The Tortoise and the Hare" is a fable that tells the story of a turtle and a rabbit participating in a race. The story teaches us that regardless of speed, as long as we persist and work hard, we can achieve success. In the story, the rabbit is confident in his speed and underestimates the turtle. He decides to take a nap during the race, thinking he can easily catch up and win. Meanwhile, the turtle keeps moving slowly and steadily towards the finish line. When the rabbit wakes up, he realizes that the turtle is about to cross the finish line.He tries to catch up, but it's too late. The turtle wins the race. This story reminds me of the importance of perseverance and not underestimating others. Sometimes, we may thinkthat we are better or faster than others, but we should never underestimate their abilities. Just like the rabbit, we might become complacent and lose focus, allowing others to surpass us.Another lesson from this story is that slow and steady progress can lead to success. The turtle's consistenteffort and determination enable him to win the race. This teaches us the value of patience and endurance. Sometimes, we may feel discouraged when we see others achieving success faster than us. However, if we keep moving forward, even at a slower pace, we can eventually reach our goals. In our own lives, we may encounter situations where we feel like the rabbit or the turtle. There may be times when we are confident in our abilities and feel like we can easily surpass others. However, there may also be timeswhen we feel like the underdog, moving slowly towards our goals. Regardless of the circumstances, we should always remember the lessons from this story. For example, I once participated in a coding competition where I was confident in my skills and thought I would easily win. However, I underestimated one of my competitors who was known for his determination and hard work. While I was complacent and took breaks during the competition, he kept coding diligently. In the end, he surpassed me and won the competition. This experience taught me the importance of not underestimating others and the value of consistent effort. In conclusion, "The Tortoise and the Hare" is a timeless fable that teaches us the importance of perseverance, not underestimating others, and the value of slow and steady progress. It serves as a reminder that success is not solely determined by speed, but by the consistent effort and determination we put into achieving our goals.《龟兔赛跑》是一个寓言故事,讲述了一只乌龟和一只兔子参加比赛的故事。

Reading the English story "Can You Play with Me?" left me with a profound feeling of empathy and understanding. This tale, simple yet heartfelt, tells the story of alonely creature who yearns for companionship and friendship. Through its journey of seeking companionship, it teaches us valuable lessons about the importance of inclusivity, understanding, and the power of reaching out to others. The story begins with the protagonist, a seemingly ordinary yet deeply lonely creature, wandering through its world in search of someone to play with. Its repeatedrefrain of "Can you play with me?" is both touching and heartbreaking, as it becomes increasingly apparent that the creature's attempts at friendship are being ignored or rejected. This scenario resonates deeply with many of us,as we have all experienced moments of loneliness or exclusion in our lives. However, the story doesn't end in despair. Instead, it takes a hopeful turn when the protagonist encountersanother creature who is also looking for companionship. This encounter marks a turning point in the story, as thetwo creatures begin to play together, finding joy and companionship in each other's presence. The message of this story is clear: everyone deservesto be included and to have friends. The act of reaching out and inviting others to play is not only brave but also incredibly rewarding.
I read the Chinese version of “Camille” a few years ago. At that time I was deeply moved by the main character Marguerite Gautier. “Camille” or “The Lady of the Camellias” by Alexandre Dumas, fils, is the story of Marguerite Gautier, a young courtesan, or kept woman, in Paris in the mid 1800's, and how she falls in love with a young man, Armand Duval, and then tries to escape from her questionable past. I think Marguerite was right in saying that no one truly cared about her, but only wanted something from her, the only exceptions being Armand and Julie Duprat. Of course, the Comte de G. and Comte de N. wanted her body and appearance. The Duke needed to “wake up and smell the coffee” and realize that she could never replace his dead daughter. If he truly cared, he could have helped her leave her lifestyle without “keeping” her himself. And lastly, Prudence was a blood-sucking leech who used Marguerite almost worse than the men. I also think she was jealous of the fact that Marguerite had so much more courage than herself and someone truly loved her.
