Walking the trails is my favorite thing to do at Jiuzhaigou. One second you'll be in a sun-dappled forest, and the next you'll come across a vivid turquoise lake or a waterfall cascading over bright red rocks. Around every bend there's another postcard-perfect view.The plants and trees are just as magical as the waterfalls and lakes. It covers an area of 2.9 square kilometers (1.1 square miles)! That's about the same size as 400 football fields put together. It has the Kunming Lake right in the middle and then the palace buildings, gardens, and hills all around it. You could spend days exploring every corner and still not see everything.The buildings are just breathtaking. The biggest one is the Marble Boat, which looks exactly like a huge boat made out of marble! It's not a real boat though, it's a two-story building on land. I like to imagine it's a pirate ship and I'm the captain sailing the high seas. Arrrr mateys! There's also the Long Corridor which is this loooong covered walkway that goes on for 728 meters (almost half a mile!). I just got back from the coolest trip ever to Shanghai with my family and I can't wait to tell you all about it!Shanghai is a huge city in eastern China, right on the coast. It's one of the biggest cities in the whole world with over 24 million people living there! That's like 100 times bigger than my hometown. The city is famous for its incredible skyline with tons of skyscrapers and bright lights. It almost looks like a futuristic city from a sci-fi movie!We stayed in a really tall hotel in the Pudong area, which is the newest part of Shanghai on the east side of the Huangpu River. Our room was on the 58th floor and we had an awesome view looking out over the whole city. At night, all the skyscrapers light up in different colors - it was so beautiful!One of the best parts of the trip was getting to go up to the top observation decks of some of the tallest buildings in Shanghai. The first one we went to was the Shanghai World Financial Center. It has this huge hole in the top that looks like a bottle opener! We took an incredibly fast elevator all the way up to the 100th floor observation deck. The views from up there were just incredible - you could see the entire city stretching out in every direction.Another amazing skyscraper we visited was the Shanghai Tower, which is currently the second tallest building in the world at 2,073 feet tall! The observation deck at the top is on the 119th floor. When you step out onto the outdoor viewing platform, the floor is made of glass so you can look straight down. It was a little scary but so cool! I felt like I was floating among the clouds high above Shanghai.Of course, we had to visit the Bund area too. The Bund is this famous waterfront area in central Shanghai with a beautiful row of historic buildings from the 1800s and early 1900s. At night, the Bund is all lit up and reflects perfectly in the Huangpu River - it's such a pretty sight! We took a cruise along the river to see the Bund and the Pudong skyline all lit up at night.Another fun thing we did was go to the Shanghai Circus World. They had the most amazing acrobats doing crazy flips and stunts. And of course, we had to get authentic Shanghai noodles like nanjing salted duck noodles.One day we took a bus out to Zhujiajiao, which is this awesome ancient water town about an hour outside of Shanghai. It was built on a bunch of little rivers and canals with all these old stone bridges crossing over them. We got to take a boat ride along the canals and under the bridges - it felt like going back in time! For now, I'm just a carefree kid who feels like the luckiest person alive to have such an amazing park so close by.篇5My Favorite Place: The Park Down the StreetThe best place in the whole wide world is the park down the street from my house. It's the most fun, exciting, and happiest place I know! I love going there to play every chance I get.The park has the most amazing playground equipment. There are so many different things to climb on, swing from, and explore. My favorite is the huge jungle gym that has ropes, bridges, tunnels and poles to clamber across. It feels like I'm a little monkey swinging through the trees when I play on it! There are also some really cool twisty slide tubes that are fun to whoosh down at super fast speeds.But the playground isn't the only awesome thing about the park. It also has this great big grassy field that's perfect for running around, playing tag, or kicking a soccer ball. Sometimes I take my frisbee there to toss it back and forth with my friends. We have frisbee catching contests to see who can make the best diving catches on the soft, spongy grass.Around the edges of the field are some woods with lots of big trees and a little creek running through it. My buddies and I love exploring those woods, pretending we're brave adventurers trekking through a wild jungle. We look for cool sticks that make good pretend swords, wands or fishing poles. And we always keep our eyes peeled for any small critters like squirrels, chipmunks or birds that might be scampering around in there.Near the creek is this great little bridge that goes over it. I