教材分析一、知识背景及新课程、新教材(一)背景分析:本单元的教学主要是以Olympic Games为中心话题,这是高中阶段的一个重要话题。
既汇集了和奥运以及运动有关的话题,同时操练了学生对于兴趣和爱好的表达。
体现了新课标中对语言技能、语言知识、情感态度、和文化意识等素养整体发展的要求。
本节课Using Language 是本单元的第二篇阅读内容。
课文内容是对第一篇阅读的文化背景的一个延伸,但又增加了对听、说和写的要求。
其目的正是为了让学生更广泛地了解有关Olympic Games及其背景知识,并激发学生的阅读兴趣和参与体育运动的热情。
这也体现了教材编写的时代性原则和思想性原则。
(二)教材处理根据教材安排,本节课的内容包括了读、听、说和写四部分。
但是考虑到学生的实际情况,我选取了其中的读、听和说三部分。
把写的任务安排到下一个课时。

In this lesson, I will adapt situational , communicative , cooperative and task-based approaches .Here are the major teaching tasks and aims :1.To help Ss learn some useful words, phrases and sentencesabout Olympics so that they can use them in their daily life in a proper way and to have a touch of a grammar item-the future passive voice, which is the language focus and difficult point of this period..2.To develop Ss’ reading , listening and note-taking andspeaking skills with activities about Olympics, help Ss find the differences and similarities of the ancient and modern Olympics, which is the important point of this period, and help Ss to understand the structure of an interview in order to conduct an interview in a proper way.This is the ability goal of this lesson.3.To encourage Ss to love sports, to understand the Olympicspirit “Swifter, Higher and Stronger”and use it to guide their life and study. This is also the moral lesson of this unit.To fulfill the teaching tasks, I will carry out competitions through the whole class using a computer and a projector. Speaking and anticipatingI will show pictures of some famous athletes of our country and ask Ss to talk about their favourite sports and athletes, then provide Ss with some pictures about the ancient Olympics and ask them to predict the differences between the ancient and modern Olympics. This step is to improve Ss’ speaking skill and make them clear about what they are going to learn in this period.Step 4. Listening and note-takingSs will listen to the recording of the interview twice and meanwhile they should take notes, which is a very important skill that should be emphasized .In this step, Ss listen for and acquire information. After the first time of listening, Ss are supposed to answer some information questions, such as what is the interview about; after listening twice, Ssare expected to have taken down notes about some essential aspects of the interview. And finally, with the help of the notes, students should be able to retell the interview with their own words. The purpose of this step is to give the students some language input, develop their note-taking skill, and give them a chance to reproduce the language input. Step 5. Reading and practisingSs will open their books and read the dialogue in order to fulfill 3 tasks: the first one is to complete a short passage with words and phrases from the interview; the second one is to find out the differences and similarities of the ancient and modern Olympics. Ss are required to work in groups of four to shout out their answers as quickly as possible in this task and they will get one point for each correct answer. The third one is to find out how Li Yan talks about the rules for the Olympics . Step by step, students discover and use language under the teacher’s guidance. I design one activity for this purpose. In demonstrating the usage of the future passive voice “will be done”, I provide them with a situation where they can make a poster with quite a few rules for London Olympics. This step is to improve Ss’reading skill, broaden their knowledge about the ancient and modern Olympics, andhelp them to understand how to make rules with the help of the future passive voice.Rules for the Olympic Games1.Nobody _____________(allow) to enter the stadium withouta ticket.2.Children ___________ (not allow) to make a noise and upsetthe competitors. Consolidation and applicationThis is a kind of brainstorming. Ss will discuss in pairs to understand the structure of an interview and then hold an interview in class. Ask one student to act as a reporter, the other acts as an athlete who has just won a gold medal inBeijing Olympics . Some useful sentences will be provided to help Ss to hold the interview. I will give Ss 3 minutes to prepare and then invite several pairs to do their interview in front of the class. After the interview, then comes a whisper game. I will give one piece of paper to the first student of each group, on