突破口语之独白(1):A Fresh Start Now一个崭新的开始

The greatest power you possess for succeeding in life is your understanding that life gives you a fresh start any moment you choose to start fresh. You've only to test the truth of this fact about the newness of life to discover the incredible freedom that waits for you just behind it. Nothing that stood in your way before stands there now in the same way. It's all new, even if you can't as yet see it that way.

突破口语之独白(2):Chinese New Year中国新年

To the Chinese people, Spring Festival is as important as Christmas to people in the West. According to the Chinese tradition, preparation for the festival starts from the beginning of the last lunar month and festival celebrations extend until the Lantern Festival on the 15th of the first lunar month. As a matter of fact, nowadays few Chinese people can afford spending a whole month on festival activities due to the fast-paced life. However, most of the working people can enjoy a week-long public holiday, during which the most important are the New Year's Eve and the first three days of the first lunar month.

对中国人来说，春节就像西方人的圣诞节一样重要。按照中国的传统，节前的准备从最后一个农历月的月初开始，并将一直持续到新年第一个农历月15号的元宵节为止。事实上，由于快节奏的生活，现在很少中国人能够把整个月时间花费在春节的各种活动上。然而，多数工薪人员能够享有一个一星期长的公众假日，期间最重要的是除夕以及第一个农历月的头三天。

突破口语之独白(3):Space Shuttle Columbia Crashed 美国哥伦比亚号航天飞机坠毁

Flags fly at half-staff at the base of the Washington Monument in memory of those who perished aboard the space shuttle Columbia Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, in Washington. Space shuttle Columbia broke apart over East Texas as it prepared to land at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida Saturday morning. All crew members perished in the disaster.

The United States Central Bank has cut interest rates. Policy makers of the Federal Reserve 【联邦储备局】lowered the banks main interest rate by one half percentage point to six percent. The goal is to prevent the economy from slowing down too much. The Federal Reserve policy makers noted a continuing1) drop in sales and production. Their decision to lower the cost of borrowing money was not expected at this time. Financial markets rose sharply2) after the announcement.
