Two thousand years ago in Han dynasty, a philosopher stated that 'People regard food as their prime want‘，and his statement is regarded as a well-known saying, from which we can learn how important the food is in our life. Without food, we will
lose the base on which the whole society is constructed. For the food, safety comes the first. The sub-standard food brings the harm to our health, even death. Unsafe food can kill us.
Today two thousand years later , we are still facing the problem of food, of course not the shortage supply of the food, the disqualified food instead. Turning on TV, we are shocked at so many bad news related with food quality, surfing the internet, we are disappointed by numerous report of the food issues. Food safety becomes the first concern of us all. Bad milk injures our babies and kids, expired food and artificial food are threatening us. We have no trust on a thing at all, but mothers and sisters, all of us still everyday go the market to buy it, we have no choice, we need this special thing, what is it? food, who can live on without food? Nobody! If the people are suspicious of the food, the very basic supply, what else can they feel confident about this society? I would say nothing. Food safety is the first concern of the whole country, food safety is the first issue for us now.
Facing the serious situation, what should we do? Should we just let it be? Should we lose the control on the safety of the food for more money? Should we take the risk of our health for better economic benefit? Our answer is No, we can not.
In order to get safe food supply, the government should takes the
first responsibility on the supervision and monitoring of the whole process of the food production, strictly comply with the relevant rules and regulation. Those who dares to take the risk of making disqualified food should be answered for their evildoing. Secondly, every member of this society should take specific action to improve the food safety. We must not make the sub-standard food and once we find out the source of the disqualified food supply, we must report to the authority right away.
