It means that when we are ready for something, we can make the most of the chances that come our way.You know, in school, we have a lot of opportunities to learn new things and develop our skills. But if we are not prepared, we might miss out on those chances. For example, if we don't study for a test, we might not do well when the opportunity to show our knowledge comes up. But if we study hard and prepare ourselves, we can seize the opportunity and show what we can do.The same goes for other areas of our life. If we want to be good at sports, we have to practice and train hard. Then, when the opportunity to join a team or compete comes along, we will be ready to show our skills. If we want to be good at music, we have to practice playing an instrument or singing. Then, whenthe opportunity to perform in front of an audience comes up, we will be ready to shine. So, guys, let's remember that opportunities are not just for anyone. They are for those who are prepared. Let's work hard, study hard, practice hard, and be ready for the chances that come our way. In the vast tapestry of life, opportunities paint vibrant threads, weaving intricate patterns that shape our destinies. While fate may play a role in the distribution of these threads, it is ultimately our preparation that determines how we seize their potential. The ancient Roman philosopher Seneca wisely observed, "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." This timeless maxim encapsulates the profound truth that opportunities favor those who are ready to embrace them. Preparation does not merely entail waiting passively for opportunities to serendipitously arise; it involvesactively cultivating the skills, knowledge, and experiences that make us receptive to the possibilities that life presents.Just as a skilled gardener carefully prepares the soilbefore planting seeds, we must invest in ourselves to cultivate an environment conducive to growth and success. This may require pursuing education, developing new talents, or stepping outside of our comfort zones to acquire novel perspectives. By continuously enhancing our abilities and expanding our horizons, we increase the likelihood that we will recognize and seize opportunities when they arise. Moreover, preparation instills in us resilience and adaptability—essential traits for navigating theinevitable challenges that accompany any worthwhile endeavor. When we are unprepared, setbacks can easily discourage us and lead us to abandon our dreams. However, when we have diligently prepared, we are better equipped to overcome obstacles and stay the course. This mindset of persistence, coupled with a willingness to embrace change, allows us to adapt to the ever-evolving landscape of opportunities. In the realm of business, it is often said that theearly bird catches the worm. This proverb highlights the importance of being proactive in our pursuit ofopportunities. By actively seeking out information, networking with influential individuals, and exploring potential partnerships, we increase our chances of encountering opportunities that align with our goals and aspirations. However, it is not enough to simply identify opportunities; we must also be bold enough to seize them. Preparation empowers us with the confidence to step into the unknown and embrace new experiences. It gives us the courage to take risks, knowing that we have the skills and knowledge to navigate any potential pitfalls. It is important to note that preparation does not guarantee success. There are countless factors beyond our control that can affect the outcome of our endeavors. However, by investing in ourselves and cultivating a mindset of readiness, we increase our odds of capitalizing on opportunities and achieving our full potential. In the words of the American author Napoleon Hill, "Don't wait for opportunity. Create it." Whileopportunities may not always come knocking at our door, we can proactively lay the groundwork for their arrival. By developing our talents, embracing new experiences, and nurturing a spirit of resilience and adaptability, we transform ourselves into magnets for success.

