其歌曲主题浪漫而梦幻，由六个四分音符加一个二分音符组成了轻灵的旋律。
成就了世界儿歌史上最夺目的皇冠。
也成为了全世界所有国家和文化的孩子们启蒙教育中最经典的第一首儿歌。
该曲的原版歌词为英国诗人Jane Taylor的'诗集《育儿童谣》中的“一闪一闪小星星”诗歌。
在Jane Taylor去世后，其妹妹为这首诗歌配以了莫扎特钢琴奏鸣曲KV.265的旋律。
因为旋律简单明快，英文歌词童真雅致，朗朗上口，而成为世界范围内广为流传的英国儿歌。
