八年级下册英语外研社作文期中复习全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My English AdventureHi everyone! I'm excited to share my English adventure with you. I'm in the eighth grade now, and we have been studying English with the "Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press" textbooks. Our mid-term exams are coming up, so let me tell you about some of the fun things we've learned this semester.First, we learned about different countries and their cultures. It's so interesting to discover new things about the world! We studied the United Kingdom and learned about famous landmarks like Big Ben and the Tower of London. We also learned about American culture, including Thanksgiving and the Fourth of July. It's amazing how different countries have their own unique traditions!Next, we focused on improving our speaking and listening skills. Our teacher often plays audio recordings for us to practice listening. We also have speaking activities where we can talk toour classmates in English. It can be a bit challenging at times, but it's really fun to communicate in a different language. One of my favorite topics this semester was food. We learned about different types of food from around the world. We even had a class party where we brought in dishes from different countries. I made sushi, and my friend brought pizza. It was a delicious and educational experience! We also studied grammar and vocabulary. Sometimes, it can be a bit confusing, but our teacher always finds creative ways to make it easier for us. We play games, do group activities, and even watch English movies with subtitles. Learning English doesn't have to be boring! In addition to the textbook, our teacher often gives us extra materials to read. We have short stories, articles, and even jokes in English. It helps us improve our reading skills and expands our vocabulary. I love reading funny jokes and sharing them with my friends.Apart from the classroom activities, we also have an English club. We meet once a week and do various fun activities to practice English. We have debates, role-plays, and even English songs karaoke. The English club is a great way to make friends and improve our language skills outside of regular class time.I'm really looking forward to our mid-term exams. I feel confident that I have learned a lot this semester. Studying English is not just about passing exams; it's about exploring new cultures, communicating with people from different countries, and having fun along the way.Learning English has been an amazing adventure for me. I'm grateful to my teacher and classmates for making it such a wonderful experience. I can't wait to see what the rest of the school year holds for our English class! That's all for now, folks! Thanks for joining me on my English adventure. Goodbye and see you next time!Word Count: 412篇2Reviewing for the Big English ExamHey guys! Sarah here. Can you believe we're almost done with 8th grade already? It feels like just yesterday we were nervously walking through the doors on the first day, trying to find our lockers and classrooms. Now here we are, just a few weeks away from our big English final exam. I don't know about you, but I'm getting pretty stressed thinking about it!This exam is supposed to cover everything we've learned all year in our PEP English textbook. That's a ton of vocabulary, grammar rules, reading comprehension skills, and writing practice to review. Where do we even start? I've been talking to some of my classmates, and it seems like we all have different strategies for preparing. Some are just re-reading through all the textbook units and doing the exercises again. Others are making flashcard decks with all the key words and going over them constantly. A few are just trying to power through a bunch of practice tests.Personally, I'm taking kind of a combined approach. I started by going back through each unit in the textbook and making a list of all the major grammar points, vocabulary lists, comprehension skills, and writing styles we covered. Seeing it all written down like that was kind of overwhelming at first! But having that big-picture overview has helped me decide which areas need the most review. For grammar, I'm focusing mainly on the trickier bits like reported speech, conditional sentences, passive voice, and the different verb tenses. I've been doing tons of practice exercises, having my parents quiz me, and watching videos explaining thedifferent grammar rules. It's all about repetition for me when it comes to internalizing those patterns.Vocabulary is probably my biggest weakness. We've covered SO many new words this year within all the different topic areas and readings! I created digital flashcard decks sorted by theme - travel, environment, technology, etc. Whenever I have some free time, I've been running through a pack, seeing which words I've completely forgotten, and adding them to a "problem words" list to drill even harder. I'm also trying to use as many vocab words as possible in my daily writing and conversations to make them stick.Reading comprehension doesn't worry me too much - if I'm being honest, I've always found that to be one of the easier parts of English class. But I am going back over some of the strategies we learned this year, like identifying main ideas, making inferences, defining words in context, and analyzing the author's purpose or tone. The textbook has a ton of great fiction and non-fiction passages to practice those skills with.Writing is probably what I'm most nervous about for the exam. We've had to master so many different formats this year - emails, stories, persuasive essays, articles, reviews. And for each one, we need to make sure we're using the right level offormality, organizing our ideas logically, incorporating persuasive or descriptive language as needed, avoiding basic grammar and spelling mistakes, and