在我们这山路十八湾的土家山村里，我相对幸运，就近在家门口读完了小学和初中。躲过了那个年代土家地区农村学校自带粮食步行上学和艰苦的寄宿生活之苦。 我们这一届学生初中毕业后，全县开始撤乡并镇，老家由一个行政乡变成了行政村，随之我曾就读的初中也合并到二十公里外的镇中了。
