At the end of October, 2011, 79-year-old Jane moved out of a hotel in Virginia. She had been living there for 10 years. Her stay in the hotel was the longest in the US. Now because her health is getting worse, the woman is leaving the hotel to live with her daughter. Before leaving, she wanted to thank all staff in the hotel and some reporters from different newspapers. During her stay, six different managers have worked at the hotel. Jane said she moved into the hotel on August 4, after the death of her husband in 2001. Jane’s decision to stay long was a gradual (逐渐的)one. The place offered round-the-clock service, free breakfast and no electricity or cable bills. With a few family photos, the room soon became her home. Over the years, she got on well with people and has made many friends there. Now, she’ll have to start her new life in her daughter’s house, unlike that in the hotel.
