犹如倒置的金字塔，上面大而重，下面小而轻。
此种写作方式是目前媒体常用的写作方式，亦即将新闻中最重要的消息写在第一段，或是以“新闻提要”的方式呈现在新闻的最前端，此种方式有助于媒体编辑下标题，亦有助于阅听人快速清楚新闻重点。
基本格式（除了标题）是：先在导语中写一个新闻事件中最有新闻价值的部分（新闻价值通俗来讲就是新闻中那些最突出，最新奇，最能吸引受众的部分），比如一场球赛刚刚结束，观众/读者/听众们最想知道的是结果，或者是某个球员的发挥情况，就先从这里写起。

3）学术稿无字数要求，视原稿定，根据事件提炼，尽量简洁。
4）以上字数并非硬性要求，只是建议的范围，可以在保证还原主题的情况下，删减不必要的细节，尽量简短。
5）删减细节时，参考标准为“删去对主题传达有无损伤；目标读者-外籍人士是否需要了解/能够理解/关注重心”
六、提交待审
1）短新闻提交在【News & Events】版块之【News】版块下；
2）采编稿提交在【Welcome to XMU】版块之【Campus Life】版块下；3）学术稿版块视内容而定，因相关两个版块【Academics】与【Research】还有部分重合模糊的分界，具体也由老师指定*；
4）若还是“草稿”状态则译者还有修改权限；
5）确认无误后，点击“送审”则修改权限交由校对老师负责。
七、收尾工作
1）确认稿件待审后，告知组长，并隔日确认稿件发布后，统计原文与校对后的稿件字数，告知组长，并自行统计备份；
2）隔天查看发布的新闻版本，与提交的初稿对比，总结修改经验；3）对校对之处有异议部分可以整合通过组长反馈给校对老师；
4）对校对之处有习得之处可以整合发布小组群共享给大家；
5）每月月底公示任务量，译员根据自己的统计自行核算。
八、截稿期限
1）短新闻任务一般在当天18:00前发布至值班译员邮箱；
2）采编稿任务一般在当周周一前发布至值班译员邮箱；
3）学术稿件不定期发布，一般也在当天18:00前发布；
4）短新闻译稿应于任务发布的次日中午12:00前完成，提交待审；
5）采编稿译文应于任务发布的当周周四早上9:00前完成，提交待审；6）学术稿件以老师具体要求为准，原则上不超过三天。
