过去进行时
一、过去进行时表示过去某时正在进行的动作 Was,were+动词的doing形式
1. 表示过去某一时刻或某一时间段正在进行的动作。 I was doing my homework at 9 o’clock last Sunday. 2. 表示两个同时持续的动作。 I was doing my homework while he was listening to music. 我在做作业而他在听音乐。 3. 表示某个短暂性动作发生的背景。如果主句谓语和从句谓语都发 生在过去,动作时间长的用过去进行时,表达谈话背景;动作时间短 的用一般过去时,表达新的信息。如: I was reading the newspaper when the doorbell rang. 我正在看报,突然门铃响了
