1My Seventh Grade YearHi there! My name is Alex and I'm a 7th grader. This year has been really fun and exciting so far. I've learned so many new things in my classes and have made some great new friends too. Let me tell you all about my experiences this year!In English class, we've been reading some awesome books and stories. One of my favorites was "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. It's about this boy named Jonas who lives in a really strange community where everyone has to follow strict rules all the time. When he turns 12, he gets picked to be the Receiver of Memory, which is this important role where he has to keep all the real memories of life before their community existed. It's a super cool science fiction book.We also read the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare. I'll be honest, I found Shakespeare pretty confusing and hard to understand at first. But my teacher did a great job explaining the storylines and helping us decode all thefancy old English phrases Shakespeare used. Once I got the hang of it, I thought the play was hilarious, especially the scenes with the mischievous fairy Puck!In my history class, we've been learning all about the ancient civilizations like Greece, Rome, Egypt, and China. I found the Greek mythology stories so fascinating - they had all these crazy gods and goddesses that were always playing tricks on each other and getting into huge fights. My favorite myth is the story of Odysseus and how he had to go on this long, epic journey home from the Trojan War and deal with all sorts of monsters and challenges along the way. The Romans were pretty interesting too with their huge empire, awesome architecture like the Colosseum, and skilled army.Science class has been a blast this year. We've covered lots of different units like biology, chemistry, physics, you name it. I really enjoyed the biology unit where we learned all about cells, DNA, and genetics through fun hands-on activities. We even got to extract some DNA from strawberries, which was so cool! In physics, I found the lessons on forces, motion, and simple machines really useful for helping explain how lots of things work in the real world.Math is definitely one of the harder subjects for me, but I'm working hard on improving. This year we've gone more in-depth into algebra, with lots of practice solving equations with variables. I'm slowly getting better at it, but I still get tripped up sometimes, especially when we get into more complex polynomials and expressions. Geometry is another area we're studying, which makes more sense to me with the visual shapes and formulas for things like area and volume. Overall, I just have to stay focused and keep practicing! In my Spanish class, we've made good progress building up our vocabulary and grammar skills. I can introduce myself, describe my family, talk about my likes/dislikes, explain my daily routines, and have basic conversations. Speaking and listening comprehension is still pretty tough for me though. Those native speakers go so fast! I'm going to keep working on it though, since being bilingual will help me a lot in the future. For extracurriculars, I'm part of the school band where I play the trumpet. It's been awesome getting to perform at concerts, pep rallies, and community events. Playing music has taught me discipline, teamwork, and how to manage my time with all the rehearsals and performances. I've also joined the environmental club at school, where we lead activities to promote sustainabilitylike recycling drives, tree planting, and cutting down on plastic use. Protecting the planet is really important to me.Outside of school, I love playing sports like basketball, soccer, and running track & field. Staying active helps me stay focused in the classroom. I'm a pretty big gamer too - some of my favorite games right now are Minecraft, Fortnite, and Overwatch. I have to be careful not to get too obsessed with video games though and make sure I balance it out with other hobbies and getting enough exercise. My friends are a hugely important part of my life too. We love hanging out together, going to the movies, grabbing food at the mall, or just chilling in each other's basements playing games. Having a good group of friends to share laughs with and lean on when I'm stressed has made this year so much better.Well, those are the highlights from my 7th grade year so far! It's been a rollercoaster with all the new experiences, added responsibilities, and milestones I've hit, both good and bad. I've grown so much as a student and a person. While there are definitely challenges, I'm really excited to finish out the year strong and get ready for 8th grade. Wish me luck! Thanks for reading, catch you later!