my role model

Good afternoon, everyone, I’m XXX, and it’s my pleasure to illustrate something about my role model——Zhou Enlai.

Zhou Enlai is a great son of China, who is one of the most famous diplomat外交官. Besides, he is a handsome man in my heart.

Zhou Enlai was born in Jiangsu江苏in 1898, and he was educated in a missionary college(教会大学)in Tianjin天津before studying at a university in Japan日本. Then he moved to France法国in 1920 where he helped to form the overseas branch of the Chinese Communist Party中国共产党. He also lived in Britain英国and Germany德国before returning to China in 1924.

Zhou Enlai became a prime minister总理and foreign minister外交部长in 1954, and he headed the Chinese delegation to the Geneva Conference(日内瓦会议). The following year he advocated倡导Third World unity第三世界团结at the Bandung Conference(万隆会议).

Zhou Enlai at first gave his support to the campaign运动but became concerned担忧when fighting broke out between the Red

Guards and the revisionists(红卫兵和修正主义). In order to achieve peace at the end of 1966 he called for an end to these attacks on party officials党的官员. Mao Zedong remained in control of the Cultural Revolution文化大革命and the support of the army was able to oust the revisionists.

Although he continued to be attacked by the Red Guards, Zhou Enlai survived in power and was the main architect of the detente([deɪˈtɑːnt])policy(缓和政策)with the United States and met Richard Nixon in China in February 1972. Finally, Zhou Enlai died in Beijing on 1976.
