由于在进行口语测试时，主考老师将在《学校同学英语口语等级测试训练材料》所供应的'短文中，选取一篇作为朗读测试材料，选取5组简洁对话作为回答问题，选取一段对话作为情景对话题，选取一个话题作为话题简述题。
其次要坚持使用英语，提高使用英语的力量。

笔者认为熟读课文是特别重要的同时也是行之有效的方法。

在朗读的过程中，同学不仅要留意语音语调，意群停顿和流畅程度，而且更重要的是领悟文章内容，习得语言以外的学问如异域文化、人生真谛、生活常识等。
熟识这些材料还能提高同学在笔试中的阅读理解力量。
还要重视日常生活话题，熟识此类话题，尽量用流畅的语言来叙述这类话题。
同学可利用每天睡前10分钟，坚持用英语口头叙说身边发生的事情。
第三，英语口语考试表面上看是考查同学的口语力量，实际上同样也考查同学的听力。
假如一个同学没有好的听力，很难与别人对话，表达自己的思想。
因此听力至关重要。