1Opportunities Are For The PreparedHello everyone! My name is Emily and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to talk to you about something really important - being prepared for opportunities in life. I've learned that opportunities don't just fall into your lap. You have to work hard and get ready, so when an opportunity comes along, you can grab it!A few months ago, my school held a contest for students to write and perform their own short play. The winner would get to have their play professionally filmed and shown at the school talent show. I really, really wanted to enter because I love writing stories and acting them out. Writing and performing my own play sounded like a dream come true! But I knew I couldn't just scribble something down at the last minute and expect to win. I needed to prepare properly if I was going to have a shot at that awesome prize. So I got to work researching what makes a good play - having an interesting plot, creating believable characters, incorporating humor and drama, and so on. I read a bunch of short play scripts to see how it's done. I made notes about ideas that could make for a fun and entertaining play.Over the next few weeks, I spent a lot of time brainstorming storylines, writing drafts, and revising my script until I had a play I felt really proud of. Then I started rehearsing my lines and working on my acting skills in front of a mirror. I put so much effort into preparing because I knew this was my big opportunity to shine. When the day of the contest came, I performed my10-minute play with all the energy and enthusiasm I could muster. And you know what? I won first place! The judges were blown away by how polished and professional my performance was, especially for a 4th grader. My hard work and preparation had paid off big time.Watching the filming of my play a few weeks later was one of the most exciting days of my life. I felt like a famous playwright and actress! And when it premiered at the talent show, the audience loved it. People kept congratulating me and saying how impressed they were. I don't think that amazing opportunitywould have happened if I hadn't spent all that time getting prepared. That experience really drove home for me that opportunities are for the prepared. Think about it - if you want to get picked for the soccer team, you can't just show up at tryouts without having practiced your dribbling, passing and shooting skills beforehand. If you dream of getting into a great college someday, you can't just wing it on the exam without studying hard over many years. Opportunities don't care about hoping and wishing. They only go to the people who put in the work to get themselves ready. That's part of the reason why being prepared is so important - the preparation itself makes you grow as a person. Through studying, practicing, developing skills, managing your time, dealing with setbacks, and persevering, you become stronger, smarter and more resourceful. So even if you don't get that specific opportunity you wanted, you've made yourself better prepared for whatever future chances come your way.I saw this firsthand when my school play was such a big hit. A few weeks later, a drama teacher from a local theater group reached out and invited me to audition for one of their youth productions. If I hadn't already put in the hard work preparingfor the school play, I would have been totally unprepared for that new, exciting opportunity that came knocking. But because I was ready, I nailed the audition and landed a great role! That never would have happened if I wasn't prepared. So my advice to all of you is this: Decide what opportunities you really want to go after, and then start getting prepared! Work hard, practice like crazy, learn all the skills and knowledge you'll need to succeed. Don't just wait around hoping. When you spot your chance, you'll be ready to seize it with everything you've got. That's the best way to turn your dreams into reality.I know there's something you're hoping for - a role on the robotics team, the lead in the school musical, starting篇2Opportunity knocks, but will you be ready? That's a question I've been thinking about a lot lately as I prepare for my middle school exams and the transition to high school next year. My parents are always telling me "Luck is when preparation meets opportunity." I used to think they were just nagging me to study harder, but now I get what they mean. You can't just wait around for good things to happen. You have to work hard, practice your skills, and get ready so when anopportunity comes along, you're prepared to jump on it. Like if you want to make the basketball team, you can't just show up at tryouts having never touched a ball before. You need to have been practicing dribbling, passing and shooting for months or years to be truly ready. That's true for anything in life - getting into a good university, landing your dream job, or even just acing a big test at school. It all takes serious preparation and hard work over a long period of time. You can't cram the night before and expect to be ready. Opportunities don't care how you feel on any particular day - they demand that you've put in the effort consistently over months and years.I'll give you a personal example from my own life. Last year, my English teacher encouraged all of us to enter an essay writing competition. Some of my classmates groaned, but I was excited. I loved writing and had been practicing my English skills for years, devouring books and working hard on every assignment. When the day of the competition came, I was ready. I poured my heart into that essay, tapping into everything I had learned. And you know what? I ended up winning! The judges said my essay showed outstanding language skills and creativity. Was it just dumb luck that I won? No way! Sure, there was an element of chance that my essay impressed those particular judges on that particular day. But the reason I could seize that opportunity was because of all the preparation over many years - reading, writing, revising, studying vocabulary and grammar. If I had just winged it without putting in that work, I guarantee my essay would have fallen flat.I think preparation is like saving up money in the bank. Every time you practice a skill, study for a test, or work hard on a project, it's like making a deposit into your personal "opportunity account." Then when a great opportunity arises, you can make a withdrawal from all that preparation to seize it. But if you've never made any deposits by preparing and working hard, then your account will be empty when opportunity knocks. My parents love using analogies to drive points home, so here's one they shared with me recently: Opportunities are like trains. There's a never-ending stream of them coming through the station, but they don't wait around. If you're prepared and ready to hop onboard when one comes along, it can take you amazing places. But if you're not paying attention or still tying your shoes while it's arriving, that train will leave the station without you. And who knows when the next one for yourdestination will come along? It could be days, months or even years until another opportunity arrives for that goal or dream you have. By then, you could have moved on or lost motivation. Crazy thought, right? So in my opinion, the only way to make sure you're ready for whatever opportunitiescome your way is to adopt a lifetime philosophy of constant preparation. Always be reading, practicing, studying, learning, working on projects, or acquiring new skills. That way, no matter what ambitions you have - whether it's making a sports team, getting into your dream school, landing a great job, or anything else - you'll have made the deposits into your opportunity account. When the train arrives, you'll be able to hop aboard.Does this mean you'll never fail or suffer setbacks? Of course not. Even if you're perfectly prepared, you'll still face disappointments and have to overcome obstacles. I'm only in middle school, but I've already had my share of those. Like when I worked really hard on my mathematics skills one year to try to make it into the advanced math program, but still fell a few points short on the entrance exam. I was devastated at the time. But you know what? I didn't let that stop me. In fact, it motivated me to work even harder on my math skills for thefollowing year. My parents reminded me that preparing for one opportunity is never wasted effort, because it helps you get ready for the next one. Sure enough, thanks to all that preparation, I earned my way into the advanced program the following year. If I hadn't put in that work and persevered through the disappointment, I wouldn't have had the skills to seize that opportunity when it came around again.