developing our points fully with relevant details and examples. That's a lot to juggle! So for writing practice, I've started by looking back over all my graded assignments from the year. I'm studying my teacher's feedback to understand where my weaknesses are - do I need to work on thesis statements, transitions, conclusions, word choice? Then I find examples in the textbook that demonstrate those skills done well. After analyzing them, I'm doing my own writing prompts, trying to consciously apply what I've learned. It's slow progress, but I can feel my writing improving bit by bit.I know it's going to be hard work getting through all this review, but I also know it will be worth it. The PEP English exam is really important, and doing well on it can open up lots of great opportunities for high school and beyond. If we stay focused and organized with our prep, I'm confident we can walk into that exam feeling calm, confident, and ready to show off everything we've learned this year.So who's with me? Let's hit those books, get our brains in gear, and crush this thing! And don't forget to take breaks in between study sessions - maybe squeeze in an episode of ourfavorite shows or a walk around the neighborhood to clear our minds. We've got this!Best of luck, everyone! Let me know if you have any other great review strategies to share. Just a few more weeks of hard work, and then we can kick back, relax, and enjoy our summer vacation! We're almost there!篇3My Amazing English JourneyHi everyone! My name is Timmy, and today I want to share my amazing English journey with you. English is such a fun and exciting language to learn, and I've had a great time studying it in the second semester of eighth grade. In our English class, we learned so many interesting things. One of my favorite topics was about travel. We learned how to ask for directions, book a hotel, and even order food in English. It was篇4My English JourneyHello everyone! My name is Lily, and I'm a bright and energetic 8th-grade student. Today, I want to share with you my English learning journey using the textbook "English for Junior High School" by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.English has always been an exciting adventure for me. Since I started learning English in primary school, I have discovered a whole new world of possibilities. The textbook we are using in the second semester of 8th grade is full of interesting lessons and helpful exercises. One of my favorite units is Unit 5, which is all about travel. It's fascinating to learn about different countries, their cultures, and famous landmarks. Through this unit, I have learned how to talk about my travel experiences, ask for directions, and even book a hotel room. I can now confidently communicate with foreigners when I go on vacation with my family.Another unit that I found very useful is Unit 7, which focuses on healthy living. We learned about the importance of exercise, eating a balanced diet, and getting enough sleep. This unit inspired me to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Now, I make sure to exercise regularly, eat fruits and vegetables, and get plenty ofrest. Not only has it improved my physical health, but it has also boosted my English vocabulary related to health and well-being.Unit 10, which is about environmental protection, opened my eyes to the importance of taking care of our planet. I learned about recycling, conserving energy, and reducing pollution. This unit made me realize that even as a young student, I can contribute to making the world a better place. Now, I promote recycling in my school and encourage my classmates to save energy by turning off lights and computers when not in use.One aspect of English learning that I find challenging but exciting is speaking. To improve my speaking skills, I participate in class discussions, group activities, and oral presentations. I also practice speaking English with my friends outside of school. It's amazing to see how much progress I've made in expressing myself confidently in English. In addition to the textbook, our teacher often incorporates fun activities and games into our lessons. We play vocabulary games, do role-plays, and even have English song competitions. These activities make learning English enjoyable and interactive. They also help us remember new words and grammar structures more easily. To make the most of my English learning journey, I also use online resources and language learning apps. There are many great websites and apps that offer English exercises, vocabulary games, and listening activities. I find them helpful for self-study and revision.Looking back on my English learning journey, I am proud of how far I've come. From learning the basics of the alphabet and greetings to being able to hold conversations and write essays, English has become an essential part of my life. I am grateful to my teachers for their guidance and support and to the textbook "English for Junior High School" for providing comprehensive and engaging content. In conclusion, learning English has been an exciting adventure for me. Through the textbook "English for Junior High School" by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, I have gained valuable knowledge and skills that will benefit me for a lifetime. I encourage all my fellow students to embrace the English language and enjoy the journey of learning it. Remember, with dedication and practice, you can achieve anything you set your mind to!That's all for now. Thank you for listening to my English learning journey. Good luck with your studies, and remember to always enjoy the process!