六年级的学生已经学了三年多的英语了,大部分学生能用简单的英语谈论一些话题,已经有了一定的知识积累和口语表达能力。

学生在四年级时已经初步学了一些中国的节日,有一部分学生能说出本课学习的圣诞节这一节日的相关内容,学生在平常生活中已经受到西方传统节日文化的影响,对节日的文化背景、文化知识都比较熟悉。

在西方节日强烈的对比下,学生很容易产生强烈的好奇心、急想了解探究的愿望。

本节课的内容是第七册书第四单元的第5课时,本课内容接近学生的生活,学生感到非常有趣。

在学生对Christmas Day 内容熟悉的基础上,让学生了解和谈论圣诞节的早晨,学生愿学,易学也乐学。