篇2My Life as a 7th GraderHi there! My name is Emily and I'm a 7th grade student. This year has been quite an adventure so far with lots of new things to learn and experience. Let me tell you all about the highlights from my English class this year.In Unit 1, we learned about different jobs that people do. It was really interesting to explore all the career possibilities out there. My favorite was learning about doctors and nurses who help sick people get better. I have so much respect for them after my mom had to stay in the hospital last year when she broke her leg. The nurses took such good care of her. For our project, I had to interview someone about their job. I chose to talk to my uncle who is a police officer. He told me all about keeping our community safe and some of the exciting but dangerous situations he faces. I think I might want to be a police officer too when I grow up!Unit 2 was about holidays and celebrations around the world.I loved learning about the different traditions people have. My best friend Anna is from Mexico, so she taught us about how her family celebrates Cinco de Mayo. They make delicious Mexicanfood, dance, and have a mariachi band play music. For my part of the project, I had to research a holiday from another country. I chose to learn about the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japan. It looks like such a beautiful celebration in the spring when the cherry trees are in full bloom. I'd love to go see it one day. Exploring different cultures is so much fun.In Unit 3, we studied urban and rural communities. I live in a small town, so I'm very familiar with rural life. We have lots of farms with cows, pigs, and crops all around us. But I was really interested to learn what it's like living in a big city too. My cousin lives in New York City and she says it's amazing - there are tall skyscrapers, museums, theaters, and people from all over the world. The streets are always crowded and busy. For our project, I had to compare and contrast rural and urban living. I decided that while cities are exciting, I prefer the peace and quiet of the countryside.Unit 4 covered the topic of technology which I found fascinating. These days, technology is everywhere - we use computers, tablets, and smartphones for everything from education to entertainment. I can't imagine life without the internet! During this unit, we learned about famous inventors like Thomas Edison who brought us incredible innovations like thelightbulb and phonograph. For our project, I had to research a recent technological advancement and present about it. I chose 3D printing which allows you to create 3-dimensional objects from a digital design. The possibilities seem endless - from printing toys and tools to even body parts for medical procedures! Technology is advancing so quickly, I can't wait to see what new inventions come next.My favorite unit so far was Unit 5 all about space exploration.I have always dreamed of becoming an astronaut and traveling to outer space. It was so cool learning about the planets, stars, and galaxies in our solar system. We even got to build model rockets and launch them on the school field! For my project, I had to write a research paper about a famous astronaut. I chose to learn about Neil Armstrong, the first person to ever walk on the moon. What an amazing accomplishment! His courage and perseverance really inspired me. I hope that one day, I too can make history as an astronaut explorer. The most recent unit we covered was Unit 6 on environmental protection. This topic is so crucial because we all need to work together to take care of our planet. We learned about major issues like pollution, deforestation, and climate change. But we also studied ways we can help, like reducingwaste, conserving energy and water, and recycling. For our class project, we did a campaign to encourage recycling at our school. We made posters, gave presentations, and set up recycling bins around campus. It felt amazing to take action on such an important cause. I'm going to keep doing my part to protect the environment going forward.Well, those were the highlights of my 7th grade English class so far this year. We've covered so many fascinating topics that have really expanded my knowledge. My reading, writing, and critical thinking skills have improved so much too. I'm proud of the hard work I've put in and the projects I've completed. I know this year's lessons will stick with me for life. Here's to continued learning and growth in the years ahead!篇3My Life as a 7th GraderHey there! My name is Sam, and I'm a 7th grader at Oakwood Middle School. ButI'm loving every minute of it.Let me start by telling you about my family. I live with my mom,篇4Unit 1: My Favorite SportsI love playing sports! They are so much fun and keep me healthy and active. My favorite sport is basketball. I enjoy shooting hoops and running up and down the court with my friends. We often play pick-up games at the park near my house.Another sport I really like is soccer. It's exciting to dribble the ball and try to score goals. I'm not the best player, but I have a great time running around and kicking the ball with my teammates.Swimming is also a sport I enjoy, especially in the summer. It's so refreshing to jump into a cool pool on a hot day. I like doing different strokes and racing my friends across the pool.No matter what sport I'm playing, I always have篇5My 7th Grade Year So FarHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm a 7th grader this year. I just turned 13 a couple months ago which felt like a big milestone. 