篇5My Wonderful School LifeHi everyone, my name is Timmy, and I am a grade eight student at Sunshine Elementary School. It's such a pleasant sight! In our school, we have amazing teachers who are always ready to help us learn and grow. They make our classes interesting and interactive. My favorite subject is English because my English teacher, Miss Kelly, makes learning so much fun! She uses games, songs, and even movies to help us improve our English skills. I never get bored in her class!Apart from studying, we also have many extracurricular activities. I am a member of the school choir, and we practice singing every week. Last month, we had a music competition with other schools, and our choir won the first prize! It was an unforgettable moment for all of us.One of the best parts of my school life is my friends. I have a bunch of amazing friends who are always there for me. We play together during recess, share our snacks, and help each other with homework. We have so much fun together, and I feel lucky to have such great friends. Our school also organizes field trips to different places. Last year, we went to the zoo, and I got to see lions, elephants, and giraffes up close! It was like a dream come true. This year, we are going to visit a science museum. We have a sports day where we compete in different sports, a talent show where we showcase our skills, and a cultural fair where we learn about different countries and their traditions. These events bring so much joy and excitement to our school life.In conclusion, my school life at Sunshine Elementary School is simply amazing. I have fantastic teachers, wonderful friends, and countless opportunities for learning and fun. Every day is filled with new adventures and experiences. I am grateful for my school, and I will always cherish the memories I make here.篇6Title: My Journey through the English TextbookHey there! It's me, your friendly neighborhoodeighth-grader, here to share my adventures through the enchanting world of our English textbook. Buckle up, folks, because this is going to be one wild ride!First off, let me just say that I've got mad respect for the authors of this book. They've managed to cram so much knowledge and fun into these pages that it's like they've bottled up a whole English-speaking country and squeezed it into our textbooks! Seriously, it's like a magical portal to different cultures, traditions, and ways of life. One of the things I've really enjoyed about this book is the variety of topics it covers. From exploring the wonders of nature to diving into the fascinating world of science and technology, we've covered it all! Remember that unit on environmentalprotection? Who knew learning about recycling and conserving energy could be so engaging? I mean, sure, I may have dozed off a couple of times during the lectures, but the activities and games really brought the lessons to life. Now, whenever I see someone littering, I channel my inner eco-warrior and give them the stink eye!Speaking of games, can we take a moment to appreciate the brilliance of the language games scattered throughout the book? Those tongue-twisters and word puzzles have kept my brain sharp and my classmates in stitches. I'll never forget the time when poor Timmy tried to say "She sells seashells by the seashore" ten times fast and ended up sounding like a seal with a speech impediment. Classic! But it's not all fun and games, folks. This book has also taught me some serious life lessons. Remember that unit on career choices? Talk about an eye-opener! I never realized how many fascinating jobs were out there, waiting to be explored. Who knew being a dolphin trainer or a video game designer could be an actual career path? I may have to rethink my childhood dream of becoming a professional couch potato. And let's not forget the cultural insights we've gained from this book. From exploring different festivals and traditions tolearning about the quirks and customs of variousEnglish-speaking countries, it's been a true cultural immersion. I'll never look at a cup of tea the same way again after learning about the intricate art of British afternoon tea. Pinky up, everyone! As we approach the end of our textbook adventure, I can't help but feel a mix of sadness and excitement. Sadness because it means bidding farewell to the characters and stories that have become like old friends, but excitement because it means we're one step closer to conquering the English language and embarking on new adventures. So, here's to our trusty English textbook – the guide that has led us through uncharted territories, challenged our minds, and broadened our horizons. We've laughed, we've cried (mostly out of frustration over those pesky grammar rules), and we've grown together as English learners. As I close this chapter and prepare for the next, I can't help but feel a sense of accomplishment and gratitude. Thank you, dear textbook, for being our faithful companion on this incredible journey. Who knows where the next chapter will take us? But one thing's for sure – with the skills and knowledge we've gained, the world is our oyster (or should I say, our seashell?).Until next time, my fellow language adventurers! Keep those tongues twisting and those grammar gears grinding. The English language awaits our conquest!。