the paper there is a sentence, which is one aspect of the main idea of the interview, ask Ss to whisper the sentence to the student behind him. When the last student of each group hears the sentence, they must go to the front as quickly as possible to write down the sentence on the board. Then we will correct the sentences together to see which group is the quickest and makes the fewest mistakes. After correcting all these sentences, Ss will realize these sentences cover the content of the interview, but the order is not right. So they have to put them into a right order and rearrange these sentences into a logical 5-sentence passage with some conjunctions, such as and, but , because, and so on, which is quite similar to basic writing in the exam. In this game, Ss must speak clearly, listen carefully and write correctly. So the purpose of this step is to give every student a chance to speak English in class, improve their listening and speaking skills with some fun.(They may use the following sentences to hold an interview.)(1) How did you feel when you knew you got the gold medal ?(2) When did you first take part in the Olympics?(3) How many gold medals have you got?(4) Will you continue to join in the 2012 London Olympics?(5)What do you usually do in your free time?…Step7 . It’s really my great honor to stand here and interpret my teaching plan to all of you.I have been ready to begin this representation with five parts: teaching material, students’ analysis, teaching aims, important& difficult points, teaching and learning approach and teaching procedure.1)Teaching materialNow, let me start with the first part- teaching material. It’s an interesting passage with an end to be finished.2)Students’ analysis& teaching aimsAs for students’ analysis, we all know tha t students have great interests in Olympic Games and have laid a basic foundation in words and phrases through former study. Therefore, according to this point, I divide teaching aims into 3 parts.a)Knowledge aimThe first part is knowledge aim. In this part, students are supposed to master the future passive voice.b)Ability aimAs to the second part- ability aim, students are encouraged to develop the ability to use 2 important reading skills-fast reading in getting the main idea and careful reading in finding out details.c)Emotion aimLast but the most important part is the emotion aim. This part consists of 5 steps: Lead in, while-reading, summary, discussion and homework.1.Lead in (5-7mins)In this step, I will play a video about Atlanta and then I will ask some volunteers to do the role- playing in front of the class and I will be the narrator.Purpose of my design:It’s an efficient way to arouse their interest in learning the text as well as leading in the text.2.While-reading (18-20mins)In this step, I will lead students to use 2 important reading skills: fast reading and careful reading.① Fast reading (3-5mins)First,I’ll give them 2-3 minutes to find out the main idea of each paragraph and the whole text, which will help them think independently. Second,students are asked to do 3 single choice questions to check their understanding of the whole passage.Third, I will check whether their answers are right.By doing this, they can trained the skill of getting the main points within a small amount of time .② Careful reading (13-15mins)Task 1: Before careful reading, I’ll explain new words and difficult sentences listed on the blackboard.Purpose of my design: It’s an efficient way for students to understand the text easily.Task 2:I’ll also list T/F questions on the blackboard and one question to think about while reading “What do you think the end will be?”Students are supposed to read through the text and find out the answers within 5-6 minutes.After reading the passage carefully, I will guide the students to work in groups of 4 and discuss their answers and opinions.And I will check their answers and play the rest of the video to the students to tell them the end.Task 3: Each student is given a chart about the text with blanks on it. Iwill guide the students to listen to the tape and fill in the blanks. After listening, students can check their answers by looking at the text. Purpose of my design:In this way, they are trained the skill of finding out the information by reading the text in details.3.Summary (5mins)I’ll invite several students to