用来说明主语的身份、性质、品性、特征和状 态的,表语常由 名词、 形容词、 副词、 介词 短语、动词的ing形式、 不定式、 从句来充当, 它常位于系动词之后。如果句子的表语也是由一个 句子充当的,那么这个充当表语的句子就叫做 表 语从句。 常见的系动词是be,它的变化形式为:
am/is/are/was/were .

1.连系动词
也称系动词(Link Verb),它本身具有实在 意义,但不能单独作谓语,后边必须加上表语 共同构成复合谓语。连系动词与其后面的表语 合起来叫作系表结构。系表结构主要是为了说 明主语的状况、性质、特征等情况。
注:系动词不表示具体动作,这是它和实义动 词的主要区别。