八年级下册三四五单元英语作文万唯全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1School Life is Awesome!Hey there! I'm a 14-year-old middle school student and I just have to tell you all about what we've been learning in English class lately. Our textbook has been taking us on such a fun adventure through units 3, 4, and 5. Get ready for an inside look into my awesome school life!Unit 3 was all about traveling and seeing the world. We learned so many cool words for different places, transportation, and activities when you're on vacation. My favorite part was reading the funny travel stories and looking at all the bright pictures of exotic locations. Doesn't a trip to the beaches of Thailand or hiking through the Swiss Alps sound incredible? I'm totally saving up my allowance to go on an amazing adventure once I'm older. The dialog practices in this unit helped me get more comfortable using phrases like "My flight got delayed" and "Don't forget to pack your swimsuit!" I even aced the unit test onvocabulary like itinerary, baggage claim, and jet lag. Who knows, maybe I'll be a teenage travel blogger someday! The world is my oyster as they say.For Unit 4, we took a deep dive into the world of mysteries and urban legends. This unit was a little spookier than the others, but I loved learning about things like the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot sightings, and people who went missing in the Bermuda Triangle. So creepy and fascinating at the same time!We had to write suspenseful stories for our creative writing assignment, and I went all out with a tale about a haunted school. You should have seen my classmates' faces when I did a dramatic reading of the climax. I'll admit, I watched maybe one too many horror movies to prepare for that one. Oops! The jigsaw reading activities where we learned new vocab like baffled, lurking, and foul play were my favorite. I still get chills thinking about some of those words. You know what they say - the truth is stranger than fiction!Just when I thought things couldn't get any better, Unit 5 blew my mind by taking us into the fascinating realm of careers and entrepreneurship. As a kid, it's hard to imagine myself as a future boss or professional. But this unit made me see how realistic and important those big goals are.We profiled all kinds of diverse career paths, from running a non-profit to flipping houses to designing video games. I'll never forget the inspiring guest speaker who came to talk to us about starting her own small business doing freelance graphic design. She shared so many motivational tips about saving money, building skills, and never giving up on your dreams. I walked away thinking "Why not me?"The best activity was when we had to plan and "pitch" our own creative startup ideas to the class, kind of like you'd do on those reality business TV shows. My group came up with a concept for an app that helps people adopt rescue pets. We had so much fun designing the logo, planning features, and projecting costs and revenue. For one glorious hour, I was the brave founder of a tech startup valued at 10 million! Hey, an eighth grader can dream, can't they? That's pretty much how these past few units have gone down. One second I'm a jetsetter lounging on the cliffs of Santorini, the next I'm a hard-nosed detective investigating an abandoned asylum, and then I'm the next Steve Jobs with a million dollar idea. This English class is no joke! The varied content, from thrilling tales to business case studies, has really kept me on my toes. I've expanded myvocabulary more than I ever could have imagined. Parallel structure, vivid imagery, and pithy idioms are just a few of the writing skills I've leveled up along the way. Most importantly, I feel like these units have helped shape my mindset by exposing me to endless possibilities in life. Why limit myself to just one passion or career? Like the modern renaissance men and women we studied, I can be a world traveler, amateur sleuth, AND innovative entrepreneur all at once if I put my mind to it.There's a huge world out there waiting for me, filled with unsolved mysteries, uncharted territories to explore both literally and metaphorically, and billions of problems that need fresh solutions. I may only be in the eighth grade, but I'm already getting mentally prepared to take life by the horns after studying these thought-provoking units. So that's the scoop on my wild ride through middle school English篇2My School Life in 8th GradeHey there! I'm an 8th grader and I want to tell you about my life at school this year. It's been quite a ride, let me tell you!Unit 3 was all about food and cooking. We learned tons of vocabulary for different foods, from fruits and veggies to junk food and everything in between. My favorite new words were "scrumptious" and "mouthwatering". The food unit was fun because we got to do all sorts of tasty activities. We had to research and write reports on foods from different cultures. I did mine on Spanish tapas like patatas bravas and croquetas de jamón. My mouth waters just thinking about it! We also had an international food fair where we all brought in dishes from our own cultural backgrounds. I'm Indian, so my mom made some seriously delicious chicken curry and naan bread. So yummy! The best part was the healthy eating project though. We had to track everything we ate for a week and analyze whether we were getting all the right nutrients and proportions of food groups. I was shocked at how many chips and cookies I had been mindlessly snacking on! It really made me think harder about making better choices. For the final food unit project, we split into groups and created our own fake restaurants, including full menus, logos, and marketing slogans. My group did a Mexican-Italian fusion place called "Itz-a-Fuego" which was pretty hilarious if I do say so myself. We had dishes like "fajita paninis" and "spaghetti taco salads". Looking back, those combos sound kind of gross, but we had a blast coming up with all the crazy menu items!Unit 4 was entitled "Going Green" and focused on environmental issues like pollution, conservation, and climate change. This unit was definitely an eye-opener for me. I had no idea how much single-use plastic I went through in a week from straws, bottles, bags, and packaging. Or how much energy and resources my family wastes through habits like leaving lights on and taking super long showers. We did a super insightful activity where we calculated our annual carbon footprints based on factors like transportation methods, meat consumption, electricity usage, and more. I was devastated to see how high my number was! From then on, I started nagging my parents to do things like recycle