一般是学者在学术休假（Sabbatical)的时候，到别的大学担任全职职位的称呼。
这绝对不是国内大学所熟知的“访问学者”的称呼。
访问学者叫"Visiting Scholar"。
访问学者的机会很好拿，因为不用发工资，而且没有教学和研究任务。
而要想拿到访问教授的职务，必须具有可以拿到该校正式职务的水平，开始工作以后按该校正式职员对待，领全额工资。
