English application writing is a very practical and comprehensive course. To improve our English writing abilities, our teacher adopts a teaching plan of group presentation. That gives us the opportunities to exercise ourselves in practicing and learning from others’ experiences. Meanwhile our teacher also summarizes every group’s strength and shortage to help us make further improvements patiently.

Our Teacher Mrs. Zhang is very detailed and comprehensive. She guides us how to make a better presentation, such as enhancing interaction between performers and spectators. She also encourages us to be calm on the platform and to manipulate the narrative speed. Under her guidance, our presentation skills obtain a great enhancement.

After class, i practiced writing sales contract as homework. Through practice, I also learn a lot about English contact. Business contract has a lot of features in the use of language, such as the use of words, sentence structure and other characteristics. Because the business contract is a kind of official document with legal effect, some normal and strict words or word groups are used in the contract in order to show its normalization, legally binding and solemnity. English and Chinese economic applications often use professional vocabulary which uncommon and difficult to understand. The words in the business contract are very formal, professional and accurate, so the sentence structures in the contract are very colorful with different kinds of patterns such as attributive clause, the use of declarative sentences, the use of passive sentences and the use of long sentences. In order to make clear the certain rights and obligations of the parties who signed the contract to avoid misinterpretation, misunderstanding or ambiguity, a lot of complex structures of the long sentence are used in the English business contracts. In the following parts, a brief elaboration will be given about sentence features of English business contract. Different writing method results in big differences in two kinds of applications. English economic applications capitalize first letter or all of a party’s name, constitution’s name, specific name, title, conditions, etc.

In class our teacher pointed out the problems of the contract my group wrote patiently. She also advised us to add the subject line, which should be specific enough to convey the main purpose of the contract. That helps enhance my comprehension of the cover format, writing style, content and distribution of English contract. Since i have got the auditing offer of EY, which is third-largest international accounting firm, I will often check the English contacts in my future work. This practice makes me be more familiar with the writing technique and content of English contracts, which will really help me a lot in my future work. After a semester of English application writing course learning, my English writing ability is greatly improved. I am extremely grateful to our teacher for her hard work.

During the course of this semester, we focus on learning the writing method of Inspection Report, tender letter, Invitation for bids, Corporate Identity, Contract and so on. The subject of my group presentation is Corporate Identity, which is very interesting and attractive. During my preparation of this presentation, I have a deep understanding of the writing technique of Corporate Identity. Firstly, grammatical person, such as the first person “we” or “our company” is often used to close the distance between the enterprise and the customers. At the same time, English copywriting was also used interchangeably between the second person and the first person in order to achieve the potential interactive dialogue effect. Furthermore, using comparative adjectives and superlative make the originally powerless entity vivid, natural and fascinating. Of course, the comparative adjectives and superlative are the best choice to describe the goods’ advantages. Additionally, in order to highlight the product new, extraordinary and special personality characteristics, the advertising designer can be described as the brains, and often deliberately use typos, coined new words to enhance a greater charm to attract the attention of consumers. Last but not least, it is a common sight to use some simple verbs and speaking vocabulary to describe the goods. "Going East, Staying Westin." This is a very clever