more, turn lights off when leaving rooms, and eat less meat and dairy. For our final unit project, we had to pick an environmental issue that was important to us and come up with a campaign to raise awareness or funds for it. My group chose ocean plastic pollution since we live near the coast. We made persuasiveposters, wrote scripts for PSA videos, and organized a beach cleanup day that drew a huge crowd! It felt amazing to take positive action on something that really matters.Last but not least, Unit 5 was called "Cultural Traditions" where we explored the customs, celebrations, and values of societies around the world. My favorite activities were showing off traditional clothing from our cultures and sharing traditional stories, songs, or dances with the class. I got to wear my mom's gorgeous red and gold Indian lengha and do a classical dance routine. A bunch of other students performed really cool stuff too like playing traditional Chinese instruments, reciting poems in Arabic, and demonstrating martial arts forms. It was awesome to learn about and appreciate each other's rich cultural heritages. The biggest unit project was creating museum-style exhibits to highlight the traditions and values of a specific world culture. My group picked Japan and went all out - we made miniature models of Tokyo cityscapes, samurai armor out of paper mache, pamphlets explaining Shinto and Buddhist beliefs, and more. Putting it all together and seeing the final exhibit made me feel insanely proud of all our hard work.Well, those were the highlights of my crazy 8th grade year! Between the hands-on activities, group projects, and fascinatingtopics, I feel like I learned so much important stuff about the world around me. My brain is bigger and my horizons are wider. Honestly, 8th grade has been one of the coolest experienced of my life so far. I'll never forget the awesome memories I made this year with my friends and teachers. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go practice my Indian dance routine one more time before the big showcase tonight!篇3My English Learning JourneyHi there! My name is Mandy, and I'm an 8th-grader at Sunshine Middle School. Today, I want to share with you my experience of learning English over the past few years. It's been quite a rollercoaster ride, let me tell you!Unit 3: Exploring New HorizonsWhen I first started learning English back in elementary school, I'll be honest – I found it really challenging. All those strange words and grammar rules seemed like gibberish to me. But my teacher, Ms. Johnson, was incredibly patient and encouraging. She made learning fun by incorporating games, songs, and activities into our lessons. One of my favorite memories from that time was when we had a "dress-up day" where we all came to class dressed as our favorite book characters. I went as Harry Potter, complete with a makeshift wand and glasses held together with tape. Even though my costume was a bit rough around the edges, Ms. Johnson praised my effort and helped me introduce myself in English to the class. That moment gave me a huge confidence boost and made me realize that learning a new language was all about trying your best and not being afraid to make mistakes.Unit 4: Bridging CulturesAs I progressed through middle school, my English skills improved significantly. I could hold basic conversations, read simple stories, and even write short paragraphs. But what really fascinated me was learning about different cultures and traditions around the world. In one of our lessons, we learned about the vibrant festival of Diwali celebrated in India. Our teacher showed us pictures of colorful rangoli patterns, delicious sweets, and dazzling fireworks. We even tried our hand at making our own diyas (clay lamps) and decorating them with intricate designs. It was such a unique and immersive experience that made me appreciate the richness and diversity of other cultures.Another highlight was when we had a pen-pal exchange program with students from a school in Australia. Writing letters back and forth, learning about their daily lives and customs, and sharing our own experiences was an incredibly rewarding experience. It really drove home the fact that English is a powerful tool that can connect people from all over the world.Unit 5: Unleashing CreativityIn recent months, our English lessons have taken a more creative turn. We've been exploring different forms of writing, from poetry to short stories, and even trying our hand at scriptwriting. One of my favorite assignments was when we had to write a short play and perform it in front of the class. My group wrote a hilarious skit about a group of friends trying to plan the perfect birthday surprise for one of their classmates. We had so much fun coming up with the storyline, crafting the dialogue, and rehearsing our parts. When it was our turn to perform, we had the entire class rolling with laughter.Writing creatively in English has been incredibly liberating for me. It's allowed me to express my thoughts and ideas in ways I never thought possible. I've discovered a love for wordplay, metaphors, and vivid descriptions that bring my stories to life.Looking Back and Looking ForwardAs I reflect on my English learning journey so far, I'm filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. From those initial struggles to now being able to communicate fluently and explore my creativity, it's been an incredible transformation. One thing is for sure – learning English has opened up a whole new world for me. It's given me the ability to connect with people from all walks of life, explore diverse viewpoints, and express myself in ways I never thought possible. And for that, I'm forever grateful. So, here's to many more adventures in the wonderful world of English learning! Who knows where this journey will take me next?