(god) bless you 保重（比如在别人打喷嚏时说的话）

★sail v. 航行

○1vi. (船)航行，扬帆起航The ship is sailing for New York. ○2vi. (人)乘船航行I want to sail around the world.

○3 n. 帆，蓬This boat has white sails.

in full sail 张满帆的，全速的

set sail (n.) for some place 启航 = sail (v.) for some place sailing n. 驾驶帆船航行的运动

sailor (v. + or) → n. 水手，海员

actor 演员

transistor [træn'sistə]晶体管;晶体管收音机,半导体收音机

conductor[kən'dʌktə](乐队)指挥；售票员, 列车长〈电〉导体visitor 参观者，来访者

★harbour n. 港口，海湾at the harbor 在港口seaport 海港★proud adj. 自豪，自满

be proud of 以……为到自豪 I'm so proud of you.

be proud to do….很骄傲地去做

I am very proud to call you my friend.我很自豪地称你为朋友。pride n./v.自豪，骄傲

take pride (n.) in….. 对…感到自豪/骄傲

eg. We take a lot of pride in China. 我们为中国感到自豪。pride (v.) oneself on……为…感到自豪和骄傲

eg. She prides herself on her English. 她为自己的英语而感到自豪。

★important adj. 重要的←→ unimportant importance n.重大VIP 大人物；主要人物 a very important person

important decision 重要决定

un 表一个否定前缀

happy ←→ unhappy

lucky ←→ unhappy

true ←→ untrue

comfortable ←→ uncomfortable

除了un外，还有其它表示否定的前缀：

dis: like ←→ dis like

agree ←→ disagree

in: formal ←→ informal

accurate ←→ inaccurate

im: moral ←→ immoral （不道德的，邪恶的）

polite ←→ impolite

ir: regular ←→ irregular

responsible ←→ irresponsible

il: legal ['li:ɡəl] 合法的←→ illegal

logical ←→ illogical [ɪ'lɔdʒɪkəl] adj.没有道理的,不合逻辑的；与逻辑相违的

【课文讲解】

１.We'll meet him at the harbour early in the morning.

★meet sb+地点本课中是“见”的意思

在口语里是“某地接某人”：I'll meet you at the station. meet up with 偶然遇到

eg. I met up with an old classmate in the holiday crowd. see sb off 送某人离开

early in the morning 一大早

late in the afternoon 傍晚

late at night 深夜

2.Topsail is a famous little boat.

★small表示形体上的小

little往往倾注了一定的感情，“可爱”

★famous adj. 著名的 a famous actor

be famous for…因…而著名

be famous as…作为…而著名

eg. London is famous for its fog. 伦敦因大雾而出名。

eg. He is famous as a Spanish expert.他作为西班牙语专家而著名。

well-known adj. 著名的

be well-known for因…而著名

well + v.的过去分词→构成一个形容词

well-informed消息灵通的，精通的

well-grounded 根底好的

well-done 工作做得好；全熟的

well-chosen 很好选择的

well-balanced 平衡得很好的

3.It has sailed across the Atlantic many times.

★across是对某个细长物“横断，横切，横渡”等，尤指河流、马路、海洋等。

★the Atlantic=the Atlantic Ocean 大西洋

★表示次数：once, twice, three times …