7th grade has been really fun but also challenging at times. Let me tell you about my experiences so far this year!Unit 1 was all about personal introductions and talking about ourselves. We had to write autobiography paragraphs and introduce ourselves to the class. I felt a little shy at first, but I've been working on coming out of my shell. I wrote about how I love playing soccer, reading fantasy novels, and hanging out with my cousins. My best friends are Emma and Jayden - we've known each other since kindergarten. In Unit 2, we learned how to describe our families. I have a pretty big family with two younger brothers, Jake and Ryan. They can be annoying sometimes but I love them. We also have a goofy golden retriever named Buddy. My mom works as a nurse and my dad is a high school math teacher. For the unit project, I made a family tree going back to my great-grandparents. It was interesting learning about where my ancestors came from.Unit 3 was my favorite - we got to discuss our hobbies and free time activities. As I mentioned, I'm obsessed with soccer and play on a club team. We practice 3 times a week and have games on Sundays. I'm a defender and my coaches say I'm really goodat marking opponents and positioning myself well. My other big hobby is reading, especially fantasy series like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and Artemis Fowl. I can get lost in those magical worlds for hours! I also enjoy baking, especially cookies and brownies.Moving on to Unit 4, we covered daily routines and school life. I wake up around 6:30am during the week since I have to be at school by 8am. My classes are English, math, science, history, Spanish, art, and P.E. Math is probably my best subject but I struggle a bit with history. After school I have soccer practice on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Then I come home, eat dinner, and finish any homework before winding down. My bedtime is 9:30pm on school nights. In Unit 5, we learned about food, nutrition, and healthy lifestyles. My favorite foods are pizza, tacos, and spaghetti. For the project, I had to keep a food log for a week and analyze whether I was eating a balanced diet with enough fruits, veggies, protein, etc. It turns out I need to cut down on junk food and eat more greens! As for exercise beyond soccer, I try to go on a bike ride or take my dog for a long walk on the weekends. Finally, Unit 6 covered shopping, money, and budgeting. I don't get a regular allowance, but I do some chores around the house like taking out the trash, doing dishes, and cleaning myroom to earn some cash. With that money, I mainly buy books, soccer gear, or go to the movies with friends. A few times a year we'll go on a shopping trip where I get to buy some new clothes and shoes. I'm learning it's important to be responsible with my money! That's a recap of my school year so far. 7th grade has kept me busy juggling academic work, soccer, and my social life. But I'm having a great time making memories with my friends and taking on more independence and responsibilities. Can't wait to see what the rest of the year holds!篇6My Life as a Seventh GraderHi there! My name is Emma, and I'm a seventh-grader at Oakwood Middle School. It's a whole new world compared to elementary school, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it.Let me start by telling you about my daily routine. I wake up at 6:30 a.m. every morning, which is pretty early, but it gives me enough time to get ready for school. I have a quick breakfast, usually some cereal or toast, and then I brush my teeth and getdressed. My mom drives me to school, which is about a15-minute drive from our house. When I get to school, the first thing I do is go to my locker and get my books for my first few classes. Our teacher, Ms. Wilson, is great at making the lessons engaging and interactive. After English, I have Math, which is not my strongest subject, but I'm trying my best. It's a lot more work than elementary school, but I'm learning so many new and interesting things. I'm also making new friends and trying new activities, which is always exciting. One of the biggest challenges of seventh grade has been managing my time and staying organized. With so many different classes and assignments, it can be easy to get overwhelmed. But I've learned to use a planner and make to-do lists, which has really helped me stay on top of everything.Another challenge has been navigating the social dynamics of middle school. There are a lot of different friend groups and cliques, and it can be tough to figure out where you fit in. But I've learned that it's important to be true to yourself and surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you.Despite the challenges, seventh grade has also been a lot of fun. I've had the opportunity to join some new clubs and activities, like the drama club and the robotics team. These activities have allowed me to explore new interests and make new friends. One of my favorite memories from seventh grade so far was the school play. I had a small role in the play, and it was such a fun and rewarding experience. Rehearsals were a lot of work, but it was all worth it when we performed in front of a packed audience.Another highlight was the science fair. I worked on a project about renewable energy sources, and it was really interesting to learn about all the different types of renewable energy and how they work. My project even won a prize, which was really exciting!Overall, seventh grade has been a rollercoaster ride, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I've learned so much, both academically and personally, and I feel like I've grown as a person. I'm grateful for all the amazing teachers and staff at Oakwood Middle School who have helped me along the way.As I look ahead to the rest of the school year and beyond, I'm excited to see what other opportunities and challenges lieahead. I know that eighth grade will be even more challenging, but I feel prepared and ready to take it on.To anyone else starting seventh grade or middle school, my advice would be to stay organized, be open to trying new things, and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. It's