It’s my honor to be the host of this conference. Firstly, let me introduce some famous scholar guests attending this conference today. Dr.Sergio, US Secretary of Civil Affairs.Dr.ChenBingren,Minister of civil affairs department of CHINA, Prof. Jeremy.an expert of Faculty of Social Sciences of Waseda University in Jappan.Prof. Jason.expert of Faculty of Social Sciences of Tours university in France.Okay, I am Sergio, it’s my honor to be here.The rapid aging of the world population is one of the major global demographic trends.From UN’s analysis,we can see a chart, in 2050, many countries ‘ population aged 65or more(this light blue color part ) is larger much more than aged 0~15 ,and retired age also become older. And this has important consequences for the family.Firstly, with smaller families and escalating pace of life, it is even graver for famil ies to care for aged members adequately. Secondly, population aging may cause a de cline in work force, which will consequently affect the productivity of the whole socie ty. Thirdly,for some countries with weak pension and health care system, especially in countryside have not ability to care for large aging population.Population aging is pervasive, a global phenomenon affecting every man, woman and child—but countries are at very different stages of the process, and the pace of change differs greatly. Countries that started the process later will have less time to adjust. So, all of you here are going to find a better way out, time is limited!。
