锅炉名词解释1、火力发电厂(fossil—fired power plant ;thermal power plant)利用化石燃料燃烧释放的热能发电的动力设施，包括燃料燃烧释热和热能电能转换以及电能输出的所有设备、装置、仪表器件，以及为此目的设置在特定场所的建筑物、构筑物和所有有关生产和生活的附属设施。
2、锅炉(boiler)利用燃料燃烧释放的热能或其他热能加热给水或其他工质以生产规定参数和品质的蒸汽、热水或其他工质(蒸气)的机械设备。
用于发电的锅炉称电站锅炉。
在电站锅炉中，通常将化石燃料(煤、石油、天然气等)燃烧释放的热能，通过受热面的金属壁面传给其中的工质——水，把水加热成具有一定压力和温度的蒸汽，所产生的蒸汽则用来驱动汽轮机，把热能转换为机械能，汽轮机再驱动发电机，将机械能变为电能供给用户。
