对中国教师来说,最紧迫的任务是了解“别国的教育”,而不是简单地排外。

如果有人在当今这样的时代竟然因害怕“全盘西化”而排斥“别国的教育”,那是可耻的。

2.杜威:《学校与社会.明日之学校》。

推荐理由:《学校与社会.明日之学校》其实并不是一本书,而是杜威几本书的合并。

这几本书并不是杜威最有理论地位的书(一般认为杜威最有理论含量的书是《民主主义与教育》),但这几本书讨论的都是当时美国社会变化与教育变革的大是大非问题。

从社会转型的状态来看,中国当今的社会状态与美国当时的状态类似,中国当今的教育状态与美国当时的教育状态也比较类似,这使杜威的系列书(人民教育出版社合编为一本《学校与社会.明日之学校》)特别适合现时代的教师阅读。

3.李泽厚著:《论语今读》(相关的图书包括《道德经》,二者虽然在很多观点上有冲突和张力,但可以正因其相反,乃可以相成)。

推荐理由:如果说第一紧的任务是为了理解“别国的教育”,第二紧要的任务是了解“自己的文化”,包括尤其是中国古典文化。

不见得古典的都是好的,但是经典图书经历了时间的淘洗和选择,纵使不少后人对它提出批评,但它既然够格成为经典,自有它构成经典的力量。

既理解“别国的教育”,又立足于“自己的文化”,这是比较开明的“文艺复兴”道路。

4.[日]黑柳彻子著:《窗边的小豆豆》。

推荐理由:对学者来说,可以直接经由学术著作和调查报告来研究“别国的教育”和“自己的文化”,但是,对大众而言,需要借助于“文艺”的道路。

在教育领域,较少有“教育文艺”,但也不是没有,比如卢梭的《爱弥尔》、黑柳彻子的《窗边的小豆豆》。

《爱弥尔》乃世界公认名著,但节奏太慢,教训口气太重,所以,我们推荐《窗边的小豆豆》。

若论“教育文艺”,自然包括教育小说和教育电影。

后者如《春风化雨》(电影)、《音乐之声》(电影)、《大国崛起》(电视片),等等。

除“教育小说”之外,尚有一部比较奇特的“动物小说”值得阅读,那就是姜戎的《狼图腾》。

它可能让某些读者热血沸腾,感受到生命本原的激情与力量。

而这种品质,恰恰是某些教师所严重匮乏的。

5.王小波:《沉默的大多数》(相关图书包括“周国平散文”、“余秋雨散文”等相关“文章”)。

推荐理由:依然看重的是“教育文艺”与“教育启蒙”的意义。

6.张民生、于漪:《教师人文读本》(上下修订本)推荐理由:如果说中国教师第一紧要的任务是理解和领会“别国的教育”,第二紧要的任务是立足于“自己的文化”,第三紧要的任务是进入“教育文艺”,那么,第四紧要的任务便是承担“教育启蒙”(包括“自我启蒙”与“启蒙他者”)。
