I had to admit，though，Zoe was more excited than I was.She'd been trying on her costume(化妆服)every day for a week.“I'm a fairy，”she said，twirling(旋转)around.“I have plans with my friends，”I said.Our plans consisted of racing around the neighborhood to collect as much candy as we could，not bothering too much with costumes．

“Please，Chad，”Zoe begged.“Fine.”There would be my chance for fun and candy，I thought.Zoe twirled on her ter，Zoe walked to the first house while I hung back.“I don't want anyone to know that I'm taking you to go trick-or-treating，”I'd said to her.I'd told my friends that I couldn't hang out with them tonight，but I didn't tell them why，being afraid of being laughed at．

“Take a candy bag，”said Mom sitting in the car at the end of the block.When I turned back，Zoe was already 15 steps ahead.“Zoe，wait！”Zoe stopped and turned around.“Hurry，hurry，”she said.I ran to catch up.Looking after her would be more work than I'd expected.
