1.要素：以记叙为主的新闻的六个要素(时间、地点、人物、事件的起因、经过、结果)。
以说明居多的新闻的三个部分(说明的对象、说明的过程和归纳总结)。
2.结构：标题、导语、主体、背景、结语(背景和结语有时则蕴涵在主体里面，有时省略不说)。
为了增加难度或就是要考的考点，高考阅读理解命题时往往把新闻标题删除。
导语一般是文章的第一段、最多前三段，往往会用简明、生动的话语将新闻最具价值的、最新鲜的内容或事实、或者典型的例子放在开头，以引出整个文章的主题。
接下来的主体部分会围绕文章主题展开，进一步解释和深化导语，此部分内容以记叙和说明为主。
最后的结语部分一般会再次总结文章的中心思想，强调主旨，或者是具有启发性的内容，发人深思。
也有的新闻文章没有明显的结语。
3.特点：一个特点是新闻报道强调客观性，作者一般不直接表达自己的观点；另一个特点是引语的使用，包括直接引语和间接引语。
另外新闻体裁的阅读理解考查题型：四种题型(细节理解题、推理判断题、主旨大意题和词义猜测题)都有可能涉及。
浏览文章，判断其体裁是不是新闻类阅读理解题，如果是，需要再读全文，重点“关注”以下三个部分。
一、关注导语部分导语往往包含了新闻最具价值的内容，与整个文章的主题密切相关。
通过阅读导语部分可以更好地把握文章的主题。