篇3Opportunity Knocks, but Are You Ready?Hi there! My name is Emma and I'm a 5th grader at Oakwood Elementary School. Today I want to talk to you about something really important - being prepared for opportunities in life. You know that saying "Opportunity knocks"? Well, it's true! Opportunities are all around us, just waiting to be seized. Maybe it's a chance to join the school play or try out for the basketball team. Perhaps it's an opportunity to go on a cool field trip or enter an art contest. Opportunities are everywhere! But here's the thing - you have to be ready when opportunity comes knocking at your door. If you just sit around watching TV and playing video games all day, you'll miss out. Thekids who are prepared and have worked hard are the ones who get to take advantage of great opportunities.Let me give you an example from my own life. Last year, our school announced a big science fair competition. The winners would get to go on an all-expenses-paid trip to Science World in the city! Well, I really wanted to enter and try to win that awesome prize. But I knew I couldn't just slap together a project at the last minute. Nope, I had to prepare. So I started doing lots of research and experiments months in advance. I read books from the library, watched educational videos, and worked really hard on developing a solid project idea. Meanwhile, some of my friends were joking that the science fair was "lame" and "boring". Little did they know, I was getting prepared! When the science fair finally came around, my project on exploring fungi in the local forest was a huge hit. All that preparation paid off because I ended up winning the entire competition! My friends couldn't believe it when I got to go on that amazing trip to Science World. While they were kicking themselves for missing out, I was having a blast thanks to being prepared and ready for the opportunity. That's just one small example, but it really shows how important it is to have a prepared mindset. If you just goof around and don't take life seriously, the best opportunities will slip right through your fingers. But if you work hard, stay focused, and get prepared, you'll be ready to grab onto those opportunities with both hands!Maybe you want to get scouted for a elite sports team someday. Maybe you dream of getting into a great university. Maybe you just want to land your dream job when you're an adult. Whatever your goals are, I'm here to tell you that preparation is the key to making those opportunities become a reality.I'll be honest, it does take effort to adopt this prepared mindset. You have to be disciplined, hard-working, and able to delay gratification sometimes. It's not always easy, especially when you see other kids goof off while you're studying or practicing. But keeping your eye on the big picture of future opportunities is so worthwhile.Just look at my buddy Jacob. He's a really talented artist, but he never took it seriously or prepared properly for art competitions and showcases when we were younger. So those incredible opportunities just passed him by while others whowere prepared got to participate and gain recognition. Jacob kind of regrets not being prepared now. He sees how hard work pays off.On the other hand, I know twins Mark and Mike who...篇4Opportunity Knocks for the PreparedHello friends! Today I want to tell you about a really important lesson I've learned - that opportunity only comes to those who are prepared. It's something my mom and dad are always telling me, and at first I didn't really get it. But then some things happened that made me understand just篇5Wow, Grade 9 already! I can't believe how fast time has flown by. It feels like just yesterday I was a little kid starting kindergarten. Now here I am, about to begin my final year of middle school before heading off to high school. The teachers have been telling us for years that Grade 9 is really important and that we need to work hard because the opportunities we get will depend on how prepared we are. I think I sort of understandwhat they mean, but it's still a pretty abstract concept for a kid my age.I guess what they're getting at is that if we slack off and don't put in the effort, we'll miss out on cool chances later on. Like, if we bomb all our Grade 9 exams, we probably won't get into the best high schools. And then that means we might not be able to get into our dream college or university down the road. It's like this chain reaction - if you're not ready for one opportunity, you get locked out of the next one, and the next one, and so on. Wild to think about! On the flip side, if we work really hard in Grade 9 and get amazing grades, we'll apparently have way more opportunities open up to us. The teachers say the sky's the limit if we prepare properly. We could get into elite schools, study what we're passionate about, land awesome internships, and eventually score our dream job. Just by being ready and taking advantage of each chance that comes our way. Again, it's a bitmind-boggling for a 14-year-old to fully grasp. But I'm trying!I see examples of this "opportunity is for the prepared" idea everywhere, now that I'm conscious of it. Like, my friend Sarah's older brother slacked off in high school. Now he's stuck working at a lame job he hates because he didn't prepare properly andmissed out on his opportunities. Meanwhile, my neighbor's daughter was super dedicated, went to a great university, and now has this amazing career she loves. Just from being ready to seize her chances when they arose.Or take my buddy Michael. He's really talented at basketball but never practiced or trained properly. So when the coaches for the city team came to evaluate us, he choked and didn't make the cut. Whereas Kyle, who's slightly less naturally gifted but worked his butt off, impressed the coaches and got selected. Kyle was prepared, Michael wasn't - and the opportunities went to the prepared kid. It's almost not fair how much preparation matters. But I guess that's just how life works? So as I approach the big leap to high school, I'm trying my best to take the opportunity/preparation thing seriously. I've started doing lots of extra studying, getting tutoring help when I need it, and just generally putting in way more academic effort. My parents are so proud and keep telling me I'm on the right track. I'm exercising and practicing sports more too in hopes of maybe making a team someday. And I've started learning coding just for fun since apparently computing skills are a gateway to tons of cool opportunities nowadays. Basically, I'm doingeverything I can to make sure I'm prepared for whatever opportunities might come my way.I have to admit, there's a part of me that wishes I could just goof off and play video games all day like a couple of my lazy friends. But then I think about how they're already falling behind and limiting their futures by not preparing properly. And I definitely don't want to end up like that! Call me a keener or a try-hard, but I want to keep as many doors open as possible. My parents hammer home the importance of seizing opportunities, so I'm motivated to prep as hard as I can.篇6Opportunity Knocks for the PreparedThe other day, my teacher Ms. Roberts told us a really interesting saying: "Opportunity is for those who are prepared." At first I didn't really understand what she meant. Isn't opportunity just chance or luck? Why do you need to prepare for it?But then Ms. Roberts explained it in a way that made total sense. She said opportunities come along all the time, like getting a chance to join the school play or being picked for the math competition team. However, if you haven't practiced yourlines or your times tables, you won't be able to take full advantage of those opportunities when they arise.I realized Ms. Roberts was absolutely right. In my life, I've already had lots of little opportunities and some of them I was ready for, while others kind of passed me by. Like when my cousin's baby was born last year and my aunt asked if I wanted to hold her. I was so excited because I love babies! But then when I actually had the tiny bundle in my arms, I was a nervous wreck. What if I dropped her? What if she started crying? I wasn't really prepared for that opportunity so I just kind of froze up.On the other hand, I was voted as our class representative for Student Council this year. Was I just naturally more popular than the other kids who ran? I don't think so. The real reason I got that opportunity is because I worked hard all year on my public speaking skills. I volunteered to read the announcements every morning and I did presentations in class without getting flustered. When it came time for the election speeches, I was ready and relaxed. While some kids were shaking like leaves, I spoke clearly and made eye contact. Because I prepared, I made the most of that opportunity.Ms. Roberts says being prepared is just as important for big life opportunities too, like going to college or getting yourdream job. You can't just roll out of bed one morning and make those things happen through blind luck. You need to work really hard, study, volunteer, take advanced classes, and get experience first. That way, when your big opportunity finally arrives, you'll be ready to seize it with both hands!。

