T:Yes.It's said that there is a moving love story behind this dish's name.Long time ago
in Mengzi County in Yunnan,in Qing Dynasty there was a Xiucai who was ready for the
provincial examination in a small island out of town.His wife always took his favorite rice
noodles to the island after a long walk across a bridge.One day she accidentally found the
chicken fat could keep the soup from getting cool.She cut the chicken,fish and meat into thin
pieces,and took the chicken soup,cooked rice noodles,thin meat pieces and other things like
lettuce,eggs and so on to the Xiucai's place.She poured the other things into the hot chicken
soup a few minutes later.Then Xiucai tasted it and found it very delicious.So to memorize
this couple,people call this dish Crossing the bridge noodles.It's so romantic.