篇4My Life as an 8th GraderHey there! My name is Emma and I'm an 8th grade student at Oakwood Middle School. Let me tell you, being in 8th grade is a total roller coaster ride of emotions, challenges and new experiences. But I'm loving every minute of it (well, maybe not the homework part)!Unit 3 was all about talking about our hobbies and free time activities. I have to say, my favorite hobby is definitely reading. There's just something magical about getting lost in the pages of a good book, escaping to fantastical worlds and going on adventures without ever leaving my room. My friends think I'm a total nerd for loving reading so much, but I don't care. Books are life!Speaking of friends, they definitely keep me busy too. I love hanging out at the mall or going to movies with my squad on the weekends. We always have a blast together, even if it's just chilling at the food court and people watching. My best friend Katie and I have been inseparable since kindergarten. We've been through everything together - the good, the bad and the crazy! When I'm not reading or hanging with my crew, I really enjoy playing soccer. There's nothing quite like the thrill of scoring a goal or making an epic save as the goalie. Win or lose, being part of a team and working together towards a common goal is so rewarding. My parents have to practically drag me off the field at practice!Unit 4 was focused on discussing our ambitions and future career goals. I have to admit, I'm really not sure what I want to dowhen I grow up yet. Part of me dreams of being a world-famous author, writing bestselling novels that inspire and touch readers around the globe. But another part of me wants to be a scientist, maybe even an astronaut, and explore the depths of the unknown universe. How cool would it be to walk on Mars or discover a new planet? I've got plenty of time to figure it out though, I guess. One thing I am certain about is that I want to travel the world someday. There's just so much to see and experience out there beyond the borders of my little hometown. From the ancient ruins and rich cultures of places like Greece and Egypt, to the natural wonders of the Amazon rainforest or Australian Outback, everywhere has such unique beauty and history to offer. Learning about different societies through the lens of their food, art, music and traditions sounds endlessly fascinating to me. Who knows, maybe I'll find my calling while backpacking through Europe or volunteering in a rural African village. The possibilities seem limitless and that's pretty darn exciting!Unit 5 was all about going green and being eco-friendly, which is definitely a passion of mine. I'm always nagging my parents about reducing our carbon footprint and doing more to protect the environment. Simple things like recycling, cuttingback on plastic usage, and being more conscious about conserving energy and water can make such a big difference. At school, I'm the president of the Environmental Club where we do things like beach cleanups, tree planting drives and awareness campaigns about issues like climate change or animal conservation. I just feel like it's our duty as the next generation to take care of this planet, you know?Anyhow, that's a little glimpse into my crazy 8th grade life - the ups, the downs, the homework battles and the self-discovery. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of drama and angst that comes along with being a middle schooler too. Dealing with cliques, peer pressure, bullying, hormones, you name it. But at the end of the day, I'm just trying to make the most of this time by pursuing my interests, dreaming big about the future, and making as many amazing memories with my friends and family as I can. After all, these really are the good old days, aren't they? Might as well embrace them while they last!篇5My Life in the Eighth GradeHi there! My name is Andy, and I'm an eighth-grader at Greenville Middle School. This year has been quite a rollercoaster ride, filled with new experiences, challenges, and a whole lot of fun!Unit 3: Sports and HobbiesOne of the highlights of this semester was joining the school's soccer team. I've always loved playing soccer since I was a little kid, but this was the first time I got to be part of an actual team. At first, I was a bit nervous about tryouts and whether I'd make the cut. But with hard work and determination, I managed to secure a spot as a forward.Playing in matches was both exhilarating andnerve-wracking. The adrenaline rush of dribbling the ball down the field, trying to outmaneuver the opposing players, and the roar of the crowd cheering us on was indescribable. Even though we didn't win every game, the sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship among my teammates was truly special.Aside from soccer, I also picked up a new hobby this year –photography. My parents got me a digital camera for my birthday, and I've been experimenting with it ever since. I love capturing candid moments of my friends and family, as well as interesting landscapes and nature scenes around town. Who knows, maybe I'll become a professional photographer someday!Unit 4: Travel and TransportationDuring spring break, my family went on an amazing road trip to the Grand Canyon. It was my first time visiting such a breathtaking natural wonder, and I was in awe of its sheer size and beauty. We hiked along the rim trail, took countless photos, and even went horseback riding along one of the trails. The journey itself was also quite an adventure. We drove for hours, passing through small towns and vast stretches of desert.I got to see so many different landscapes and experience a taste of life on the open road. My favorite part was stopping at roadside diners and trying out their unique local dishes.Speaking of transportation, I'm also excited about getting my learner's permit soon. My parents have been teaching me the rules of the road, and