Perhaps it is the first time for you to visit Henan, so I’d like to give you a brief introduction about it!

Henan province, also called “Yu” for short, meaning a man pulling an elephant, is situated right in the heart of China, covering an area of 167,000 square kilometers, with a total population of 97 million, which is the largest of all provinces in China.

Henan is also named “central plain” or “Central State”, for over 4,000 years ago, China was divided into nine state. Henan was called Yu State, and was located in the middle of the nine state, hence the name. And you must heard Luoyang, a city which has a long history.

Luoyang is located at the western part of Henan Province. It stretches over both the south and north banks of the central reaches of the Yellow River. As the city is also situated on the northern bank of the Luohe River and faces the sun, hence the name, Luoyang. Luoyang is famous for being ancient capitals of 9 dynasties. During the time of serving as capitals, Luoyang was always the center of China’s politics, economy and culture. Lots of historical events of great importance took place here. It is also one of the excellent tourists cities in China and now is striving for the title of the best tourist city in our country. Luoyang is a city, not only abundant in man-made scenery but also rich in natural landscape. Today, I’d like to show you one of the famous natural landscapes in the region ---the Baiyun Mountain. I’m sure you’ll love it.

The Baiyun Mountain is located in the South of Songxian County under Luoyang, only 180 kilometers south to the city. It was proclaimed a national forest park by the Ministry of Forestry of China and became a national protection area in 1998.It was honored one of the "Top Ten Excellent Scenic Zones in Luoyang and one of the 5A spots. There are beautiful hills and strange rocks with many stories.

With the total area of 45 square kilometers the Baiyun Mountain has two perfections and four wonders. About two perfections one is its good location. It covers part of the Yellow River Valley, the Yangtse River Valley and the Huaihe River Valley, and is the shared source of the Baihe River, the Yihe River and the Ruhe River. The other is its varied topography. It has 37 peaks over 1,500 meters above the sea level and an open basin in the middle area. As for the four wonder the first is animals and plants. .The second is its comfortable climate with rich rainfall, cool summer and fresh air. The third is its various natural wonders such as steep peaks, forest, pools and caves. The fourth is its unique geology. The Baiyun Mountain collect not only the grandness of northern mountains but also beauty of
