 3.0LAT TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCP551SN31T1G 3.1LJM TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCP551SN32T1G 3.2LIV TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCP551SN33T1G 3.3LAU TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCP551SN50T1G 5.0LAV TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCV551SN14T1G* 1.4AAT TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCV551SN15T1G* 1.5LFZ TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCV551SN18T1G* 1.8LGA TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCV551SN25T1G* 2.5LGB TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCV551SN27T1G* 2.7LGC TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCV551SN28T1G* 2.8LGD TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCV551SN30T1G* 3.0LGE TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCV551SN31T1G* 3.1LJR TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCV551SN32T1G* 3.2LFR TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCV551SN33T1G* 3.3LGG TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCV551SN36T1G* 3.6AEJ TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCV551SN38T1G* 3.8AD5TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNCV551SN50T1G* 5.0LGF TSOP−5(Pb−Free)3000 / Tape & ReelNOTE:Additional voltages in 100 mV steps are available upon request by contacting your ON Semiconductor representative.†For information on tape and reel specifications, including part orientation and tape sizes, please refer to our T ape and Reel Packaging Specific-ations Brochure, BRD8011/D.*NCV Prefix for Automotive and Other Applications Requiring Unique Site and Control Change Requirements; AEC−Q100 Qualified and PPAP Capable.PACKAGE DIMENSIONSTSOP −5SN SUFFIX CASE 483−02ISSUE KNOTES:1.DIMENSIONING AND TOLERANCING PER ASME Y14.5M, 1994.2.CONTROLLING DIMENSION: MILLIMETERS.3.MAXIMUM LEAD THICKNESS INCLUDES LEAD FINISH THICKNESS. W e do not recommend user to disassemble the device without proper instructions and the authorization. The Manufacture Warranty will not cover the damages caused by unauthorized disassembling.3. T o prevent the device from malfunction, please make sure that your device is well connected with a direct and dedicated power supply for a stable power input. After placing your two hard disks, turn on power and press UP Button, you are with the RAID Setting mode. (Since the default setting is RAID 1 mode by factory, you do not have to reset RAID if you want to use your iR2022 with RAID 1 mode.)1. RAID 1 mode1). Place two new hard drives into iR2022.We would strongly suggest you to use two identical hard drives to get the maximum memory capacity. And if the capacities of your two hard drives are difference, iR2022 only recognizes the memory capacity at the small capacity hard drive.2). Under RAID 1 mode, two hard drives will have the identical information as one from its mirroringfeature, therefore, even though one and only one of the two hard drives failed, iR2022 will still work fine and properly. Once you replace the failed hard disk with a new one, iR2022 will automatically do rebuilding the data from the good one to the new hard disk. When the hard drive installation has been completed, insert the hard drive tray into the system horizontally and secure the latch into place.Use the preferred cable included to connect your computer to the relative interface connection on the iR2022 unit.Step 5Step 6iR2022 User ManualWhen the hardware setup for iR2022 is complete, you are now ready to turn the machine on.After the hardware installation is complete, the iR2022 will be treated as one single hard drive. When the computer is turned on, the system will retrieve the following information. 1. Device Manager Utility of Window OS will automatically detect the hard drive(s).2. You can choose to format the hard drive by using the Disk Management tool of the operating system before using the iR2022.At this point, the installation process is completely finished. The user can freely retrieve and save data to iR2o22 just like retrieving and saving data to a regular hard drive. If the user has any problemduring the operation, please refer to the Question & Answer (Q&A) section in Appendix.2. RAID 0 mode1). Place two new hard drives into iR2022.We would strongly suggest you to use two identical hard drives to get the maximum memory capacity. And if the capacities of your two hard drives are difference, iR2022 only recognizes the memory capacity at the small capacity hard drive.2). Under RAID 0 mode, the total memory capacity of iR2022 would be double from the small capacityhard drive. And also, RAID 0 mode will perform an excellent efficiency from its high data transfer rate for user to read & write data.iR2022 User Manual2. Over Heat (≥50°C)Pri HDD : OKSec HDD : OK T3. The user can periodically insert the hard drive back into iR2022 to execute automatic backup to protect the system from being hit by computer virus or to avoid the risk of having both hard drives failing at the same time. When one of the two hard drives fails in iR2022, it will issue an alert of a hard drive failure message in both LCD display and the monitoring software. User can remove the failed hard drive from the system while the system is still in operation without shutting down the machine. If the failed hard drive is replaced shortly, the system will automatically execute the Auto Rebuilding function without affecting the system operation and also any operation command from the user. When the iR2022 detects one hard drive missing or failure, the Buzzer starts BEEPING and the LCD displays the following messages :After replacing a new hard disk with the failed one, LCD displays the following messages:After few seconds from your inserting a new hard drive, LCD displays the data rebuilding progress :When iR2022 completes its rebuilding, LCD again displays the following messages :Pri HDD : OKSec HDD : OKRAID-1 degraded Pri : X Sec : OPri HDD : OK Sec HDD : Insert Rebuilding Sec →Pri 32%Pri HDD :Insert Sec HDD : OKRebuilding Pri →Sec 32%iR2022 User Manual You can install GUI software to monitor the status of iR2022. A:Q2. A:After installing iR2022, we are unable to start the computer or the computer doesn’t recognize iR2022.1. Please check whether if the readings of iR2022 LCD appears normal.2. Please check whether if the SATA Cable properly connects to the computer and whether ifthe two hard disks are functioning properly.3. If all the devices work properly but user is still unable to start the computer, it might be thesystem incompatibility problem. If such incompatibility takes place, please contact to our ************************************************.tw.Computer works fine, but iR2022 doesn’t perform right in reading/writing messagesproperly. Please first check whether if iR2022 is executing the auto REBUILDING work.If it works for REBUILDING, your iR2022 is a good device. And if it doesn’t, please follow the following two ways to find out the possible root cause:1. Please examine if your SATA cable is too long and will attenuate signal, or whether if the TwoSATA cables fail to meet the cable specification requirements.2. If the two cables meet the requirements at both the specification & length, please turn off thecomputer, remove the two hard drives from iR2022, and directly connect the hard drives to computer, format them, and then try to read/write data into them. You may find out that the hard disk (s) are with unacceptable bad sector quanty.Hard Disk Drive (HDD) FailureUnder the Mirror mode (RAID 1), what will be the total storage capacity when adding a brandnew HDD?1. The total storage capacity at your iR2022 is determined by the storage capacity of the primary HDD installed during the initial usage.2. The storage capacity will not be increased even though you replace a larger capacity new HDD.Why does the error message appear when I install the second HDD? The storage capacity of the new replaced HDD must be larger than the first HDD.Otherwise, iR2022 is unable to perform REBUILDING work.Q1.A:Q2.A:About the Auto Rebuilding FunctionWhat will happen if we turn off the computer power while iR2022 is still executing autoREBUILDING work? Under the Mirror mode (RAID 1), if computer power is off during REBUILDING work, iR2022 will still remember the percentage of its REBUILDING work, and then resume it back to its REBUILDING work while computer power is back on.Is it possible to lose data during the REBUILDING work? The REBUILDING work will automatically duplication data from one sector to another sector.Technically speaking, the data should not be lost during its REBUILDING work. However, if the original HDD is detected with too many bad sectors during the REBUILDING work, iR2022 will make hypothetical duplication instead of treating the bad sectors as HDD failure. Therefore, the data stored in the bad sectors could potentially be lost during REBUILDING work.Q1.A:Q2.A:1. 感謝您使用RAIDON 的產品。