I've been practicing my driving skills in empty parking lots. It's a bit daunting, but I can't wait to have that sense of freedom and independence that comes with being able to drive.Unit 5: Technology and InventionsTechnology plays a huge role in our lives these days, and I'm pretty much glued to my smartphone and laptop most of the time. I use them for everything from staying connected withfriends and family to doing research for school projects and streaming movies and shows. One of the coolest things we learned about in class this semester was the history of inventions and how they've shaped our modern world. It's mind-blowing to think about how farwe've come from the days of the wheel and the printing press to today's cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and space exploration.I'm particularly fascinated by the possibilities of renewable energy sources like solar and wind power. With the growing concerns about climate change and the need to reduce our carbon footprint, I think these clean technologies will play a crucial role in our future. In fact, for our end-of-year science fair project, my friends and I are working on building a small-scale wind turbine model. It's been a challenging but rewarding experience, as we've had to research the principles of aerodynamics, electrical circuits, and sustainable design. Hopefully, our project will inspire others to think about how we can harness natural resources more efficiently.Overall, this eighth-grade year has been a whirlwind of new experiences, personal growth, and lots of learning. I've madesome incredible memories with my friends, discovered new passions, and gained a better understanding of the world around me.As I look ahead to high school next year, I'm both excited and a little nervous. But I know that with the skills and knowledge I've gained, and the support of my amazing teachers, family, and friends, I'll be ready to tackle whatever challenges come my way. Thanks for reading my story! Until next time, stay curious and keep exploring!篇6My Journey Through 8th Grade EnglishHey there! I'm an 8th grader and I've been learning English for quite a few years now. This year, we covered units 3 through 5 in our textbook and I have to say, it's been a wild ride! Let me take you through my experience.Unit 3 was all about dealing with peer pressure. As a middle schooler, this is something I can definitely relate to. The unit taught us key phrases and vocabulary for saying no to things we're not comfortable with. There were dialogues acting outsituations where you might feel pressured by friends to do something you don't want to, like skipping class or trying drugs or alcohol. I roleplayed those scenes with my classmates and practiced the language for being firm but polite in refusing. My favorite expression was "I'm going to have to pass on that." Short and sweet, you know? The grammar focus was on using modals like "should," "could," and "would" to make suggestions or give advice. Modals are rough for English learners but doing all the practice exercises helped drill them into my brain. By the end of the unit, I felt much more confident using them correctly. The writing assignment was to write a short story using as many modals as possible about a character being tempted to make a bad choice.I wrote mine about a kid who was offered a chance to cheat on a test. Safe to say, my character made the right decision in the end!Unit 4 covered the topic of environmentalism and conservation. This one was really interesting to me because saving the planet is such a huge deal for my generation. We learned vocab words like "renewable," "sustainable," "carbon footprint," and "greenhouse gas emissions." The readings were all about current environmental issues like climate change, plastic pollution, deforestation, and endangered species. It was depressing but eye-opening stuff! The grammar focused on making comparisons using constructions like "not as...as," "more...than," and "the -est." We had to do tons of exercises comparing ecofreindly behaviors, emissions levels of different countries, Rainforest sizes, etc. My favorite was an activity where we looked at pictures of our school's recycling facilities and had to make comparative statements about them. The writing for this unit was to take a stance on an environmental issue and use comparative language to persuade the reader. I wrote a letter to our school administration advocating for more recycling bins and compost bins around campus. Hopefully they'll take me seriously!Last but not least, Unit 5 was all about careers and future goals. This was a fun one because I've been thinking a lot about what I want to do after high school. We learned workplace vocabulary and phrases you might use at a job interview or when talking about your dream career. Words like "qualifications," "entry-level," "salary," "resume," and "cover letter" came up a lot. There were dialogues modeling interviews for different professions like doctor, chef, and software engineer. The grammar focused on forming questions, both yes/no questions and WH-word questions. We did a bunch of practice changing statements into questions. My favorite was the running dictation activity where one partner ran to read a statement, then ran back to dictate a question form to their seated partner. Talk about a workout! For the writing, I had to conduct and transcribe an interview with a working adult about their career path. I interviewed my aunt who is a high school math teacher. It was fascinating learning about how she pursued that career ever since she was my age. Those three units gave me such a rich exposure to real-world English. I feel way more prepared now to handle peer pressure, to be an environmental advocate, and to start planning for my future career. Sure, there were some tough patches when the grammar got confusing or I didn't understand all the vocabulary. But my teacher was really supportive in explaining things clearly and letting us do lots of practice activities.Overall, I'm ending 8th grade feeling confident and excited to continue building my English skills in high school. Who knows, maybe I'll pursue a career where I get to use my English every day! For now, I'm just proud of how far I've come this year. Bring on 9th grade!。