really like standing on that bridge listening to the gurgling sounds of the water flowing under it. Sometimes I'll toss in a few pebbles or leaves and watch them get carried away with the current. I dream about one day building a mighty dam to make the creek into a huge raging river!My favorite time to visit the park is in the springtime when all the trees and flowers are blooming. The air smells so sweet and fresh, and the world seems to be reawakening with new life all around. I'll often bring a bag lunch from home and have a little picnic on one of the benches near the playground. As I munch away, I can hear the happy sounds of other kids laughing, birds chirping, and leaves rustling in the gentle breeze. It's pure paradise!But the park is pretty awesome in every season really. In the summer it's a blast to play outside in the warm sunshine for hours. In the fall, my friends and I jump into the huge piles of fallen leaves, making clouds of colors swirl all around us as we roll through them giggling. And in winter, the first fresh snowfall transforms the whole place into a magical winter wonderland. We'll go sledding on a little hill, build silly snowmen, and have crazy snowball fights until our mittens are soaked through.No matter what time of year it is though, I always meet up with my neighborhood friends at the park. We have our own secret hiding spots and special made-up games that we play. Like there's this one hollow tree trunk that we pretend is a fortress, and we take turns defending it from evil invaders. Or we might use fallen branches as battle staffs and duel each other like wizard warriors from an enchanted realm.My most favorite favoritest thing of all at the park though is the yummy snack stand near the main entrance. It's run by this really nice older couple who sell the most delicious fresh squeezed lemonade, ice cold on hot summer days. And their chocolate chip cookies are out-of-this-world good - soft, chewy, and loaded with tons of gooey chocolate chunks. Whenever I geta couple quarters from my piggy bank, you'd better believe I'm spending it at that snack stand!Honestly, I could go on and on about why the park is just the greatest place ever. It has everything a kid could ever want - cool playground equipment, nature trails to explore, shady trees for climbing, and wide open spaces for running free. Whenever I'm there, I feel completely happy and energized. Like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders and I can just be a kid again without any cares or worries.My friends and I have had so many amazing adventures and made countless cherished memories at that park over the years. We've created our own hidden fantasy worlds nestled within its grounds that only we know about. We've pretended to be superheroes, pirates, knights, you name it - all fueled by our wild imaginative powers. It's such an awesome place with so many fun things to do. I love going there with my friends and family. We always have a blast!There's a huge playground right in the middle of the park. It has swings, slides, monkey bars, and even a merry-go-round that spins super fast! My friends and I race to see who can go the highest on the swings. We also love playing tag andhide-and-seek around the playground equipment. Sometimes we pretend the playground is a castle or a pirate ship and we have epic adventures!Right beside the playground, there's a big grassy field perfect for running around and playing games. We're the best flag captors ever!On the other side of the park, there are some walking trails that wind through the trees. It feels like you're in a forest when you're on those trails. My dad and I like to go bird watching and see how many different kinds we can spot. We've seen robins, blue jays, cardinals, and even a hawk once! The trails are also great for bike riding. Just have to watch out for roots and rocks.My favorite part of the park might be the creek that runs through one corner. It's so much fun to play in the shallow water, especially on hot summer days. We build dams with sticks and rocks and make little waterfalls. Skipping stones is always a good time too. You have to get the perfect flat rock though. I can skip a stone like ten times! Maybe more if I get a really good one.There's also a small pond at the park with ducks and geese swimming around. Feeding them bread crumbs is fun, but you have to be careful because those geese can be mean if you get too close! One time a goose chased my little sister and she had to run away. It was pretty funny after we knew she was ok.In the summer, the park has outdoor concerts on the weekends. People bring blankets and lawn chairs and listen to live music. Sometimes there's even a food truck selling snacks. My favorite is the ice cream truck though! I always get a chocolate ice cream cone piled high with sprinkles.The park just has so many awesome things to do and explore. You could probably go there every day for a whole year and still not get bored. It's such a magical place, at least for a kid like me.I make so many wonderful memories with my friends and family at the park. I'm lucky to have such an amazing place so close to my house.
