2015高考英语热点话题押题汇总2015高考英语热点话题押题汇总【热点话题1】中国游客在国外的不文明行为We need to behave politely because we represent China in foreigners' eyes. In order to prove to foreigners that China is a great nation with a high civilization, we should make sure we are polite. We should avoid speaking loudly in public places and spitting and littering.【热点话题2】如何看待大学自主招生The independent enrollment serves as extra opportunities forhigh school students to enter prestigious universities. College entrance examination is no longer the only approach to the university, especially for those with special talents. We have every reason to believe that all roads lead to Rome. However, those difficult exams organized by universities for their independent enrollment are bound to make students bear more burden. It may also bring out injustice if strict supervisionis not in place.【热点话题3】中国人不该狂热学英语Owing to the current exam-oriented education environment, students attach much importance to learning English. This is having a negative impact on traditional Chinese cultural values. It’s high time that we cooled down our English fever and protected our mother tongue. Instead of making English a compulsory course, schools should make it optional and offer other courses on Chinese culture and other foreign languages. It is learning English that can help us to understand the restof the world. Because of English, we can travel abroad without tour guides, understand the instructions of imported goods and study abroad. It is too extreme to cancel English classes in schools. It is our education system instead of English learning that makes students as busy as bees.【热点话题4】碎片阅读的好处Many people read on digital devices like cell phones and e-books. The fast pace of life leaves many people no time to sit and read a whole book, so making use of fragmented time to read is sure to be a trend. Fragmented reading has its advantages. People can get hold of large amounts of information, knowledge, and entertainment in a short time. Digital reading is faster and more interactive than traditional deep reading.Fragmented reading makes it harder for people to reflect on what they read. People may not bother to remember facts because they knowthey can always just search for answers online. It is important to read quality books in a deeper way, even if that means forcing yourself to do so. We read not only for knowledge and for practical use, but also for spiritual satisfaction.【热点话题5】应该根据个人兴趣填报大学志愿When it comes to choosing a major, interest should come first. Only if we are interested can we put our heart into our work. Interest motivates study. Choose what interests you and you will not go wrong. The major you choose will probably become your career your whole life. Therefore, we should think carefully about it. Don't you want to havefun in your future work?【热点话题6】如何看待做整容手术Plastic surgery makes people more confident and gives them advantages. Not all people are born beautiful. Plastic surgery can change an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan. Good-looking people often have more opportunities. Plastic surgery can not only make people more beautiful but can also give them a competitive advantage. But plastic surgery cannot guarantee success and involves high risks.。

A1A report from the American Academy of Arts and Sciences' Commission reveals that, due to a job market which disproportionately rewards graduates in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields, more and more students are seeking degrees in business and hard-science subjects. Some institutions have responded by cutting budgets in the arts and humanities and directing those funds elsewhere. That's the wrong thing to do. The humanities study of languages, literature, history, philosophy, religion, ethics, etc.-and the arts are vital to our future. We should be investing more funds, more time and more expertise, not less, into these endeavors. What detractors(诋毁者)of the "soft" subjects miss is that the arts and humanities provide an essential framework and context for understanding the wider world. Studying the humanities strengthens the ability to communicate and work with others. It allows students to develop broad intellectual and cultural understanding; it nurtures creativity and deepens participation in public discourse and modem democracy. The commission's report points out that "at the very moment when China is seeking to adopt our model of broad education in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences as a stimulus to invention, the United States is instead narrowing our focus and abandoning our sense of what education has been and should continue to be our sense of what makes America great."These are the telling statistics: First, federal funding for helping American students include international training in their education has been cut 41 percent in four years. Second, the National Assessment of Educational Progress test shows that only less than a quarter of eighth- and 12th-grade US students are proficient in reading, writing and civics. How can we possibly equip the US for its leadership role in an increasingly connected world if we are not adequately teaching students to communicate and helping them understand and encounter diverse perspectives? If we fail to invest in the arts and humanities, our country's future leaders will not have the ability to connect on an emotional level with others. This ability is developed by studying the humanities, and in the global community this skill is not optional - it's essential. In a