look at their notes and make a brief summary about the text and then I’ll make a supplement.Purpose of my design: Students can consolidate what they have learned.4.Discussion (10-15mins)I’ll ask students to discuss 4 questions listed on the blackboard. Each group is given 7-8 minutes to discuss and select one student to present their ideas. The rest of the students will be the listeners. If anyone has a different opinion, he/ she can raise his/ her hand and speak it out. Purpose of my design: By doing this task, they will benefit a lot in their spoken English. Most students can take their parts in the activities, especially for those who have trouble in English study.5.HomeworkIn the last 1-2 minutes, I’ll assign the homework. Students are required to finish the exercises after the text.Purpose of my design:Homework is important and necessary for students to master the knowledge they’ve learned after class. 尊敬的各位评委、老师:大家好!我今天说课的内容是高中英语必修一的Unit2 English around the world 的Reading 部分。
我将分五个阶段完成说课:一、说教材;二、说教法;三、说学法;四、说学情;五、说教学过程。
下面让我们一起进入第一部分——说教材。
一、说教材1、单元背景分析本单元讨论的话题是“世界英语”介绍了英语在当今世界范围内人们生活中扮演的不同角色及其重要意义。
尤其介绍了英美语言的差异,让学生更进一步了解学好英语的必要性和其重要意义。
促使学生了解英美语言在词汇、拼写、语音等方面的区别。
使学生在认识到学好英语的重要性的同时,更加热爱自己的祖国,从而培养他们的祖国意识。
2、教材内容分析本课是高中一年级英语上册,unit 2 English around the world 中的Reading.本单元的中心话题是“世界英语”,具体涉及“英语在当今世界范围内人们生活中扮演的不同角色及其重要意义,以及英美语言的差异”。
本课的语言知识及语言技能主要是围绕“世界英语”这一中心话题进行设计的。
本课时主要分为三部分:1)Pre-reading. (读前准备)“读前准备”部分是Reading的前奏,此部分设计了两个问题,诱发学思考。
通过对问题的讨论和比较,让学生明白学好英语的重要性。
2)Reading (阅读)“阅读”部分文体为说明文,全文共分三个段落。
全文阐述了一个鲜明的观点:英语的确是当今世界范围内使用最广泛的一门语言之一,也是联合国的工作语言之一,它的重要作用是其他语言不可替代的。
3)Post-reading(读后)“读后”部分共设计了两类题型:第一部分是和个问题,其中前面两个是细节理解题;第三题是一个开放性题目,鼓励学生把英语学习与现实生活相结合。
第二部分是填空形式,帮助学生梳理文章,掌握文章主要细节,概括中心思想,实为文章的一个纲要。
三部分均以提高学生阅读能力为主,所以将此三部分有科学地整合成一节阅读课。
3、教学重点1)、让学生熟悉与本话题相关的一些重点单词、短语。
2)、发展学生的阅读能力,尤其是归纳总结,猜词和查读(scanning)的能力。
3)、使学生通过交际性任务和合作的机会,培养他们用谚语思维和交际的能力。
4、教学难点:Expressing one's idea on which kind of English one should learn; guess the name of speaker's country by listening; how to tell the differences between a command and a request; howto change the pronoun when turning the direct speech into indirect speech.5、教学目标根据课文特点及新课标对高一年级学生英语学习能力的要求,本课的教学目标如下:1知识目标:了解英语在世界上的发展状况,认识各种各样带有民族、地域特色的英语;对英国英语和美国英语的差异有所了解,尤其是一些常用词汇,比如flat和apartment, lift 和elevator, rubber和eraser等; 掌握本课中出现的词汇、短语的用法;学会语言交际困难的表达法,如pardon,I beg your pardon?; 掌握祈使句及其间接引语的表达法。
能力目标:2.训练学生的阅读技巧(略读、寻读等),形成用英语获取信息、处理分析信息的能力。
并鼓励学生开口说英语。
3情感态度目标:①了解英国英语和美国英语的区别,通过学习激发学生对英语学习的浓厚兴趣;②使学生在领会语言丰富多彩性的同时更加热爱自己的祖国,从而培养他们的祖国意识。
培养他们的跨国文化意识和世界意识。
③通过对课文学习的小组讨论等形式,帮助学生养成团结、协作的品质。
二、说教法教学环环相扣,设计紧凑。
先利用学生感兴趣的话题引起兴趣,然后带着问题有目的地阅读文章。
通过回答问题掌握细节,理清线索,再从整体上把握它的结构、特色,学习用英语归纳以及复述,最后以拓展课文知识小组活动完成这节课的整体教学。
使他们掌握阅读技巧的同时也增加了见识。
在小组讨论过程中,学会用已学词、句表达出自己的观点。
学生通过体验、实践、讨论、合作和探究等方式,发展听、说、读、写的综合语言技能。
为了能很好地突出重点,突破难点,圆满完成教学任务,取得良好的教学效果,我抓住重点,联系实际,以学生为主体,教师为主导,让学生集中练习。
为了激发学生的兴趣愉快地学,我采用限时阅读、快速阅读、判断正误等教学方法,让学生充分体现课堂教学“主体者”的身份。
三、说学法自主合作探究是适应时代需要和行之有效的学习方式,应该激励学生的自主学习意识,加强互助学习与练习,使学生收获成功的乐趣,增强学习英语的自信心。
课前预习,可以充分发挥学生的自学能力,标记不懂的知识点,便于课堂集中精神听课。
精读材料,深入理解教材,有利于深入理解课文的重点和难点,提高学习效率。
课后练习,有助于学生回忆课堂知识点,巩固所学要点,查漏补缺。
四、说学情通过对上一课时Warming up的学习,学生对于“世界英语”有了自己的看法,但是还缺乏对当代语言特别是英语发展趋势的了解。
另外,学生对于各国英语这一话题很感兴趣,因此在处理这一堂课时,我会充分调动学生的积极性,在指导学生快速阅读的同时引导学生相互合作,自己发现本单元重点语言结构,让学生自己发现并感悟相关的语言规律,培养他们的语感。
三、说教学程序(一) 导入:首先在学生对英语是世界上最广泛使用的语言和越来越多的人在学习英语现有情况了解的基础上,引出问题:“Do you know how many countries use English as their mother tongue?Do you know something about English around the world?”在学生思索时,引出课题English around the world。
接着再询问学生:What language has the largest number of speakers in the world?What language is the most widely spoken and used in the world?How many countries do you know use English as their mother tongue?此环节设计意图是使学生对本节课的话题有进一步了解,而且很有兴趣了解“世界英语”的具体情况。
从另一个角度,先给学生一个语言上的输入input。
激发学生的兴趣和欲望.(二) Pre-reading (读前准备):在学生回答了以上问题后,我让学生看这一部分课本上所设的两个问题:1) How many languages do you speak? Which is your native language?2) If you speak more than one language, in what situation do you use the languages?让学生仔细思考后回答。
教师不必忙着下结论,诱导他们从书中去思考寻找答案,激发他们探究的兴趣。
(三) Reading:使学生了解英语在当今世界范围内人们生活中扮演的不同角色及其重要意义。
任务1:Listen to the tape ,听录音,然后让学生尽力得出大意并且回答问题1. How many countries are there where the majority of people speak English?2. How is English used in Hong Kong?3. What language should we use on the Internet so that we can communicate with people around the world?任务2:让学生带着问题阅读课文。
有目的性阅读是阅读训练一种技巧,并且提醒学生不用太多花大多注意力在地名和新单词上面,集中精力探究文章内容。
概括每段段落大意。
