一、功能：Talk about preferences and make plans .

二、语言目标

1.熟练掌握以下词汇：comedy, meaningless, action, action movie, scary movie

2. 口、笔头掌握以下句型：John wants to watch talk shows because they’re enjoyable.

I like to watch action movies because they’re exciting.

三、技能目标: Ss can grasp the names of different kinds of TV shows and movies. Through listening and speaking,

students can use adjectives to describe different kinds of TV shows and movies.

四、情感态度: Lead students to retail（转述）other’s views in a realistic way.

Step I. Teaching Aims 展示目标

Tell the Ss they are going to learn Unit 5 Do you want to watch a game show? Section B 1a-1d.And show students the learning aims of this lesson.

Ste pⅡ.Pre-listening activities

1.Preview

（1）Look at the pictures and write down different kinds of movies and TV shows.

（2）Ask the students to open their books to P36 and read by themselves . Then say out these words and sentences orally according to the Chinese. If possible, they can close their books and write them down.

1.Listen and find the general idea of 1b.

The main idea (大意) of the conversation is .

2. Listen to the conversation more carefully and find the specific ideas

（1）Ask the Ss to listen again and circle the description words they hear in the box in 1a.

(2) 1c Listen again. Write down the words John and Mary use to describe the TV shows or movies.

(3) Then ask the Ss to listen to the tape and finish the tape scripts.

John: What do you want to do today, Mary?

Mary: I want to watch a movie .Are there any good movies showing right now ?

John: Hmm ,let me look in the newspaper … How about something ,like an action movie or a scary movie ?

Mary: Oh no,I think those movies are so .

John: Well ,most of the movies on right now are action movies or movies .

Mary: Oh, maybe we should stay at home and watch TV then .I want to watch something , like a game show or a sitcom.

John: Hmm. I don’t really like those kinds of TV shows. I think they’re . I like to watch talk shows .They’re more .

Mary: OK, I like talk shows, too. I think they’re . I like to find out what different people think about a subject .

John: OK, great. There’s a show at 4:00 p.m. Let’s watch that one .