word, we must enthusiastically support and fund the study of the arts and humanities. For anyone concerned with how this translates into a sound economy and a sound financial future, simply recall what Steve Jobs told graduates of Stanford University in 2005: One of the most influential experiences in his brief time at Reed College was his exposure to the fine art of calligraphy(书法).It taught him the important lesson of the relationship between discipline and creativity.1. What can be inferred from the passage?A. Business and hard-science subjects are based upon the arts and humanities.B. At present too much emphasis and investment are put on science in America.C. More students will learn the arts and humanities instead of science in the USA.D. China has spent more money in the humanities and social sciences than the USA.2. The author mentions Steve Jobs in the last paragraph to prove that _____.A. science has a close relationship with the arts and humanitiesB. investment in the arts and humanities promotes economic developmentC. calligraphy plays a determining role in Steve Jobs' accomplishmentD. Reed College supports and funds the study of the arts and humanities3. Which of the following is the most suitable title for this passage?A. Significance of arts and humanitiesB. Key qualities of future leadersC. Decline of arts and humanitiesD. Rise and fall of hard sciences答案:1.B 2.B 3.A解析:1.B,推断题,根据第一段最后一句话:more and more students are seeking degrees in business and hard-science subjects.越来越多的学生学习理科和商业说明现在国家把重点和投资投在了这些方面。

高中英语真题-2015高考英语一轮阅读理解选练(5)及答案

高中英语真题:2015高考英语一轮阅读理解选练(5)及答案阅读理解The earth's most rich resource—water has become one of the most precious resources in the a s rivers, lakes, and freshwater reservoirs are increasingly exploi ted for human use. Consequently, using precise farming techni ques to refine “irrigation scheduling” is a research area of partic ular interest to Susan Moran, a researcher with the department of Agriculture. She explains that in the southwest, irrigation is both difficult and expensive. There, she says, farmers have a tendenc y to over irrigate, spending both more time and money than nec essary.“I'm trying to provide new information that could be used by f armers to schedule irrigations to improve their profitability and use less water,” Moran s ays. “Farmers often look at weather changes and then schedule irrigation based on that information. But if they had better infor mation, they could use scientific models to compute more preci sely how much water their crop is using.”Rather than guessing their crop's potential need for water ba sed upon weatherchanges, farmers can use remote sensors to measure how muc h water their crop is actually using. This would give them a mor e accurate measure of how much more water it needs.Moran believes that if farmers are getting good and timely meas urements of plant and air temperature, then they can program when and how much water to give each crop through an irrigati on system. No more water would beused than needed, thus saving cost and conserving water. Moran introduces one study she conducted in Arizona to investigate the use of remote sensing data for scheduling c otton irrigations. Typically, those farmers irrigate ten times per growing season, but evidence showed that some of those farmers coul d achieve basically the same harvest with only nine irrigations. “In those cases, one less irrigation saved more than all the cost of remote sensing data,” she states. “Both irrigation and satelli te remote sensing data are expensive. But then again many far mers are used to working together as a group. They are used t o sharing. I'm hoping they could do the same with remote sensi ng data—purchase one scene over a large area to cover many farms, which would further reduce the cost.”1. What does Moran think is the problem with farmers?A. Overused reservoirs.B. Precision farming.C. Irrigation researches.D. Overirrigation.答案解析:答案为D。

And essentially, the wilderness is anywhere but your home or office. So take money.Pack a light bulb.Be prepared.24.Why did the cashier ask a seven-year-old boy to pay for the purchases'?A.The boy was shopping by himself.B.The boy's mother asked her to do so.C.The cashier was playing a joke on him.D.The boy's mother was away for something else.25.Why was the boy angry with his mother?A.His mother left him alone.B.He lost face in front of the cashier.C.His mother forgot to buy something.D.He had just quarreled with the cashier.26.Why did Norman bring a spare bulb with him?A.He was always well-prepared.B.His presentation was about bulbs.C.He knew the classroom equipment was of poor quality.D.He predicted the bulb on the projector would blow out.27.What do the two stories tell us?A.Accidents happen almost every day.B.Money is the key that opens all doors.C.In fair weather, prepare for a rainy day.D.Chances favor those who are well-prepared.CThe Netherlands on Monday introduced its first-ever " intelligent bicycle , fitted with electronic devices to help bring clown the high accident rate among elderly cyclists in the bicycle-mad country.Developed for the government by the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), the intelligent bicycle, runs on electricity.A commercial-available bicycle isexpected to be on the market in the next two years and should sell forbetween 1, 700 to 3, 200 euros per bicycle. The devices on the bike are linked through an onboard computerwith a vibrating (震动的)warning system fitted in the bicycle'ssaddle and handlebars to warn cyclists of the