可是，半年过去了，美国同事从来没有上过门。
中国同事又对她说：“我真的欢迎你来家里坐坐。
如果没空的话，随时打电话来聊聊也行。
”一年下来，美国同事既没有来电话，也没有来访。
奇怪的事，这位美国人常为没人邀请她而苦恼。
文化差异：中国亲朋好友合同事之间的串门很随便，邀请别人来访无需喂对方确定时间，自己去探访别人无需郑重其事征得同意。
美国人则没有串门的习惯。
一年内遇到大节日，亲朋好友才到家里聚一聚。
平时如果有事上门，实现要有时间确切的预约。
没有得到对方的应允，随时随地随便上门时不礼貌的行为。
因此，美国同事对“有空来坐坐”这句话只当作虚礼客套，不当作正式邀请。
无事打电话闲聊也是美国人视为打乱别人私人时间和活动安排的毛是行为。
若想邀请美国人上门，应当诚意的于对方商定一个互相都方便的时间。

不久，她和学生已相处很好，上门找她的学生络绎不绝，使她应接不暇，倍受侵扰。
有的学生见面时，与她开玩笑说：“中国菜好吃吧？瞧你胖了不少呢！”在路上，一些陌生人也对她大大咧咧地喊声“Hello, Mary。
”她渐渐地苦恼起来。
文化差异：在美国，教授对学生，老板对雇员，甚至长辈对晚辈,常常主动要求以名相称，以示关系随和。
但这是在他/她本人允许的前提下，而且是表面形式而已。
如果素昧平生，毫无往来，或只是初打交道，冒然称呼对方的名字，会给人“冒失鬼”、“粗鲁汉”的印象。
另外，对方平等待人、不拘身份，不等于可以让人肆无忌惮，无拘无束，没大没小。
相处时，嘴巴上以名相称，心中仍应记住对方的身份。
在一些庄重场合，例如：老师和校长在一起时，学生对老师不能象往常那样直呼其名，必须以“某某教授”或“某博士”相称。
英美人即使当关系变得很熟悉时，仍然不会亲密“无间”。
他们对各自的隐私领地会保持距离。
隐私包括私人时间、住所、物品、年龄、体重、长相等等。
在上面的例子中，中国学生犯了三个忌：随处叫名、随时上门、随便评论体重。
所以美国老师很不习惯。
特别忠告：称呼和上门要得到对方允许，交谈不要论及对方隐私。

因此，表示“是”的巧妙方法是在be 前加修饰词。

)特别忠告：对人对事对现象不要一概而论，特别是对异国文化现象的评论。

Australian: Will you do me a favor?Chinese: Please help me out of a complicated problem that…I’m sorry to add the trouble to you.I’ll appreciate every thing you do for me.Chinese: Come on. Are we still close friends?文化差异：在好友之间，父母子女之间，夫妻之间，兄弟姐妹之间，中国人认为没有必要拘礼客套。
他们很少相互称赞，也不会把道歉挂在嘴边。
如果这样做的话，他们会感到很不自在。
朋友还会以为双方关系有所淡化，俗话称“见外”，或者揣摩双方关系时候有了裂痕。
在英语国家，情况完全不同。
不论是谁，即使是家长对年幼的子女，只要他们帮了忙，效了力，都要道谢，他们把这种现象解释为“言传身教”和“人权平等”。
特别忠告：随时道谢，对朋友的道谢不必神经过敏。