No.1 谈论身体健康问题并提出建议Dear Tony,I am sorry to hear that you have a cold and have a high fever. You should learn how to take care of yourself. Because health is very important. Without health, we can do nothing. You should drink a lot of water when you have a cold. You should not go out or exercise if you have a fever. You should lie down and get some rest. Above all, I think it is better for you to see a doctor. I hope you will feel better soon.Yours,Tom No.2 谈论志愿者活动Dear Sir or Madam,I would like to be a volunteer in your after-school program on weekends. I am strong in English and Chinese. Maybe I can help kids with these two subjects there. In my free time, I enjoy reading books and like to play with kids, so I think I would be good at this job. I really want to help out as a volunteer in your after-school program because I think it will be quite interesting. How great it is to be a volunteer!I am looking forward to your reply.Yours truly,Mario No.3 讨论学生做家务问题Dear Sir or Madam,I think children should do chores at home. It is not enough to just get good grades at school. It is fair for children to share the housework because doing chores not only makes parents happy, but also develops children's independence. Besides, a child is also a member of a family, he should do chores in order to keep the house clean and tidy. What is more, parents are busy with their work. As a child, he should help his parents. All in all, I think it is necessary and important for children to do some chores.Yours truly,Mark No.4 讨论人际交往中存在的烦恼Dear Sir or Madam,I do not really agree that children should take after-school classes because these activities can cause a lot of stress for them. Although some parents are right about that after-school classes can help kids get into a high school and later a good university, I think kids should have time to relax and think for themselves. In my opinion, it is important for parents to know what kids really think and want. Perhaps parents should not push their kids so hard. I belive it is better for children's development if children have less pressure from school or parents. If children have more free time, they will have a happier life.Linda No.5 介绍难忘的事件An Unforgettable EventAn important event that I remember well was Wenchuan Earthquake. It happened on May 5, 2008 in Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province. When the big earthquake happened, I was studying for a test. My friends were having anoontime rest. We were so shocked and scared that we could hardly think clearly after that.I will never forget that day because thousands of people died on that day. Although the earthquake broke many things apart, it brought families and neighbors closer. We learned to help each other in times of difficulty.No.6 谈论传说或故事My Favorite StoryMy favorite story is The Emperor’s New Clothes. Once upon a time, there was an emperor. He loved buying clothes. One day, two brothers came to the city. They told the emperor that they could make beautiful clothes for him, but he must give them silk and gold. The brothers were bad people and they kept all the silk and gold for themselves. They told the emperor the clothes they made were special because only clever people could see them. When the emperor put on the clothes, all he could see was his underwear. But he did not want people to think he was stupid, so he said the clothes were beautiful. Then he walked around the city in his new clothes until one boy shouted, "The emperor isn't wearing any clothes!"No.7 谈论大自然及保护野生动物Let's Help AnimalsAnimals are our good friends. We should protect them well. But now people kill too many of them for their meat or money. People also cut down many trees and take away their homes. Animals have no places to live in. So they are becoming fewer and fewer. It is not right to kill animals. People should protect them and plant more trees instead of killing them and cutting down forests. We all hope that in the future there will be a lot more forests and wild animals.No.8 介绍喜欢的影视书籍My Favorite BookOf all the books that I have ever read, I like Treasure Island best. It is an interesting story about a boy who goes out to sea and finds an island full of treasures. I love it so much that I could not put it down when I read it for the first time. I really admire Jim because I think he is so strong and brave. From this story, I have learned that one must have a dream and keep on working hard, and he will achieve his dream one day.No.9 介绍家乡或曾去过的地方Welcome to ChengduHave you ever been to Chengdu? I think it is really a beautiful city. I fell in love with it when I first traveled there. As we all know, Chengdu is famous for its long history and cute pandas. We can see lots of ancient buildings, including Wuhou Memorial Temple, Kuanzhai Lane and Jinsha Ruins. One great thing about Chengdu is that you can try a lot of Sichuan food there. And the people are friendly and polite. You will feel comfortable. If you go to Chengdu, you will have a wonderful time there.No.10 谈论私人物品或周围事物的变化My favorite things from childhood are magazines. I have had them for almost three years. At first, a friend of mine gave them to me as a birthday gift. Then I start to collect magazines because I enjoy reading so much. I have collected over 50 magazines so far. The stories inside may be a bit old, but they are still interesting. They have left many soft and sweet memories in my heart. I hope to collect more magazines and learn more from them in the future.。