coming danger. The saddle vibrates when other cyclists approach from behind, while, the handlebars do the same when barriers appear ahead." Accidents often happen when cyclists look behind them or get a fright when they are passed at high speed," said Maurice Kwakkernaat, one of TNO's research scientists involved in the project."The onboard system technology has already been at work in the car industry," he said.'' More and more elderly people are using a bicycle, not only for short distances, but also for longer distances," Dutch Environment and Infrastructure Minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen told AFP."This type of bicycle is truly needed in the Netherlands because it will help us bring down the number of elderly people who are injured every year and allow them to continue to enjoy cycling," she said.In the Netherlands, bicycles outnumber the population of 17 million by at least one million and there are some 25,000 km of bicycle path in the country. Those statistics are set to grow as more and more people take to two-wheeled transport, leading to an increased risk of injury.Last year, 184 cyclists died in the country, of which 124, or 67% , were older than 65, according to the Central Statistics Office. The year before, 200 cyclists died, the majority of victims also being elderly. The current model weighs 25 kilograms but researchers are working on making the onboard systems smaller.28.The "intelligent bicycle is aimed to ______.A.protect the environment B.help reduce traffic pressureC.popularize the use of bicycles D.improve safety for elderly cyclists 29.Which part of the intelligent bicycle will vibrate when other cyclists approach it from behind?A.The saddle. B.The wheels.C.The handlebars.D.The onboard computer.30.We can learn from the passage that ______.A.the elderly ride bicycles wherever they goB.the elderly are planning to give up cyclingC.the number of elderly cyclists is decreasingD.the accident rate among elderly cyclists is high31.Which is the best title for the passage?A.A Test Bicycle B.Elderly CyclistsC.A Smart Bicycle D.A Bicycle-mad CountryDA generation of parents raised according to the permissive principles of postwar childcare experts is rediscovering the importance of saying "No" to their children. They are beginning to reclaim the house as their own.Even spanking (打屁股)is back. While today's parents do not want to return to the Victorian era (时代)—when children were seen, spanked, but not heard—there is a growing acknowledgement that the laissez-faire approach produced a generation of children running rings around puzzled parents struggling to restore order.Janthea Brigden, a trainer with Parent Network, says: " The problem is that parents don't wantall that controlling things. What they want is to be able to discipline (管教)their children through teaching and encouraging."According to Steve Biddulph, the author of More Secrets of Happy Children, the permissive era was often just an excuse to ignore children. He believes discipline involves firm but friendly teaching and does not need to involve punishment. He teaches a method called "stand and think" , where a child is helped to figure out what is wrong and how to get it right.Mr.Biddulph understands parents using spanking, but lie is against it."The happiest children are those who know Mum and Dad are in charge. As children grow into their teens, more negotiation can take place, such as: Prove you can be home safely by 1l pm, and we might let you stay out till midnight."" There is no good evidence that an occasional, properly administered spanking is harmful in any way." says John Rosemond, an American who has won a huge following by calling for "parent power".It is pure nonsense to believe that restricting children to their room as a punishment could make them have negative feelings about the room and cause sleep problems.Mr.Rosemond tracks the overturning of traditional family values to the end of the Second World War.He blames the change of the American family into a child-centered, self-respect-oriented (以…为导向)unit on psychologists and social workers, who for 30 years have weakened traditional approaches.Previous generations of American parents raised children not by the book, but by self-evident truth, he says.Children should be seen and hot heard. If you make your bed, you'll have to lie in it.He says that those phrases contain time-honored understanding and principles that helped children to develop what we refer to as the "three Rs" of parenting: respect, responsibility and resourcefulness.32.Which is closest to the meaning of the underlined word "laissez-faire" in the second paragraph?A.Let it be.B.Go for it.C.Get it right.D.Take it easy.33.If his child did something wrong, Steve Biddulph would ______.A.give him a good beatingB.lock him up in a dark roomC.ask him to stand in a corner for hoursD.help him find out the problem and solution34.By mentioning the underlined part in the last paragraph, Mr.Rosemond .A.blames parents for ignoring children's rightsB.reminds parents to communicate more with childrenC.encourages parents to involve children more in family affairsD.explains how previous generations of parents raised children35.What does the passage mainly talk about?A.The causes of discipline problems.B.The best way to discipline children.C.Different opinions on ways of parenting.D.Differences between parents of different times.第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,共10分)根据短文内容,从短文后的七个选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。