a big adjustment, but it's also an exciting time of growth and discovery.Well, that's my life as a seventh-grader in a nutshell! This year has been a real adventure and I wanted to share some of the highlights from my English class. We've covered a ton of cool stuff that I think you'll enjoy hearing about. Let's dive in!Unit 1 was all about storytelling and narratives. We read some awesome short stories and learned about the different elements that make a story great - the plot, characters, settings, conflicts and resolutions. My favorite was a sci-fi story about kidswho discover a portal to another dimension! We had to write our own original narratives too. I wrote about going on a treasure hunt and uncovering a secret pirate cove. It was so much fun using descriptive language to paint a vivid picture in the reader's mind. For Unit 2, we studied poetry. I have to admit, I wasn't too excited about this at first. But as we analyzed different poems, I started to appreciate the beauty and creativity of the poet's words. We looked at metaphors, imagery, rhyme schemes and more. I even tried my hand at writing some poems, with mixed results! My poem about my dog chasing squirrels didn't win any awards, but it was a fun creative challenge.Unit 3 was dedicated to biographies and autobiographies. We read about the lives of famous historical figures, scientists, artists, and more. It was fascinating to learn about their struggles, achievements and what motivated them. For our project, I chose to research and write a short biography on Marie Curie, the pioneering scientist. I have a new level of respect for her incredible discoveries after learning about all the obstacles she overcame as a woman in science during that era.Oh man, Unit 4 on persuasive writing was intense! We had to pick a topic and craft a well-researched essay to argue aparticular viewpoint. I chose to write about why schools should have longer recess periods. (Surprise, surprise!) I gathered facts about the benefits of exercise and fresh air. I laid out my arguments using topic sentences, supportive evidence and addressing counter claims. My teacher said I made some convincing points!Do you know what a memoir is? That was the focus of Unit 5. We got to read excerpts from published memoirs about real people's life experiences. I loved how the writers could vividly recreate impactful moments and convey their emotions through words. For our memoir assignment, I wrote snapshots from my life like the time I fell into a creek while hiking or my epic battle with the stomach flu. Looking back on those memories with detail and humor was a cool writing challenge. Finally, Unit 6 covered speech writing and presentations. I'm not gonna lie - public speaking makes me super nervous! But working on writing a careful speech, using tools like rhetorical questions and emphasizing key points, did help a little. When I had to present my speech about why kids should read more books, I stumbled a few times, but I powered through it. Maybe public speaking will get easier with more practice.Phew, that was a whirlwind tour of my English class so far! We've covered so many different styles of reading and writing. Today, I would like to share with you my favorite activity. It's something that brings me joy and excitement every time I do it. Can you guess what it is? Yes, you're right! It's playing soccer!I fell in love with soccer when I was very young. I would watch soccer matches on TV with my dad, and I was amazed by the skills and teamwork of the players. I knew I wanted to be a part of that world. So, I joined a local soccer team when I was six years old, and since then, I have been practicing and playing soccer every week.Soccer is not just a game for me; it's a passion. When I step onto the field, I feel a sense of freedom and excitement. The feeling of running with the ball at my feet and dribbling past opponents is simply exhilarating. It's like I'm in my own little world, where nothing else matters except the game. One of the things I love most about soccer is the teamwork. In order to win a game, we have to work together as a team. We pass the ball to each other, communicate on the field, and support one another. It's amazing to see how everyone's efforts come together to achieve a common goal. We celebrate our victories together and learn from our defeats.I also enjoy the physical aspect of soccer. It keeps me active and healthy. Running, kicking, and jumping are all part of the game, and they help me stay fit. Soccer has taught me the importance of exercise and taking care of my body.Besides the physical benefits, soccer has also taught me important life skills. It has taught me the value of perseverance and hard work. There are times when we face tough opponents or when we lose a game, but we never give up. We keep practicing, learning from our mistakes, and improving ourselves. Soccer has taught me that success comes with dedication and determination.Furthermore, soccer has given me the opportunity to make new friends. I have met so many wonderful people through this sport. We share the same passion, and it's amazing how soccer can bring people from different backgrounds together. Wesupport each other on and off the field, and the bond we have is truly special. In conclusion, playing soccer is my favorite activity. It brings me joy, excitement, and a sense of belonging. Soccer has taught me valuable life lessons, kept me physically active, and allowed me to make new friends.
