Lesson 79 By airI used to travel by air a great deal when I was a boy. My parents used to live in South America and I used to fly there from Europe in the holidays. A flight attendant would take charge of me and I never had an unpleasant experience. I am used to travelling by air and only on one occasion have I ever felt frightened. After taking off, we were flying low over the city and slowly gaining height, when the plane suddenly turned round and flew back to the airport. While we were waiting to land, a flight attendant told us to keep calm and to get off the plane quietly as soon as it had touched down. Everybody on board was worried and we were curious to find out what had happened. Later we learnt that there was a very important person on board. The police had been told that a bomb had been planted on the plane. After we had landed, the plane was searched thoroughly. Fortunately, nothing was found and five hours later we were able to take off again.——选自《新概念英语》第二册,外语教学与研究出版社,1997年10月第1版二、每课一句I am used to travelling by air and only on one occasionhave I ever felt frightened.注意这句话中的“only on one occasion have I ev er felt frightened”,这是一句倒装句,其原本的正常语序应该是:I have ever felt frightened only on oneoccasion.

has he been 是现在完成时, 所以选 b.
11. b 只有 b. made up his mind(下决心)才同前
一句中的 made a big decision 意思相近。 而其他 3 才能用在完成时中,如 for six months, for one year 等.
所以 a.
b.
3. ab. in(在……里面)不能和动词 go 连用;c. at
shop(商店),d. private house(私宅) 工作,所以 (在……
into(进入……
9. b 只有 b. borrowed 才与前一句中的 lent 相对 国家不能用 go into; 只有 a. to 同动词 go 连用 go
since(从……
b. a long time ago(很久以前)与原来句子不符 合。
a. went 是过 去式; b. being 是现在分词;d. was 是过去式,只有 c. been 是过去分词,所 以选 c. 8. b 本句需要选出与 firm(公司)的同意义词。 而 其他 3 个 a. society(社会),c. factory(工厂),d. store(商店) 都不是 firm 的同意义词,所以选 b. 9. c 本句需要选出一个与前一句的 different 相 对应的词.a. the only (唯一的)不是 different 的反义 词. b. asimilar (相似的,类似的)也有同样的意思,但 是它不是和 different 相对应的反义词;d. alike(相象的,相同的)通常做表语.

2. d
根据课文第11行,只有d. there was fear of an explosion (爆炸)是课

a. use to travel 语法错误; b. used to travel 指过去经常性的动作,
