It is generally believed that with the development of technology, the food we eat today is much healthier than that we eat in the past. However, from my perspective, as a matter of fact, it is the other way round. To be more precise, my statement will be justified and exemplified in the following respect.Food today is not as healthy as it was in the past. To begin with, the so-called healthy food usually contains lots of unhealthy or even toxic ingredients which we even can not pronounce their names. There are many reasons that they contain so many unhealthy ingredients such as to make the food tastes better, to preserve the food for a long period and so on. In China, many accidents related to food have occurred during those years. In 2009, Sanlu, the most famous company in China, was reported that they made a lot of toxic milk powers that for small babies and as a result, hundreds of thousands of babies was poisoned by the milk powders. Then in 2011, another company was reported that the meat they produced was filled with water.Unfortunately, 80% of the Chinese families ate the meat produced by that company, of course, my family was one of them. Shocked and disappointed, the public started to question all the food they eat after those events. What’s more? Fast food restaurants are everywhere nowadays, which is much more than in the past. It goes without question that an increasing number of people always eat fast food in their daily life. However, fast food is known to have poor nutrition values which is high in calories, fats, sugars and many other unhealthy ingredients, so eat too much food in the long run is harmful to our health. But in the past, we seldom eat fast food. Thus, we are not as healthier as we were in the past because of the unhealthy food.In conclusion, the food we eat in the past is more healthier than we eat today, because it was more natural and without too many unhealthy ingredients. To be as healthier as we were in the past, I believe the companies which produce food we eat everyday should be responsible food safety and produce healthy food.。
