❖ Arthur Conan Doyle was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on 22 May 1859. From 1876 to 1881 he studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh. He received a degree of medicine doctor in 1885. But the income can only maintain the normal life ,he had plenty of time to read. In 1885 Conan Doyle married Louisa Hawkins, but she suffered from tuberculosis( 肺结核 ) and died on 4 July 1906.The next year he married Jean Leckie, whom he had first met and fallen in love with in 1897. Jean died in London on 27 June 1940.