Opportunities favor the prepared mind
A: In my opinion, the opportunity is only for the prepared man. Do you think so?
B: Of course. One of my classmates likes to promote his achievement. But when he meets some troubles, he often complains of others and never reviews himself. Once having come back after the interview, he complained of the interviewer for me. He said the interviewer asked him some problems and created difficulties for him deliberately. His words annoyed me, so I asked him whether he had prepared for the interview and considered the questions which the interviews would ask or not. Having heard my questions, he felt ashamed without response.

C: I think so. I have a brother and I think he is the slave of the life, because he never prepares for his life well. He is week in his school work. Now he discontinues his studies and stays at home, even lives by his parents’wages. Several months ago, he found a job and I thought he would change himself and work hard, but his action made me more look down upon him. The reason was that he resigned his job because of the distance between his home and the company after having been transfered to another controlled company.

A: I am grateful for your support. Really, for those who aren’t prepared, even if they have a lot of chances, they won’t catch them, let alone the chances in such the fierce competition. Nowadays, the more population is in China, the fewer chances for us to catch. In a word, only those who have made enough preparations, they can catch the chances in the competition.

B: After saying others, I can say my attitude to my major. I love my major, because the knowledge I learn can abundant my life。

Therefore, I always attend the classes seriously. After class, I will review the knowledge the teacher teaches that day and try my best to clear every point of the knowledge. I believe I can get a satisfactory job after graduation.

C: Compared with you, I feel I fail to focus enough time and energy on my school work. But I still feel I grew a lot in the past year and a half, for example, I pay attention to my social communication ability very much and some time I put the knowledge I have learned in actual life deliberately. I find the interviewer not only evaluates a person by his education but also by his ability. So what I prepare for now will impress the interviewer in the future.

A: What you said is true. From your experience, I think we have to live in social reality no matter how it is. Each of us must face the social reality instead of escaping and complaining, be a prepared person, improve all aspects of our ability and perfect ourselves in time. Not only because it is significant for us to get a job after graduation, but also to our lives. All in all, only being a prepared person we can control our life completely.
